Anyone have any stories? *MIBabe03* 01-20-2005, 08:26 PM Do I have stories? God yes I do! My car has been hit everywhere except for the roof. What's sad is that I wasn't even in my car for most of those accidents. I was only in one where I was moving and it wasn't my fault, because I had the right of way and some moron ran through a stop sign. That guy didn't even have insurance, and at that point I really didn't care. I just wanted to get the hell out of there. AllIWantIsYourClutch 01-20-2005, 08:33 PM Do I have stories? God yes I do! Sorry to hear that your car might be totalled. Thankfully you are okay. I guess the worst damage to my car was on the driver's side door. I parked my car outside my friends house, and her neighbor across the street backed into it. My mom at first wasn't going to get it fixed because the door worked fine. Until the woman called and starting yell at my mom. My mom said forget that, and so we got it fixed. :) Too bad all those other times nobody bothered to leave a note or anything. MissZero 01-20-2005, 08:56 PM I was in one a week before thanksgiving. The guy that hit us came around a corner at 50 mph and on 2 wheels. he totled our brand new car too. I was in shock for about 2 hours. and the whole front end of our car was gone  MissZero 01-20-2005, 08:57 PM That's what happened to me. Except this guy had insurance. Yeah. My car might be totalled though. awww man that sucks....I'm sorry phoebe7165 01-20-2005, 10:49 PM I've been lucky that I haven't really had an accident in a while, but the one I remember I was in, I was hit on my side, near the back. I did a 180. Not hurt much, but I had a really bad bruise from my left shoulder to my right hip where my seatbelt was. Not hurt much, but I had a really bad bruise from my left shoulder to my right hip where my seatbelt was. you're lucky...ou car was spun 3 times and if we had pulled out about 2 seconds later i would've got the impact right in my door  i guess im pretty lucky too. Karen* 01-21-2005, 12:51 AM I don't drive yet, but I'm an accident-prone klutz, so I'm afraid I'll get into one when I do get my license. The only car accidents I've been into were with my parents...Just minor ones because of tail gaters. :p On a more serious note: Two years ago, a girl from my school, a high school senior, passed away as a result of a car accident just two months before graduation. What happened was that it was raining and the roads were really slippery. She was on her way to a community event and she had to drive down a road with a steep curve. Witnesses said she was driving at the maximum speed limit, but for some reason her car fishtailed, jumped the center divider, and I think she was thrown out of the car when an oncoming car hit her. It was really devastating because she was a well-liked scholarly, athletic student and her life was just getting started. The parents of this girl have sued the city for millions of dollars for not putting a guardrail on the center divider (The road where the accident happened had fatalities before and despite protests for a guardrail, they never constructed one). Honestly, I don't know if my facts are right. All I know is that a car accident took this amazing person's life and whatever the status of the lawsuit is (and the fact that a guardrail is there now), nothing will ever bring the deceased back. It's a very, very unfortunate and tragic situation. :( ¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 01-21-2005, 01:19 AM I havent been in an accident yet *knocks on wood*, but there have been a few times where Ive come close. Not hitting other cars, just me driving in bad weather, etc., but its still scary. Sometimes I can drive kinda stupid. dawsongirl 01-21-2005, 01:22 AM My dad and I were going down the street on a day right after a huge snowstorm, so the streets were still icey in spots. The speed limit on that street is 35 and for some reason he was going 40, which is really odd considering he hardly ever speeds. So we get to a stoplight and there's this guy stopped there and my dad tries to stop and doesn't and we hit him. Not much damage (the other guy didn't even want to call the cops), but I was freaking out. I was calling that other guy names and yelling at the top of my lungs. And then there was that time I ran into a parked truck in the HS parking lot. Another snowy day and I couldn't see any of the lines and I decided to park next to someone so I could judge a decent parking spot. I got too close and peeled my front fender back like a banana peel. That was embarrassing as hell. Lady T 01-21-2005, 01:25 AM I got into a terrible car accident when I was 