Today I found this in the newspaper on the winning streaks in all of sports.
Baseball-26 games 1916 New York Giants
No team has won more than 21 in a row since 1935(Chicago Cubs). The longest recent streak is 20 set by the 2002 Oakland Athletics.
Football-20 games 2003 and 2004 New England Patriots(current)
And the winner of all sports is:
Basketball-33 games 1972 Los Angeles Lakers
The next longest streaks in basketball is 20 set by 2 teams--the Washington Bullets in parts of 2 seasons in 1948 and the Milwaukee Bucks in 1971.
