In Spanish today, our teacher decided to tell us about this true colors thing, and help us find out which type we are. There's four types, blue, orange, green and gold...it was like a little test thing, and I came out to be orange...which is witty, goofy, active and likes excitement...etc...So, she asked who got orange and I raised my hand along with other kids. One kid blurted out "whooaa, Ashlee got orange?" But anyway, it got me thinking...people don't really know me and it pisses me off. I hate people assuming who they think you are. Being shy is why I don't appear to be who I really am around most people, and I hate that. Nobody knows me...so...I decided, why not post a thread to say who you really are?[/lamequeer] But in all seriousness...

I'm not a really smart, dedicated student. I get bored sitting down, especially with a subject that doesn't interest me in the least. People think I am. I'm goofy, and dare I say, funny in a way. If someone from school saw me like that, they'd probably have a heart attack. I'm creative, I love coming with ideas and writing them down...and I want people to see them, but I'm afraid of what they'll think...besides, I'm too busy judging what I wrote before I show anyone. I always want to shout out something funny, or try and get attention in classes...but I can't because I'm worried about people judging me in negative ways. I guess you can say I give more than two sh*ts about what people think about me. That doesn't fit my personality at all...and why I think I'm so miserable a lot of the time. I wish I could be who I really am, but all day it's like an act for me. It makes me wonder if I'll ever get where I want to in life.

The end. Just had that on my mind. I need deoderant.

I totally understand what you mean.

I'm really quiet in all my classes...And a lot of times I know things, but I can't be one of those obnoxious people who just says stuff.

I think a lot of it is my "friends." I try to be myself around them...you know, like you're supposed to be able to do...and all I do is get put down for it...Everything I say is wrong or stupid or not good enough. They leave me out of everything and I don't actually understand why we're called "friends" anymore...

But ANYWAYS.

I know exactly what you're saying. It's like you can't really win either way.

My friends in elementary school I was never good enough for, my friends now I'm not good enough for...I'm not good enough in school for my dad. So it's hard to know what to do or who to be. People telling you "just be yourself" is easier said than done. I'm just so scared of what people think because I've been put down all my life and I don't need anymore of it...so I try to avoid it as much as possible.

OMG I KNOW.

This has been happening since like first grade. I'd have "best friends"...Then pretty soon they would start going places without me and not invite me anywhere and leave me out of stuff...And one day we weren't friends anymore. It's happned more than once and it's happening again right now.

I think right now I'm going to start something new...The good ol' theory of "Don't speak unless spoken to." That way, you can't possibly do anything wrong.

I think we were separated at birth.

I think we were separated at birth.YES. My friends never wanted me around and eventually it was just over. Now, since I'm the goof...they just tease me and think they can get away with it like I don't have feelings. I don't know if I'm just overly sensative, but I'll feel like there's something wrong with ME because I can't get along with anyone. I ponder if I'm just making friends with the wrong people, or that maybe I just can't get along with anyone and I really AM from the planet *******. And I'm actually trying to get off of the "don't speak unless spoken to" thing, because that's all I've ever done and I'm miserable.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. They constantly make fun of me and stuff and when I get mad they say I'm too sensitive and crap like that. I know what you mean about being friends with the wrong people...But I can never find the right people. So right now, the wrong people are the only people I have. And it's making life miserable.

Dude, we are totally going through the same thing.

i'm Plaid.

wait, how do you tell what color you are?

i'm pretty goofy in real-life, constantly making smart-ass, sarcastic comments, even at work or other innapropriate times that sometimes earn some strange looks... like the time i was talking to my boss about something and I said, "man thats some crazy poop", but when I am doing something serious I am usually pretty serious.

In school I was mostly sortof quiet; i was never in classes with any of my friends because I was always in AP stuff, but I WOULD sometimes blurt out stuff and get in trouble....depended on the class I guess.

I get bored sitting down, especially with a subject that doesn't interest me in the least.

Hell yeah, me too. It's almost painful for me to sit thru something boring, like a TV show I have zero interest in. It almost pisses me off. Maybe it's because I like to have total control of what's going on, and if I can't change the channel or get up and leave, I get cranky. Or maybe it's just because I hate being bored.

In high school, I was always quiet in class cuz I figured if I opened my mouth, all the acid-tounged popular bitches would think I was stupid and start talking about me. I was self-conscious enough as it is. When I got to college (and started taking Paxil) I said to myself, "**** all you people" and spoke up and asked questions.

