When he was a child, it was Nixon. During the show's run, Reagan was in office, so he was his hero then. I'll bet that Nixon and Reagan got a kick out of the hero worship angle. I'm surprised that one of the Presidents didn't appear on the show...or did they? I haven't seen every episode. I know Nixon appeared on the variety show, Laugh-In, light years ago, so it's in the realm of reality. Reminds me of the Harry Anderson/Mel Torme theme on Night Court.
