at school I got paddled a few times,There were a few times when

Luckily, no one has ever hit me at school, but my parents did it A LOT and they still do it to me and my siblings sometimes, usually my mom cuz she has a worse temper than my dad does. I don't cry as much now when my mom does it, I just curse at her in my head :p. But when I do cry, I cry because it hurts emotionally more than it hurts physically. I hate having to go through that crap.

At my old grade school they did corporal punishment. It was a Christian grade school too. Only if you were REALLY bad you got the paddle. I assume they still do it at the school, but who knows. Always thought it was kind of stupid.

I only got spanked by my parents maybe like ONCE in my life and I don't remember if I cried or not.

I never got hit at school but my mom used to spank me quite a bit with a wooden board up until I was around 11 years old. And yes, I cried during and after the spanking.

I only ever got spanked a couple times. I remember once when I was three I got spanked and I laughed which only made my father more mad lol

I don't thik theres anything wrong with getting spanked at school unless its done for a really dumb reason. People need a way to keep kids in line and believe me "time-out" isn't gonna do it.

In our school district, when you enroll your child they give you a form to sign allowing corporal punishment (even in Pre-K)! When my daughter got enrolled I emphatically pointed that if my child misbehaves in school I'd be called and I will take my child home and take care of 'bussiness' myself.

Do the other states that allow corporal punishment not have another school
employee to witness the paddling.In Texas they do and if the child is

I got a spank on the arm by my parents and sometimes my dad hit my on the chin. Oh and I went to Catholic school for kindergarten (sp?) and the worst thing a nun has ever done to me was grab my arm really hard.

Not anymore, now that kids have "rights" and there are these little things called lawsuits that people seem to be able to pick up at Wal-Mart for 96 cents.

Back in the 60s when my parents went to school, that didn't exist. Cuz if you acted like a punk and your teacher didn't hit you, your father probably did when you got home.

:nod: once when I was in 5th grade we had this nasty substitute and my friend asked her a question and the substitute raised her hand to smack him across the face and she went to but he held her hand back and stopped her, then reported her. she got fired. she was a bitch anyway so I think she deserved it. kids go to school to learn, not to get smacked. thats what parents are for.

I think a teacher smacking/spanking a child is like if you went to a friend's house and their parent smacked you. Its not their place to do so they shouldn't.