16 that took place at a parking lot. But the last accident I was involved in was when my front tire of my car blew and I wa going 70 on the freeway ( in the fast lane) Thank God my friend and I were not hurt, but I had to take a couple of valium for my nerves :( dawsongirl 01-21-2005, 01:37 AM I got into a terrible car accident when I was 16 that took place at a parking lot. Fortunately it was a back tire, but I was on an off ramp and a cop made me walk thru a ditch so I wasn't standing so close to the road and I couldn't get a hold of my parents. By the time it was over, I was so unnerved I thought I was going to puke on the highway. Lady T 01-21-2005, 01:40 AM That happened to me once too! I was tired as well I was coming back from Los Angeles, and it was like seven in the morning and I wanted to go home to go to bed, but I couldn't! I had to want waut around for a towing truck and then wait another hour for them to add on the spare, then I had to drive home (slowly and carefully) to a place to get a new tired, by ten I was very close of having a nervous breakdown... My friend was in a car accident a few weeks ago. She was stopped at a red light and someone rear ended her going 40. A redhead, in a red car, stopped at a red light....now if that doesn't mean STOP, I don't know what does. And my friend had to wear a neck brace for almost a month and missed about two weeks of class. And in a college class, that's a lot of days to miss. Some lady came up to me and was like "HOW DID HE NOT SEE YOU COMING?! YOUR CAR IS RED!" Janice 01-21-2005, 11:15 AM When I was 15, I was riding my bicycle and got hit from behind by a drunk driver. I spent three days in the hospital and got a bunch of stitches in my head and a broken foot. I was in a cast and used crutches for a while. I remember, in school, I had to leave class a few minutes early to get to my next one, so I wouldn't get trampled in the halls. It was traumatic. I really went flying through the air. I remember lying there, and there was a crowd gathered around me. Despite being injured, I felt embarrassed. My bike was totaled. It was a nice English Raleigh too. Crimson and Clover 01-21-2005, 12:26 PM i havent been in any car wrecks yet, but December 10 2003 my sister was in a head on collision. She shattered bones in her jaw and in her leg. Now she will have metal plates and pins in her face and leg for the rest of her life. Janice 01-21-2005, 12:37 PM My husband's father was killed in a car crash in 1996. He fainted or something behind the wheel and crashed into a poll. It was a terrible fiery crash. dawsongirl 01-21-2005, 09:35 PM a former neighbor/friend of mine and his girlfriend were killed in a car accident in 2000, he was 18 she was 16 I never met her though :( I miss him so much I missed his funeral because I didn't find out about it until it was too late One of my best friends died in June of a car accident. She pulled in front of someone. She was just 23. It bothers me even more today than it did then. I have a way of not putting the past behind me. dawsongirl 01-21-2005, 09:37 PM :p I have a red car. Some lady came up to me and was like "HOW DID HE NOT SEE YOU COMING?! YOUR CAR IS RED!" Hell yeah, I know that feeling. I almost got side swiped today. Hello....my car is CHERRY RED. It's not black or beige or grey. RED. Lee 01-21-2005, 10:37 PM My sister Claire was driving her and me in her car and she drove into an embankment in Giles County Tennessee and came close to killing both of us. I was holding onto my steering wheel for dear life. I knew there was nothing around me I could hit, so I wasnt too worried. Though I did catch myself saying 'wheeeeee' as I spun. Mr. Stefani 02-02-2005, 12:21 AM Figured i'd bump this rather than starta new one... Was in an accident about an hour ago. I was stopped at a light, this guy hits the woman b ehind me going about 50(on a 30). They both plow into me. I hit my head pretty hard, but it's just a headache i'm fine. Cops come, turns out the guy in the last car was drunk without a license. but get this, the woman in the middle(that hit me) was drunk as well. Theres about $3,000 worth of damage to my car all from being rear ended. I was really shaken up, but i'm just thankful it wasn't worse than it was. God driving sucks. Hollow 02-02-2005, 12:36 AM not anything serious. my uncle was driving me and my family somwhere a few years ago when he was kind of drunk. we were in line at a stoplight and he hit the gas and hit the car in front of us. it was kind of funny. he didn't even notice the car was moving. dawsongirl 02-02-2005, 03:21 AM Figured i'd bump this rather than starta new one...
