was Theo and Vanessa? I saw no point In the GrandFather coming to Hillman to Visit or Clair. Theo and Vanessa were fine because they were right behind Denise in age but Grandpa Russell, Rudy, and Clair????-LOL Didn't make sense to me

No he never actually went To Hillman. He was just was seen in a episode of ADW world because Rudy Called Denise from NY. So Cliff was Talking to Denise on the Phone while he was back at the Huxtable Home. Clair guest starred on ADW like 3 times and was AT hillma every time-lol

There were WAY to many appearances by the Cosby family members in this series (esp in the first season). Offhand I can't think of any other spinoff where there were so many episodes with people from the parent show showing up. I think there are about 8 or 9 episodes, mostly in the first season. The one with Theo isn't bad and the one with Rudy makes a degree of sense plotwise, but the others in year 1 are just blatant cross promotion and are poor episodes. The ones in the other seasons aren't so bad though.

Clair was Denise's mother. Of course she'd go visit her! And she'd take Rudy with her.

I actually like the episodes Clair is in after Denise was no longer in the show (Success Lies and Videotapes is a good episode), but the ones with Grandpa Huxtable and the ones with Clair and the ones with Denise calling Cliff on the phone in year one are just tired shows.

Their were way to many appearances by the Huxtables on ADW. After Denise left their really wasn't any need for it and after awhile ADW became a better show then TCS anyway.

I agree, Clair comes to Hillman 4 seasons after Denise left to interview students about their Career Gooals-LOL I hated that episode

I also wonder if the Cosby influence during season one is a form of punishment Cosby inflicted on Lisa Bonet...giving her a "you can't do it on your own vibe." She was going through her "rebellious" youth years during those times, and the Cos wasn't having any of it. Who knows.

She had her own show that was number #2 in America. Sure it needed some fine tuning, but she would have still been around when Debbie Allen took over. Plus, I loooved the Huxtable crossovers. Cliff was in at least 3 episodes, Gramps, 1, Clair,4. She appeared in once or twice in every season until season 3, Vanessa 1. Rudy, 3. Theo, 2. Martin and Olivia,1.

Cliff only appeared in ONE ADW episode with Rudy. But I don;t know if I can call it a crossover because they were talkng to Denise on the Phone. They never actually visited Hillman. Well Rudy did but not Cliff

There were at least one or two more phone calls to Dad:

1. "Pilot"
2. when Rudy visits
3. track episode

I don't know if there were anymore.

It's still strange that He never actually went to Hillman like his wife to see his daughter-lol

Theo did visit Hillman, But Cliff never did. Actually the only time Cliff visited Hillman is the year before A Different World premiered on NBC

I wonder if Cliff never visiting Denise had to do with the strained relationship between Bill Cosby and Lisa Bonet...or if they were worried that "special guest star" Bill Cosby would outshine the rest of the cast.

Theo did visit Hillman. There is one ep in which Theo flies down and visits with Denise. Part of the ep was filmed in 87' and other parts were filmed in 88' and it finally aired in the spring of 88'. I noticed because when Theo gets the invite from Denise, he has a fade(88' season four of "Cosby") and when he arrives, he has the same hairdo he wore during season three of "Cosby".

If you count the ep of "Cosby" when the whole family went to Hillman, he did visit Denise, not just on "A Different World". LOL.

I enjoyed seeing all of them visit ADW. I wish Cliff would have visited. Why he didn't, I guess we will never know.

Grandpa Huxtable and Claire visiting Hillman was very similar to alot of HBC (historically black colleges), alumni.

Alot of them are very active with campus life until the day they die. And they become even more active when decendants start attending.

HBC life is like annual family reunion.

I know it's too late for wishing, but I think that they could've spun Vanessa off to Hillman in the 90-91 season of Cosby when she went off to college. She was barely on Cosby in the last two seasons and it might've been nice to have seen her there. Plus, she would've been able to play the character for one more season after TCS ended.

Vanessa wasn't in Hillman, it was a different college. Can't remember which one.

You said it my fellow Dallas Cowboys lover. I watched ADW after Lisa Bonet was off of that show. I cannot stand Lisa Bonet and her character Denise.

I remember that the reason they added Pam and showed so little of Vanessa in season 7 was that Tempest Bledsoe went to college at that time in real life.
