To answer your question: Cold Hearted.
Last I checked Paula Abdul wasn't all that popular. I think she's ok though. If I had to pick out of that list I'd pick "Forever Your Girl".
Oh and btw Anthony Brixton you misspelled Ginger Rogers;)
musicradio77 11-21-2004, 10:58 PM Wow! "Forever Your Girl", my favorite of the 80's. I like most of the songs "Straight Up", "Opposite's Attract", "The Way That You Love Me" and others. I also choose "Straight Up". She had a date once with John Stamos on "Full House". I like her music. She was the best.:)

actually Paula was huge in the late 80's/early 90's.
He also mispelled Patti LaBelle, lol
Janice Johnson 11-22-2004, 11:49 AM Paula Abdul was one of the singers who was popular without having a lot of sexuality. She is still on top,(American Idol judge) and people still like her. Her music is pure without being tainted with sex. I don't remember any of her songs being sexual.:D She is a role model for people everywhere and singers today. She shows that you don't need sex to sell your music. She was a pure singer of the 80's/90's decade. Kudos and thumbs up to Paula Abdul!;)

Paula did use sex, not to the extent that Madonna or Janet Jackson has, but tell me the Cold Hearted Snake video wasn't sexual with a straight face.

 That's the first thing I thought of when I came in this thread Vash!
I ain't gonna lie - I bought the cassette to Forever Your Girl when it came out. I really digged it & played the heck out of it the first couple months I had it. My favorite Paula song was always "Knocked Out."
jamesanthony 11-22-2004, 10:10 PM Forever Your Girl is my fave, because it's a duet with the Wild Pair who never really took off as artists on their own. As for Paula she has a very thin voice. She even admits as much. On the plus side, she was not super skinny and yet she made a career in the dance world, which is interesting. I don't know if a slightly chunky dance type female singer with thin vocals like hers could have multiple #1 hits today the way she did 15 years ago.
Kazza 11-22-2004, 10:29 PM I was a huge PAULA fan and I still have some of her music and video collection. My fav songs are Cold Hearted- the video is awesome and Straight-up
Moonlight Lady 11-23-2004, 01:44 PM Since I can only choose one, I'll pick "Knocked Out" as my favorite.

I knew it! Even as a young child, I knew something was sexual with that video, but as i got older, I thought, 'Maybe it WASN'T sexual after all, but now from what you wrote Buffy, I am thinking maybe I was right in the first place!

Oh my gosh, I got to see The Cold Hearted Snake video today, and oh my gosh! That video IS sexual! I knew it was sexual since I was a child(But forgot how it went since I haven't seen it in over 15 years), and I even called it a "nasty" video. I didn't know the word "sex" yet, though, so I called it "nasty". It is even more sexual than Janet jackson's "IF!"
crystals 12-06-2004, 08:23 PM My fave is "State Of Attraction", but I also like the songs:
"The Way That You Love Me", "Opposites Attract", "Straight Up" and "Cold Hearted".

Geez, that "Cold Hearted" video looked strange. I used to watch it on MTV back when I was a youngster. According to this book that I have "The Magic of Paula Abdul: From 'Straight Up' to 'Spellbound'", biography writer, Devra Newburger wrote:
"Cold Hearted", her next video to appear on the scene, shook things up even more. In it, she plays a steamy sexy dancer auditioning for producers. The entire video rings familiar with the work of the late Bob Fosse, dancer-choreographer extraordinaire. And that was entirely Paula's attention. In fact, the "Cold Hearted" video was meant as a tribute to the great choreographer. One of Paula's greatest moments was when Bob Fosse compared her work with his early work. "Bob Fosse once made a comment about my choreography in a People magazine interview," Paula says. "He said that he admired my style as a young choreographer, and how I have an unpredictability in my choreography -- the ability to turn right wen everyone expects me to turn left. It was the biggest compilment I've ever received."
Mary Charle 12-08-2004, 02:39 PM Doesn't Straight Up video look a little like Janet Jackson's Love Will Never Do Without You? Look at the parts where they show the closeup of Paula's face. They kind of resemble the closeups of Janet's face. And look closely at the beginning of the video of S.U. The first shot is a shot of paula, sole. The first part of LWNDWY is a shot of janet, sole too. And they are both in Black and White. They also have a few extras in the video too, less than three other people.
Dude111 04-08-2026, 10:20 AM The way that you love me
Straight up
Hawkee 04-10-2026, 03:00 AM I remember being obsessed with Paula Abdul's Forever Your Girl and I wanted a copy and so I bought it when it was on sale at Walmart and not only did I like the album it turned me into a Paula Abdul fan. And so I researched more about her and got all three of her albums. On Forever Your Girl itself it really is a fantastic album and showed what Paula Abdul was going toward. But I think the standout track that made Forever Your Girl a hit was Straight Up and that song became one of Paula Abdul's classics but you can see why Forever Your Girl was a classic album of the 80's because Paula Abdul was unique from Jody Watley and Janet Jackson and Madonna and she really proved herself worthy of winning Grammy Awards. I do wish that Paula Abdul could release a comeback album someday because she really needs a new album and they should release an Anniversary Edition of Forever Your Girl soon as well
