BenIII 10-13-2001, 10:00 PM Milbourne Drysdale. Corvo_in_SC 01-06-2002, 02:08 PM Surely it's Daisy Moses (i.e. "Granny"). My choice for runner-up would be the deliciously self-centered Margaret Farquahar Drysdale. Pitooey 01-06-2002, 08:10 PM This is hard but it has to be Granny........ Jethro is in 2nd place............ :happyface :happyface Brian 01-06-2002, 09:19 PM 1. Elly May (Donna Douglas) 2. Elverna Bradshaw (Elvia Allman) 3. Mrs. Drysdale (Harriet MacGibbon) Bedsheets2 01-10-2002, 09:42 PM My vote goes to Jethro. Tiger32 01-17-2002, 09:44 PM Well Jethro was the scholar of the group, he made it all the way to the 6th grade. He also thought that this qualified him to become a Doctor. But the way he put away food was priceless, in fact he needed a picnic basket just to carry his lunch! Sean Snow 01-17-2002, 10:40 PM My favs are Granny & Ellie May 17Mar59 02-14-2002, 09:08 PM Jed who was the voice of reason throughout the series and had to put up with both the antics of his kin and the greedy manipulations of Drysdale. Also Ellie Mae.:) Pitooey 02-14-2002, 09:50 PM My 3rd choice has to be Miss. Jane. :happyface  :happyface Beruche 02-15-2002, 05:14 PM My favorite characters are Elly May and Jed. :D :happyface hubbabubba 06-02-2002, 04:43 AM Well Irene Ryan can't be overlooked....what can you say about feisty Granny? She was superb. But I also enjoyed watching Mrs. Drysdale...any episode with her in it is usually a lot of fun to watch. Jane Hathaway was cool too. :) gwizard 06-05-2002, 06:03 PM Has to be a tie between Granny and Jethro... David A Roberts 08-27-2002, 06:26 AM Jed was my favourite character with Granny a close second! All the cast were very strong characters. My list: 1. Jed 2. Granny 3. Milburn Drysdale 4. Jane Hathaway 5. Jethro 6. EllyMay 7. Sonny Drysdale 8. Mrs Drysdale  sami dg 08-29-2002, 08:08 PM definitely Irene Ryan! baronzzz 08-30-2002, 01:08 AM 1. Mrs. Drysdale 2. Jethro 3. Jane Hathaway Loved all of them though. pontoon 08-30-2002, 01:38 PM ...it's Jethro as 'Jethrine'! I can't help laffin' my head off when I see him as her...and that dubbed in female voice! I'm LMAO just thinkin' about her/him! pontoon  McGillicuddy 09-28-2002, 06:43 PM My favorite is Cousin Pearl. I like the episodes with her. I wish she was bought back for more appearances in later seasons. It probably conflicted with her role on Petticoat Junc. McGillicuddy 09-28-2002, 07:20 PM David A Roberts How could you overlook Cousin Pearl, she was the best! David A Roberts 09-30-2002, 12:12 PM Originally posted by markway895 David A Roberts How could you overlook Cousin Pearl, she was the best! I liked Cousin Pearl as well! The day Mr Brewster continued to propose at the Bug Tustle Movie Theatre where she played "Pianni" and he pushed his acting ability too far, despite advice from Jed, nearly killed me! buddy love 09-30-2002, 07:36 PM Granny--definitely Granny-what a hoot. Crimson and Clover 10-05-2002, 08:04 PM Jed W.J. Griffin 10-07-2002, 02:02 PM Me, I like Granny. Hell, you gotta love any woman who can doctor you with a mustard poltice, cook possum innards and make it tasty (not an easy task, I assure you!), distill her own "rhumatiz medicine" (also known as "Tennesee Lightning") and not get busted by the Man, and "rassle" and defeat all comers, from Mrs. Drysdale to "The Boston Strong Girl", yet constantly reaffirms her faith in The Lord. A better woman you'll find nowhere else! BBF 10-07-2002, 02:26 PM Granny all the way! Is anyone else here hungry