WOULD SURE LIKE TO OBTAIN A COPY. :) treky 03-09-2005, 03:09 AM I don't know how or where to get a copy, but the last 3 lines were: BROUGHT TO YOU EACH (something) BY THE SPONSOR OF THE WEEK THE BEST TO YOU EACH MORNIN' KELLOGS OF BATTLE CREEK tdr 03-09-2005, 03:39 AM I have a videotape of "Vintage Cigarette Commercials," and at some time-- I think the opening is still in black&white-- they change those lines to something about Winston Cigarettes, followed by the classic Winston jingle, "Winston tastes good like a- [2 picks of the banjo]- cigarette should." What they are pointing at in that opening turns out to be a long truck with the Winston logo, and they all give a big hillbilly wave as they pass that truck in their truck. treky 03-09-2005, 03:49 AM yea, I remember the scene in the opening where they passed the Winston ciggarettes truck, back when CBS was showing reruns of the show in the daytime. I think they used to alternate it with a scene where they would pass a Kellogs billboard and look over at it. (that's what Jed's pointing to in the opening, just after the credits end) wayman 03-21-2006, 08:31 PM These can be found on "The Beverly Hillbillies - Ultimate Collection" Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 from MPI Home Video. treky 03-22-2006, 02:09 AM "NOW COME ALONG & VISIT WITH THE CLAMPETT FAM-I-LY AS THEY LEARN THE SIMPLE PLEASURES OF THE HILS OF BEV-ER-LY". CORNIEST FLAKES ANYONE MAKES KELLOGGS! TV DVD Fan 03-25-2006, 11:22 PM Yeah, these are all included within the Ultimate Collections in their respective spots after the theme and on Disc 4 in the Special Features section. Pat Brenda Brown 03-28-2006, 02:00 PM I remember a commercial they did for Kellogs Cornflakes, where the grocery boy delivered the groceries and Granny had him sit down to a bowl of Kelloggs cornflakes, they'd make him big and strong, and he asked if Jed ate them. "Ev'ry mornin'!" Jethro? "Ev'ry mornin'!" You? (meaning Granny)..."Well, I ain't so big..." I haven't thought of that in almost forty years... treky 03-29-2006, 01:58 AM when's the last time a "grocery boy" delivered groceries? That goes back to when cab drivers wore uniforms, and buildings had elevator operators (also in uniforms!)  comedyfreak 03-29-2006, 07:50 AM Ahh, the good ole days they had class and style. TV Knowledge Fan 04-13-2006, 06:11 PM ... [for Winston] co-sponsored the first five seasons of the show (1962-'67). I don't know how long Kellogg's remained as alternate sponsor, but I believe Campbell Soup Co. was co-sponsor during the last few seasons {which ones, I'm not sure of}. treky 04-14-2006, 12:55 AM well, I know Kelloggs remained as a sponsor of it in the later years, because I remember seeing Kelloggs cast commercials during the show in the later years, so they probably sponsored it for the entire run. |
