View Full Version : Who is/was a rebellious teenager?
Chambers 11-14-2004, 11:07 PM Any of you?
I'm probably the most rebellious teenager of them all. Why? Because I dared to do what no teenager dared: follow the rules and do everything my superiors wanted me to do. Uh huh, that's what I call rebellious! Not staying up late, not going to cool parties - I'll have none of that! I was going against the majority, dude. In this generation, GEEKS RULE.
See? You can go a long way with a little logic and a little BS. (Where that takes you, however, I'm not sure.)
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 11-14-2004, 11:09 PM Heelllll yeah, I'm right up there with ya, buddy. I'm afraid to even talk in a movie theater so I don't get yelled at. Pathetic. But I'm sensative and if someone says be quiet to me I'll probably cry. more PATHETIC.
robyrob 11-14-2004, 11:13 PM i was pretty rebellious in my teenage years - I was tossed out of highschool MANY times, got into some trouble with the LAW, and generally drove my mom NUTS :)
MaryElizabeth 11-14-2004, 11:18 PM My most rebellious time was when I was 12. I was a huge class clown.
And geeks do rule.
Janice 11-14-2004, 11:51 PM I was Miss All-American as a teen. I never got into trouble, got good grades and did as I was told. I went a little wild in my 20s, but marriage put an end to that when I was 27.
Mr. Stefani 11-14-2004, 11:59 PM My brother and sister were goody goody so i felt the need as the last child to be the rebellious one. I love it. I couldn't imagine any other kind of life.
ThirteenInchEscape 11-15-2004, 12:02 AM I was out smokin' crack, stealing, and having unprotected sex with the best of 'em

i was pretty rebellious in my teenage years - I was tossed out of highschool MANY times, got into some trouble with the LAW, and generally drove my mom NUTS :) oh, and just to mess with my boss, I hid a filter on the firewalls at work that COMPLETELY blocks out the site and ANY references to the Wall Street Journal (I just keep saying - "dunno, their site must be down") :grr:
My story is a bit complicated or contradictory. I've had rebellious thoughts since as long as I can remember, which dates back to about 5 years old. I liked school though. I got good grades and I excelled at sports. I did not like, trust, agree with, or conform to authority. I never trusted adults who were in positions of authority when I was kid, because they frequently seemed to be either dishonest or full of it. I was outspoken about that and acted on it. My opinion about authority figures hasn't changed. Some of you might have noticed that. ;)
Kay Scarpetta 11-15-2004, 07:39 PM Hmm. Well.. up until 8th grade, I was wicked goody-goody. Did my homework, yadda yadda (except I did smoke cigarettes) but I basically just listened to everyone, despite my problems. Well 8th grade came and ***** just.. totally hit the fan. I got into everything that a teenager could possibly get into. Half of it was self-medicating due to depression and other disorder issues, and the other half was, well, just having fun. I was wild and out of control. I also had authority issues. I believed I could do whatever the **** I wanted because I was above everybody and everything, including the law. That got me in a few jams. But then I changed my ways through detox and rehab (unfortunately it came to that), extensive therapy (on top of my regular therapy) and with the help of one or two people in particular.
I've really shaped up compared to what I was last year. I still have my moments; I still look back and think "damn, I wish it was last year..." but then I realize that the stuff I had fun doing were the things that were ultimately going to kill me in the long run.
As for authority, yes, I still have authority issues somewhat. I still have attitude problems that unfortunately have not been kicked out of me yet, but that will come in time and the right combination of meds that will also come in time.
I realize that I wasted two years of my precious life being an ******* and making the most stupid decisions one could ever make and have narrowly avoided death once or twice... and to be honest, sometimes I still do make stupid decisions.. but I'm trying.
EmoJoe 11-15-2004, 07:52 PM Im mostly goody-goody , but sometimes I can be very rebellious.
But im very goody-goody, usually. Cept when I get mad I tend to go overboard....
Im only 12, though, although ill be 13 in June...:
I was a pretty good kid.
As an adult? Total whore.

;) That's the danger in trying to act "right" during your "formative" years.:bonk:
Hollow 11-15-2004, 10:54 PM I basically just rebel against things that i think are stupid and unnecessary. society, unfair authority figures.

I fear that's going to be my fate. *sighs*
Oh well, better get started on that.
Pitooey 11-16-2004, 09:18 AM Hmmmmm..... Me? I rebelled with a capital R.
I was Horrid.
But I had a mother who kept on me...... Of course she gave up and I was on my own.
When I went on to the outside world and saw what was out there I thought of Jesus. I could've died in my lifetime at least 20 times......... But I had an angel beside me.
So today I give thanks to my Mother who instilled in me religion. Now I'm stable.... and I try to give these same talks to my own children.
Lady T 11-16-2004, 02:14 PM I was terribly rebellious; I ran away from home at the age of 16 and dropped out of school, but Thank God, I came to my senses, returned home and graduated from High School with Honors...

Well, I'm glad you are doing better. I'm proud of you for getting help and trying to do better. All we can do is try, and remember that everyone makes mistakes.
I wasn't much of a rebel as a teenager. I tore up some stuff, but nothing serious. I didn't want to go out and drink, do drugs, and have sex because I knew it wouldn't help me in the long run. I just didn't have any desire to rebel.

Um...the mall?? No thanks. I'm trying to let go of my bad habits. No more malls, no more movies, no more school. I'm not going to screw up this phase of my life. It's all about dark alleys, street corners and seedy bars now.

If I'm going to be a decent whore, I don't want to waste my time with school.