for some "possum"? lol Novarro 10-09-2002, 07:15 PM Mrs Drysdale without a doubt!! A hilarious woman and every episod ewith her was so special Fan of old shows 10-13-2002, 02:42 AM I like Jethro akirafan 10-28-2002, 10:16 PM Jethro! Duh. treky 10-30-2002, 02:16 AM Jethro, & Granny da514 11-04-2002, 11:20 PM  Granny rules....my next favorite would have to be Jed. SPLAIN 11-14-2002, 04:30 PM My second favorite TV character of all time after Lucy, GRANNY, Irene Ryan! SPLAIN 11-14-2002, 04:31 PM BY the way, love that picture DA514! Eustus Haney 11-15-2002, 08:26 AM As far as a "character" I would say Milburn Drysdale. I think Irene Ryan was certainly the best at acting her part on the show (although they all were perfect at their parts), and I think some of the funniest shows revolved around Jethro's troubles - especially double-knot spying. da514 11-16-2002, 06:11 AM Originally posted by SPLAIN BY the way, love that picture DA514! Thanks, I love Lucy.....and The Beverly Hillbillies....they are the best....I never get tired of watching them.... BundyBoy10 04-26-2003, 03:00 PM Irene Ryan of course. She was great!:) Scoobiedoo30 05-09-2003, 04:39 PM #1 Jed #2 Granny #3 Milburn Drysale #4 Jane Hathaway #5 Jethro #6 Sonny Drysale #7 Mrs Drysale. Aaron LucyLova 05-15-2003, 12:50 PM My favorite characters are in order: Granny Miss Jane Hathaway Elly Mae Mrs. Drysdale Jed Mr. Drysdale I dislike Jethro, I think of him as unfunny and a dope. Brenton 05-30-2003, 04:18 PM In order of most funny in the show, with 1. being the most hilarious character: 1) Granny 2) Jethro 3) Miss Jane 4) Mrs. Drysdale 5) Jed 6) Mr. Drysdale 7) Elly May Bianca 10-08-2003, 02:01 AM My vote is for Jethro, all the way. Then a tie between Ell May and Jed Jethro's funny and a great character. and real sweet and cute Elly may is like me. with the critters and the wrestling and he's a good character as well. Jed because I really Love his set of values and his dancing  and i love the fact that all of them were millionares and they didn't let all the money got to their heads. :talk: :happyface  shel 7296 11-03-2003, 02:47 PM Granny  Bianca 11-04-2003, 12:06 AM That's my brothers favourite too. :happyface vedastone 11-13-2003, 03:58 AM All the main characters were absolutely perfect in their roles. Jed's laid back humor was outstanding, and Jethro's over-the-top ridiculousness was a riot, as was Granny's. But my favorite of all was Sonny Drysdale - he was just too funny - wish he could have been in more episodes. dandelion wine 11-13-2003, 04:28 AM Granny and Jethro BlueEyes1767 12-07-2003, 10:01 AM I would say Jethro. He is much funnier to me now than when I watched the show in the 60s. The episodes where he is the Hollywood movie producer or a "double-naught" spy are especially good. I also get a kick out of Mrs. Drysdale, the perfect snob! Bianca 02-18-2004, 10:51 PM Yep :D He danced in Captin January with Shirley temple. He looked sooo different in the movie breakfast at tifany's. I almost didn't recognise him. treky 02-19-2004, 02:39 AM Originally posted by Bianca Yep :D He danced in Captin January with Shirley temple. He looked sooo different in the movie breakfast at tifany's. I almost didn't recognise him. he also played Davey Croketts (Fess Parker) friend, George "Georgey" Russell in Walt Disneys "Davey Crokett" series in the 50s. That's partly why he was reluctant at first to play Jed Clampett, because he had been cast as a "mountain man" in that, and many other pictures and shows. |
