We all knew it would happen eventually...

I saw an article about this the other day. Too funny.

HEY, I saw a Penny Lane on the petition--#131901. Coincidence, Marlene?

I feel a little sorry for the girl. At least she has the guts to do with her life what she really wants to, even though everyone else is telling her to do something different. Though she should not blame everyone else for her singing problems.

That's kind of mean. Is she really that bad of a singer?

The jury is still out, but her "live" voice and her "album" voice are very different.

It is kind of mean, (and i like some of her music) but she's absolutely horrendous as a singer and her "career" obviously took zero effort. i feel kind of bad for her for the way everyone overreacted about the SNL thing but she really doesn't have what it takes to be a singer IMO. there's so much she needs to work on.

I haven't heard much of Ashlee Simpson, but I'm willing to give Ashlee Simpson a chance. I really believe the anti-Ashlee hysteria is a bunch of negative hype. Why do people listen to pop music so much if they hate it?

Sometimes you can't avoid it. You go into a store and that's all they play. One store in my hometown that I worked for plays "Oops! I Did It Again" at least twice a day. That's partly why I left for another job!

I'm signing it because Ashlee was the last straw; the record industry has completely purged rock and roll (well, except for Green Day) in favor of teen pop. As Spin wrote, we've gone back to the George Bush / Michael Jackson era that existed before Nirvana released Nevermind. We got to give rock 'n' roll back to the people!!

Am I going to let the music industry keep people from actually playing an instrument with a passion, am I going to let guitars rot on racks at music stores?? TIME FOR REVOLUTION, BABY!!!!! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!! peace:  :guitar:

I don't believe Ashlee Simpson has listened to an Iron Maiden album to save her life.

The only place for teenpop chick singers is worshipping lustfully at the feet of your metal guitar gods as they pull off a blazing solo!!! :notworthy :guitar:  SMELL THE GLOVE, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't need more singers like Ashlee Simpson or Justin Timberlake. We need someone like Roger Chapman. He has a terrible singing voice that sounds like an "electric bleat" that could kill samll game at a hundred yards. And that's exactly what makes a great

ROCK AND ROLL

singing voice!

We need to restore balance to the universe! NOW!! :D

We need to restore balance to the universe! NOW!! :DIt's a little too pretty, too perfect out there, in'nit? Gaaah, is performing Wardrobe Malfunction on Janet Jackson the most rock and roll thing Justin Timberlake has ever done? Wasn't just about less than a year before he was booed off the stage at a concert in Canada with AC/DC and the Stones??

I think we should head down to Hollywood, storm the offices of all the record companies, string up the A & R people who have signed all the teenpop acts and give them a list of demands: like MORE ROCK AND ROLL bands, REAL bands!!! We need an event like the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, or Nirvana on SNL. Or Black Sabbath on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert.

Absolutely! After 24 years of MTV and the evil culture it's spawned, I think pop fans have finally had enough and decided to fight back. It didn't have to be against Ashlee Simpson'; it could have been anyone. Ashlee is simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Geez, if we had the Internet twenty years ago, we could have stopped Madonna before she became the indestructable monster she is now!