I'm really creative, but I never would have shown or told anyone about the stories I had in my head. And I spent too much time drooling over the local *******s that wouldn't have cared if I were dead. I hated my school.

Mine did that to me. Apparently I said or did something wrong and they just decided they didn't like me anymore. When I was going thru my anxiety-attack period, I'd lie to people to get out of going somewhere or doing something just because it made me anxious, and I hated that feeling, and I tried to avoid it as much as possible. So I got a little selfish. Apparently they didn't care to understand. Screw them. They were obnoxious overachievers anyway.

do any of you not like going out in public (walking through a mall, shopping, etc) because you're sort of nervous about seeing people you know there? that happens to me all the time. I never like going in places because there are certain people i don't wanna run into. Usually if I see people i know somewhere, i don't make any eye contact with them so maybe they'll ignore me. omg i hate this about me.

I HATE seeing people I know in public.

the worst part is that it might be someone you don't want to talk to and seeing them could be an embarrassment. It's happened to me and I just try not to even look at the person, i go about minding my business. Either that or I start talking to someone so that other person won't have time to say anything. another reason I hate it is because at school the next day, the person you saw is going to say "i saw you at ________ the other day" and it's embarrassing, especially if its someone you don't like much.

I hate going out in public, but not for that reason. I have social anxiety disorder caused by traumatic events that are caught in my cell walls and inhibit me to be a contributing member of society. Sometimes it's not a problem, sometimes it's so bad that I tremble. I am working on it though. <3

a lot of people i know are that way. i can't walk through a crowded mall alone but i can with a friend. it's certain people specifically you get the feeling you're gonna run into at a store. do you live in the same town you went to high school in?

Yeah, basically. I live 2 miles south of there, but it's still close enough that I do my shopping and mailing and stuff there. Every now and then I'll see someone, but it's rare anymore. Which is nice. I like being totally anonymous in public.

Michael [hXc]

OMG me too. I like walking through stores/malls completely anonymous and unknown. that way i can go anywhere I want without the feeling of running into certain *******s and being recognized. but being in public around here I get the fear of being recognized and associated. I like being just another face in the crowd, with no specific identity and nobody can associate with me.

They were obnoxious overachievers anyway. So are mine. If I say something, I feel like they think I'm full of **** because I'm not as wicked good and outgoing in school as they are.****ers. they drive me insane. they pick on me like they can get away with it, simply because it's me. If I say something, they say I'm overly sensitive. I guess part of the problem is that I can be a jerk myself, but when people do it to me I can't deal with it...but I assume others can. And really, many people CAN deal with that better than me. I just can't. The littlest things can ruin my day.

if someone i hated said something to me that i was offended by, i'd think "hey, that person's a complete *******. why should i be offended by them? they need a life besides picking on people." and i forget about it. But it's hard for some people, and you don't deserve it :)

Hell yeah. Like if someone made a stupid comment to me, I'll let it roll off my back in front of my friends, but when I'm alone, it bothers me. I can't get what they said out of my head, and the thing is, I tell myself to not let it get under my skin, and it always ends up nagging me. So anyways.. back to the topic.. I have great friends, great people around me. No one understands me, I mean REALLY understand me, not even my best friends or family. I'm usually a goof, but I watch what I say, because the simplest thing can start something. That's what I learned here. I think about what I say before I say it. Thank you Sitcoms Online for the important life lesson :bighug:

I'm a relatively quiet, secretive person, so I don't think people know who I truly am, even my closest friends and family, who I act kind of crazy around. I don't know exactly how to describe the "real me," but it's definitely not the personality everyone who knows me sees. I'm just...weird. I want to be unique, but I hate people who try to act like they're one-of-a-kind (even though I act that way when I do strange things to get attention). I'm overly sensitive and easily embarrassed. I'm obsessed with music and movies that other people aren't really into, not because I'm trying to be different, but sometimes I want to have something I can call my own. I hate being alone, but I avoid social situations. I'm easily upset/overjoyed. I'm scared of trying new things. I don't know where my life is going anymore, and I wish I had more of an identity so I'd know what to do. Um...that's about all I can think of right now. :)

My ex-college roommate began to hate me because I didn't study as hard as her. That's cuz I didn't have to (nor did I care to). She hated me because I was smarter than her. What a lame reason to hate a friend. No wonder I became anti-social.
