The heavy snow has moved in. Snowfall rates are at about 1-2 inches per hour, and the snow will continue falling for the rest of tonight.

We have about 7.5 inches right now. Right now its snowing, but the first part of the storm will probably end within the next hour. Then later tonight a low off the coast is going to re-intensifed and dump 5+ more inches here.

-No major intrusions of arctic air.

This should continue for the forseeable future, with a split flow developing in the 10 day period (which means more rain for Southern California, a dry Pacific Northwest, and a potentially warm and dry southeast).

Overall, I'd say a pretty good pattern. :D

This still looks good, and is supported by the GFS also. We all know how good the GFS is, though, don't we? ;)

Actually looks like another trough could move into the Central States/East in the long term, with enough amplification to produce a severe weather outbreak, but it is too far out to tell. It does not look like a severe arctic outbreak will follow this trough. :D

This is the second time we've outdone the biggest predictions by the NWS. They said 3-6" this morning before the snow started.

Hi Beecee, 120?! :eek: Whoa! It's never gotten that hot here in upstate, NY in the summer time. I think the hottest it's ever gotten was 100, maybe 101F. They closed the state offices a couple times because of the heat.

It was nice outside yesterday and when I went to bed last night it was raining. About 7am this morning we had a blizzard. The temperatures dropped and it was snowing like crazy. Right now its freezing out and we are having a wind storm. I think I've had enough of the cold for the year now. I'm ready for spring. :lol:

I'm really sick of winter. I'm definitely ready for it to be over. Tuesday's storm left my corner of New York with 18+ inches of snow and more is on the way tomorrow and into Saturday. They're predicting 7 inches.

I think we've got all of you guys beat. Yesterday almost ALL the snow was gone - only the odd patch here and there. Today - we've had over a foot and its still coming down! My husbands out there shovelling the driveway for the second time today.

I was hoping to post a current pic, but when I reduced it to the right size, it's just too small.

This is the worst storm we've had yet over this winter (and spring????)

It really is. And to think that whole area used to Princess Anne County some 35 years ago. :eek: In fact all of the cities down in that area (Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News, and Virginia Beach) took up what used to be large counties down there.

Actually I know what you mean. I probably couldn't handle the heat and especially HUMIDITY!!! My aunt ALWAYS mentions the weather (seems like Texans are obsessed with it)! So often we hear about how hot it is.

Wouldn't ya know, the one chance I got to make it down there was at Christmas and it was basically the same weather we were having in Canada at the time!! Just my luck! Same deal when I was in Vegas - unseasonably cool - I think I must bring it with me wherever I go!! :lol:

Actually it was perfect here over the weekend. A little cool this morning, but at least that horrible snow is finally gone and you can hear the birds singing. Last April was the driest ever around here, but we made up for it in May with the wettest month in history. :lol:

Yeah it was like that here too. I don't mind dry Aprils though - gives me a chance to get some yardwork done before blackfly season in May! Once they hit, you have about a 10 minute window to get work done before getting eaten alive!! Then you run for your life inside, wait 20 minutes for them to dispurse, and do it again. The buggers just swarm ya!

And I'm pretty sure it was one of the top five.

We tied the record Officially, made it up to 85°F at my house according to my station.

It's still a balmy 74°F at this hour, and the skies are CLEAR which allows for maximum heat loss. This is one heck of a warm airmass we're under. I've been outside most of the day trying to cool off since it's a good 10 degrees warmer inside the house.

It was a beautiful day here finally!! Nice yesterday, but I didn't get outside much because of hosting a family thing. I got out and swept up the decking and started putting lawn furniture out. Tomorrow I've got to hose everything down and wash it. Nice to be able to get out now! The dogs love it too! :D
