Anyone else love this film? Its one of my favourites, anyone else agree? I always cry at some points in it and laugh at some points in it. Great film, and a great acting job by Mr. Downey Jr.

I think it's one of Downey's best and it is one of the better biopics of a Hollywood legend. Moondance 08-15-2004, 04:45 PM OK, I've got some issues involving the real Charlie Chaplin, but I did watch the movie and it was portrayed so well by RDJr! He is such a cutie - even now *sigh* Feen Penny Lane 08-15-2004, 09:24 PM Originally posted by Moondance OK, I've got some issues involving the real Charlie Chaplin, but I did watch the movie and it was portrayed so well by RDJr! TJL 08-15-2004, 09:52 PM "Chaplin" is a very good film. I thought it was one of the most underrated films of that year. Moondance 08-16-2004, 06:25 PM Query: Why did Charlie Chaplin hate Christmas? I remember reading this, but it's been so long ago - I've drawn a blank. Feen Pentimento 08-17-2004, 10:49 AM Originally posted by Moondance Query: Why did Charlie Chaplin hate Christmas? I've never heard that he had a dislike for Christmas, although he did die on Christmas day. I suppose that could have put him off the holidays. I agree that Chaplin was probably the best work that Robert Downey Jr. has done, or is likely to do. I'd like to think he could still get his life and career back on track, but when one of his more recent "triumphant" returns to acting after several rehabs and jail terms was a recurring role on Ally McBeal (as that show was gasping its last stale breath), I figured he was about done. It's sad when truly talented people seem to actively seek out ways to mess up their lives. He could have been one of Hollywood's great ones. Great film, and a great acting job by Mr. Downey Jr. I also love Chaplin, and Robert Downey Jr. He's one of my personal favorites, as is the movie. All throughout the movie, I found myself crying (losing his first love, when he and his wife are at the Academy Awards and he finally recieves the attention he should've been given all along.) So many other moments, but those are the ones that really did it for me. And, of course he made me laugh. Robert Downey, Jr. is a fantastic actor with talent coming out of his ears and I hope he keeps his life and career on track. Less Than Zero is pretty depressing but I've always liked it, too. |
