I dont think so. It didnt seem to when I got a ticket. But at the time I was under my parents policy and was under my Dads vehicle. So, who knows. I also lost my license because of that, but looking back, I really dont remember the price going up. If it did, it was only by a few dollars.

Ohh but youre also a teenage boy with a sporty car. How fast were you going and how much was the ticket?

The posted limit was 60 or 65 and I was going around 85 maybe 90. I don't see what the big deal is its the freaking highway. It really annoys me how I was singled out over everyone. I have the option of going to some stupid court summons or whatever its called and fighting it or just paying it.

Christ on a cracker.

85 in a 65 on a major highway isnt that bad. I mean honestly.. the majority of people on the highway go over 75. Doesnt mean its right... but still. When we were coming back from The Big E, we were using my car and my mother got pulled for doing 86 in a 65. Just a warning though. And once again, I COULDNT FIND THE REGISTRATION.

Eh, Id just pay it. My mother wanted to fight it when I got pulled over saying I was singled out and it was my first offense, but I was passing everyone to beat them at the merge, so it wouldve been a waste. Plus it was only $72 and she paid it for me. How much is the ticket?

Just pay the ticket. I don't think your insurance will go up if you just flat out pay it. If you dawdle around it might though.

If you were going 85 or 90 in a 65, and you don't see anything wrong with that, you seriously need some driver's education.

Don't bother going to court to fight the ticket. You'll lose. Especially with your 'what the hell is wrong with that' attitude. Judges aren't very impressed with that.

Here in California we have the option to take Driver Ed. classes on a first offense. If you have that option and you take it then your insurance won't go up because the ticket is erased from your record. If you have that option available to you where you are, then I suggest that you take advantage of it. If you don't then if the laws where you are are like the laws in California your insurance will go up.

almost $200. I don't even know to be exact i don't want to look at it it's making me sick. i blame it all on my stupid friend. i tell him to be on cop lookout and he falls asleep:cuss: I really hate cops. I was in the middle lane. The people in the left lane must've been doing at 100 and I get pulled over.

Took drivers ed but thanks. They actually taught us to go above the speed limit on the LIE or else our ass is gonna get killed. We don't have that option here, we could take defensive driving but it doesn't do anything.

I'm not talking about school boy driver's ed. These classes are for first time offenders. I don't know how helpful they are but in your case they would be helpful. They'd be helpful to you financially and they would be helpful to you because you make excuses and, in your last post, you even passed the buck. You sound like an accident waiting to happen. I feel bad for who ever else is involved when it happens.

I would say your insurance will probably rise. I bet mine is still worse than yours though, hehe.

Usually Auto Insurers wont go out of thier way to search the driving record of an insured (you) as long as you keep your policy current. If you want to switch to another company they will do a search of your record and will likely come up with a higher premium factoring in your ticket. Many times if you go to the first court date you can get the charge changed to something else that will not carry any points, or will carry less points. Usually the fine will not be reduced and often can be higher - but at least the points go down.

Damn. Yah see I always drive in the left lane. Always. My parents tell me not to because 'my car doesnt stand a chance' if I get hit. But I hate the middle lane because all the trucks are in that lane, and the right lane.. hell thats just too damn slow, and I swear people just cut you off getting on the highway.

He probably pulled you over because you have a sports car, and if he was able to see you, because youre young.

ALL Insurance companies have at their fingertips the records of the drivers they are insuring or intend to insure. We're talking money here. They don't overlook the opportunity to force someone to pay more money. There is no escaping your record.

I'm not even going to bother. One of my bestfriends was killed in a car accident a few years back as was my grandma so the last thing i'd ever think of doing would be ****ing around with a car. I'd never even consider going over 30 on a damn side street. It's the parkway you can't do 60 with someone driving up your ass cutting you off left and right you're putting yourself at an even bigger risk.

But thank you Crystal. I called my uncle and he's handeling it. He said exactly what you did, the only reason they pulled me over was because i'm some kid in a sports car. He said he'd pull me over too but would've just given a warning.

 I agree. People on the highway are friggan nuts. I have the habit of speeding, but when it comes to a regular side street, Im not going 70 in a 35. Im doing 40, 45 tops.. depending on the road and how well I know it.

No prob. Yah, my mother wanted to fight for me saying I shouldve only gotten a warning, but oh well. Our main thing was to just hide it from my Dad. We did for about a year, til one day he went down to the insurance company to get my own policy since I had gotten myself a car.

They pulled you over because you were going 90 in a 65 zone. No warning needed in your case. Once again, judging by the attitude you've presented in this thread, you gave the cop ample reason to believe that a warning for you would have been useless. You would have laughed in his or her face.

When I got pulled over doing 51 in a 35, I tried to act as innocent as possible. Not to mention I was absolutly petrified. I wanted to die. I was shaking nonstop, I had tears in my eyes, and I couldnt find the registration. All the while Amandas sitting next to me eating Friendlys Ice Cream trying not to burst out laughing. Oh, and when I got pulled over, I went over a sidewalk I was so scared. Then after I was all.. are you gonna tell my parents? And hes like.. do you want me to? LMAO.

Im not saying I didnt deserve the ticket - I know how fast I was going, but they seem to just go after the young kids. Yah maybe us younguns need to be babysat so we learn early, but cops should start going after people on cell phones too. Thats all I ever see.. I thought that was a law too!

These excuses that you and he are making are not changing that simple fact. It worries me for you and all of us that you think that it does.

They = cops.

And like I said in my post.. I never said speeding was right. I admit I was going over the limit. Im not denying it.

:) You asked for everyone's opinion. I gave you mine. Very ungracious of you to smart mouth me for having done so just because you didn't like the opinion that I gave.

In Massachusetts, any moving violation makes your point rating go up, and our insurance rates are based on that rating.

They stay on your record for six years. We pay $600 more a year because my husband ran a stop sign and got a speeding ticket five years ago. He's a 'Step 14' as they call it. I'm a perfect 'Step 9'.

We have another year to pay for his past driving sins and his rating goes down every year that he has no moving violations. All the parking tickets in the world won't affect the rates, only moving violations.

I'm surprised it's not that way everywhere. Insurance premiums skyrocket with bad driving records here.

I'd watch that lead foot. Dangerous to you and others, and quite costly too.

The ticket stays on your record for 3 years(or more, it varies) So it will def. affect your insurance, the one and only ticket I got raised my insurance.

Nope, they know, tickets stay on your record for 3 years(or more, it varies), keeping policy current really won't matter, if you swtiched insurance co.'s they'd raise the rate higher than the one a person was at before

Must vary from state to state, cause here in Ohio, a ticket is only on your record for 3 years :)
