PHOENIX, AZ - A 34-year-old single mother was ambushed and killed by what she would least expect -- her living room corn plant.

Sandra Moore walked in the doorway of her Phoenix home Thursday night when her house plant, which she has been raising for four years, suddenly jumped out and tackled her, reports Moore's 14-year-old daughter Carla, who witnessed the attack.

"It's like something you'd see in a scary movie," Carla told CNN. "I mean, how can a plant come alive? I was just watching Looney Tunes when suddenly I heard screaming and chaos. I ran into the living room and there was blood everywhere, i saw a plant attacking my mom and her small intestines were on the floor."

Carla immediately called 911 explaining that her mother was being viciously attacked by a corn plant. The operator took it as a prank call, and ignored her request for medical help. Panicking, she ran back to the scene and found her mom dead after choking on the intestines.

Police are unsure how the plant could have done this. Some believe it was possessed.

No charges have yet been made. A trial will be held next week. Meanwhile, Carla is being transferred to a foster home.

I agree. And good idea about a news board. Maybe then people will stop whining about having to read a thread that's not about "What's your hair color/favorite whatever?"

While I like following the news, it does seem the threads are just a little excessive lately. I think a news board would do a lot of good(just make sure there's a rule on no politics).

Not really. People just focus on the bad things because that's all people care about. We could blame the news media for only presenting the bad stuff, but they're just giving the people what they want. I've heard that the crime rate is actually down.

News articles in general I don't mind. It's the ones that have disturbing stories in them. If someone posted one of those but left the thread title vague and a warning, I think that's fine.

I was reading through the posts in this thread and agree with most of them,but i decided to quote Lola Dane's because I couldn't have put it better myself.Everytime I come onto here there's some gross news story.Lets escape reality people! I'd rather just have lighthearted conversations. I reckon we should have a news board and all the news stories can go there.That way,the people who want to read about depressing real life can go there,and the people who dont want to,can avoid reading about it.

It's not really a big deal, but having them basically shoved in our faces every single second it makes some of us get sick of hearing about things. If I want to read the news I'll turn on my tv or pick up a paper, I usually skip the news threads, but when you have to scroll past them on chit chat I feel like they're being shoved down my throat :(

New York NY (AFP)- IN New York, a Russian man who had come to America was literally thrown out of his apartment by his girlfriend

Pickup Andropoff , 35, was an immigrant who his girlfriend,Amanda Hugginkiss, 30, was getting annoyed by him

"Pickup was just some random guy I thought would be a good boyfriend, then he inivted me to his apartment", Hugginkiss said , "then he started acting pervertish, looking in to the closet as I was changing, he had pased my annoyance level"

Then Hugginkiss strated screaming at Andropoff, then when he least expected it she opened the window and literally threw him out


Andropoff was then rushed to a hospital where he recovered greatly, he now has a new girlfirend, a prositute named Francine.
