Lucy Talk 'passed away' earlier this year. The owners were too busy with their newfound parent role and had to cut expenses; including the board.

I agree with Lodee and Lucy 101. Whatever took place happened last year. Get over it and move on with your life. It's funny, every time there's a lull around here someone brings up all kinds of unnecessary junk to stir the pot. Furthermore I know those girls from Lucytalk and I know they would not have jumped on anyone unless they were jumped on first. That did happen quite a lot. Liz, in my opinion, had every authority in the world to call the shots because it was HER website after all! Plus I never saw Sherry and Jen do anything, here or there, except defend themselves when people criticized them or their opinion. You know, there is only one person in the whole world that I know about that loves to keep bringing this stuff up. Without naming names, she was a member of Lucytalk until she got canned for calling someone else an unprintable name in an uncalled-for situation. "Shanda Lear", would that happen to be you? Anyway, just leave those girls alone. They obviously don't want to start anything with you or else they'd be here, right? Looks to me like they don't give a rat's patootie about you so you should do the same and drop it like a pile of books.

Welcome Lucyfan4life! We're glad to have you here! I also noticed this forum has been kinda dead lately, but I think with new people joining and the second season on DVD just being released, there will be more activity in this forum!

Yes it may be "dead" here but starting up trouble is not what i would call new topics I was thinking maybe we can get this place going with more topics? Well I never wanted any trouble to begin with and I don't think I cussed if I remember correctly. If I did, then I apologize. I just want everyone to get over what happened a long time ago (and on a different board yet!). I meant new topics like more discussion on the DVDs...and there's that new book due out to the public next month....remember the new scrapbook? I can't wait for that! Who else is ready for it? Also more about Lucy herself would be great!

I kind of enjoy the atmostphere that's here with people who actually are respectful of one another and tolerant of diverse opinions, and who regard Lucille Ball as a hugely talented performer/human being, not as a goddess they must pray to.

Please! I do not want this place to become anything like Lucytalk. The wonderful thing about this group is people are mature and are permitted to express honest opinions about I LOVE LUCY, Lucille Ball, and other members of the cast. We're able to be fans of the show and still be real. The opinions are always expressed with respect, even if they may sometimes be blunt and honest. But the freedom to be able to truly delve into what Lucille Ball and others involved with the show were really like is what makes the discussions here so interesting. The inability to do that in Lucytalk made for very boring conversations. In fact, the atmosphere there kind of creeped me out because it seemed nothing more than cult-like idol worship.

Incidentally, I was never banned from Lucytalk; I left voluntarily. I was treated horribly by the aforementioned individual and a few others in her clique just for expressing the kind of opinion that no one here would even bat an eye over. They made me feel extremely unwelcome. It was very hurtful, so I came straight back to this far more tolerant and mature group, where I have always been treated with open arms, and I never went back.

And by the way, I know of at least two other people besides Shanda and me who had the same experience in Lucytalk.

Okay, another thing. There were times when I got into some horrible fights with people on Lucytalk. I admit it. It usually started with namecalling. I never intended to sound like I put Lucille Ball on a pedestal. She was human like the rest of us. So I don't know where that stems from. But nevertheless everything that happened there was usually resolved pretty quickly and we moved on. What makes now any different from then? I'm still the same person, just a little bit older....and maybe, er, wiser?

Without dawdling too much, I guess I'm sorry you guys didn't have a good experience at Lucytalk. It's too bad. That is where I met some of the best friends that I have.

Okay, let's see.....Jen left here sometime (which was good for everyone, herself included) at the end of last year or something if I remember right and I moved here in June just after I graduated from high school to settle in for college. I couldn't give two hoots about what happened in the past between who and on what forum. I guess a lot of people have been hurt by your actions, myself included. And it seems by the derogatory comments in your posts now that even more people are set out to follow a similar fate. I could say so much more, but I'll stop there. I just wanted to commend Mel on the nature of her posts, responding politely and pleasantly to any negativity. ;)

thank you for saying that I agree with you and I think you have done nothing of the sort to deserve such ridicule and comments and also for the person who 1st started this post I frankly wish you had not(not meaning I wish you never ever did but this post is taking up to much room and is getting really boring and horribel)
