I think Who's The Boss? could work too, a romantic-comedy. Brian 08-14-2004, 11:30 PM I think The Partridge Family would make a good movie. spunkygirl 08-14-2004, 11:30 PM Originally posted by barwars That wouldve been my top pick.... but seeing that it's already coming, I didnt include it. I would say Bewitched as well, and of course WTB? :D Boy Meets World could possibly work too :D barwars 08-14-2004, 11:34 PM Originally posted by Angela Micelli Yeah I would def. watch IDOJ on the big screen. I would say Bewitched as well, and of course WTB? :D Boy Meets World could possibly work too :D I agree with the first 2, but now BMW. The characters changed too much for a movie to be based on it. Whereas the other shows listed on this thread featured characters that basically stayed the same from beginning to end. For example, like BMW, a show like Cheers, Seinfeld, Friends or Frasier could never work -- because the characters went through such big changes through the series. And still, other series couldn't make good movies because the series star made the show what it was (ILL, TDVDS, TCS) James"Thunder"Early 08-14-2004, 11:48 PM Originally posted by barwars I think Good Times, Gilligan's Island, Green Acres, and Sanford & Son would make very good movies. Actually a Good Times movie is in the works. their choice of actors isn't too good. tvfan 2 08-14-2004, 11:53 PM Quantum Leap Macgyver The A-Team The Hooney mooners Alf barwars 08-15-2004, 12:13 AM Originally posted by King Forrester Actually a Good Times movie is in the works. their choice of actors isn't too good. Awesome. I think it could work ala The Brady Bunch movies. Have them be a family "living in the 70s" although they're surrounded by the ghetto of the new millenium. JT 08-15-2004, 12:59 AM "Laverne & Shirley" "The Golden Girls" "Three's Company" - with just the original characters "The Flying Nun" "Mister Ed" "Green Acres" factsoflife 08-15-2004, 01:02 AM The Facts Of Life. If they wanted to make it like The Brady Bunch Movie and spoof it it could work well. treky 08-15-2004, 01:52 AM Originally posted by Angela Micelli Yeah I would def. watch IDOJ on the big screen. I would say Bewitched as well, and of course WTB? :D Boy Meets World could possibly work too :D they are doing a "Bewitched" movie. It starts filming next month, and it's scheduled for realease in, I think, December. It's gonna be with Will Farrell and Nicole Kidman. Ant-Lox 08-15-2004, 06:46 AM Seinfeld, The Cosby Show, Married With Children...they could make good movies out of those shows... Superstar 08-15-2004, 08:23 AM That's So Raven (but thats starting production in January), Charmed and Boy Meets World EmoJoe 08-15-2004, 11:57 AM I Dream of Jeannie, Charmed, and Bewitched. Dean Winchester 08-15-2004, 03:26 PM unless you can get the original casts like the Star Trek movies and the X-Files, and planned upcoming Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Roswell movies.... 9 out of 10 times it's a bad idea. I did like the Brady Bunch movies, they were fun, because they stayed true to the series, as well as keeping the irony of having them as they were in the early 70's into a mid-90's atmosphere. But most of them time, there are movies like Charlie's Angels (fun, but missed the point of the series), Car 54 Where Are You (Rosie O'Donnell must thank her publicist that they didn't release the said movie until 4 years after it was made and she'd already gotten popular) and Leave It To Beaver that accomplish nothing and are nothing compared to their original series. Mr. Monitor 08-15-2004, 03:34 PM How about The Jeffersons, Family Matters, and Mash. Dean Winchester 08-15-2004, 03:46 PM Originally posted by Mr. Monitor How about The Jeffersons, Family Matters, and Mash. M*A*S*H was actually a tv adaptation of a movie, if they decided to make a new movie, it'd pale in comparison to the 1970 Robert Altman flick treky 08-15-2004, 04:04 PM they were going to make a sequel to "M*A*S*H" in 1971, based on the second book in the series. (there were something like 10 books) but they decided to make a TV series based on the first book instead. They figured they could keep costs down, since they already owned the rights, and the outdoor set was still standing. treky 08-15-2004, 04:07 PM Originally posted by RurryMicelli I Dream of Jeannie, Charmed, and Bewitched. I heard that an "IDOJ" movie is being planned. treky 08-15-2004, 04:11 PM "Gunsmoke" "Bonnanza" and "The Honeymooners would be good. I heard a while ago that they want to do "The Honeymooners". Last I heard, they wanted Tom Arnold as Ralph. EmoJoe 08-15-2004, 04:22 PM Originally posted by treky I heard that an "IDOJ" movie is being planned. There already was one  Are they doing another one? Cactus Jack 08-15-2004, 04:26 PM Happy Days Theyve been re doing cop shows lately so Miami Vice The Jeffersons The Munsters Some of the ones mentioned would be good too! Get Smart ( their's already one planned to do, and steve Carrell will play Smart ) Dean Winchester 08-15-2004, 04:30 PM Originally posted by treky they were going to make a sequel to "M*A*S*H" in 1971, based on the second book in the series. I bet they're happy in the long run that they went with the tv series.. paid off better Cactus Jack 08-15-2004, 04:37 PM It would be hard to redo one of the "The ___________Shows" into a movie The Simpsons would make a good movie too, but theyre already planning one, its not live action though Ummm Cheers maybe treky 08-15-2004, 09:11 PM Originally posted by RurryMicelli There already was one  Are they doing another one? there was? Hes on the Daily Show, he was also that anchor guy in Bruce Almighty that Jim Careey hated db108108 08-16-2004, 10:32 PM I think that the shows that would do the best in movies would be the one with a base of ideology behind them. Like the magic on Charmed, evil on Buffy, conspiracy on The X Files, ect. I don't think that most comedies would lend themselves that well to movies. I love Roseanne, but I think that a Roseanne movie would be a horrible idea. They would have to take a plotline and stretch it out to 1 1/2 hours, make it sensational enough to go and pay $10 to see; in the end, it would not be true to the series. Bewitched could be fun, but I'd like to know what the plot is first. factsoflife 08-16-2004, 11:30 PM Bewtiched is currently in the pre-development stages, meaning they have not yet found a cast, director and writer. Its been in development for sometime. Names such as Resse Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock have been mentioned for the lead role of Samantha Stevens. Matthew Broadrick has been mentioned as a possible Darrin but none of this has come to be true as of yet. As for IDOJ, last i heard it was also in the pre-pre development stages with Jessica Simpson being attached as a possilble Jeaniee. treky 08-17-2004, 12:59 AM I don't know where you heard that about "Bewitched" but I heard it's going to start filming next month, with Will Farrel & Nicole Kidman as Samantha & Darrin. factsoflife 08-17-2004, 01:52 AM Well thank you for updating me. i did not know that information. |
