My friend and I saw an episode and his mom said it's inappropriate for kids. What do you think? My friend and I liked it though.

I was watching Conan as early as 1995, so whatever. It didn't offend me then and it still doesn't. I remember my parents hated it when I stayed up late to watch Conan. :lol:

we used to watch it in class alot.

It was on at 12 for quite a while on Comedy Central (right after lunch was over) and everyone would be in the history teachers room watching standup, then I had an elective class in there 3rd period, and this teacher was really lazy, so we would watch it for 10-15 minutes (or the whole class). I'm not sure if i had seen it before then though, I dont remember thinking "Wow, Conan, I've never seen this before" so i must have watched it a least occasionally before that

I think Conan is awesome but heck, yeah, it's inappropriate for kids!! Especially with characters like the masterbating bear!! Triumph gets pretty bad, too. Some of those analogies he does, too. Now I'm no prude but even I'm saying "Dammit"! And how many times did they show that "Max on Max" scene?

When I have kids I wont try to shelter them until a certain age,i will just let them see things when they are mature enough to understand them (and not be traumatized in the case of some of my favorite movies)

My mom was really uptight, and my dad was careful but not NEARLY as uptight, so we were able to watch pretty much whatever at my dads (Except beavis and butthead, but that is just because my stepmom finds a fewthings to spaz about for no reason). Anyhow, I was able to see such things anyway, and it just made me frustrated with my mom for being uptight for no reason.

well kids are (ideally) smarter than they are given credit for, I'm convinced that treating them like adults, and letting them make some of their own decisions at a young age will greatly aid development.

I dont see a problem with a kid seeing a movie with a bunch of swearing as long as they are old enough to understand to not get in trouble at school with it, and I dont mind them seeing violence as long as they know not to mimic it, which they should figure out at a pretty young age.

I <3 CONAN! I have been watching him all summer .. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do when I go back to school. But it is sort of inappropriate for kids .. even though I watched it with my 9-year old brother .. didn't bother him.

But, if they came across him on Comedy Central -- it would be fine by me.

I'm 16 now, and I've been watching for a little over 3 years.
I always stuck to the Comedy Central nextday repeats.... but for about a year Ive been watching him practically nightly.

Conan is a genius.
My kids will be FORCED to have good taste.
And Conan.... is just plain good taste.

My mother finds it a tad raunchy [yet funny] at times, but she doesn't give a **** what I watch/listen to, so...

Ive been watching Conan since the summer before senior year... 3 years now! I would say it is a tad mature for those under 16 (thats the mininum age required to see him live). I think the one thing that is most inappropriate for kids is Triumph The Insult Comic Dog. I, personally, adore him, but my mother thinks hes raunchy. Well he is, but its hilarious. And of course, the Masturbating Bear.

My mom would never know I was watching it if I did at 6 because she only knows about the 12:30 time slot. Yeah, no SNL either. Or Whose Line is it Anyway. My friend can watch that but he can't watch Conan! If he can watch that then he should be able to watch conan.

BTW at my friend's house I was looking on the refridgerator and my friend's second cousin married someone who looks just like conan. I thought it was him when I saw the picture.

She has never seen Conan but she doesn't think it sounds appropriate based on what she's heard about it.

SNL- She watched it when she was about 15 and thinks the humor of it is too old for me.

To answer the original question that was asked...some of the comedy bits on Late Night are too suggestive for younger kids, but a lot of it isn't inappropriate. So, yes and no.
