Why do some characters where the same clothes for every single episode?

Because they're cartoons characters. There's no wardrobe division on the set of "The Flintstones" or "The Simpsons".

Seriously, it's probably just easier for animators to have one particular appearance for an animated character. It takes extra work trying to have characters appearing in different clothing from time to time.

This is something i've always wondred too. I think it probally is just to save time. But what always bugged me is when a cartoon character opens their closet and they have all the same outfit hanging up, is it so hard to paint a few different outfits in the closet?

Its suppossedly a joke.

One time on THE PROUD FAMILY, they had an episode where Penny wanted a new outfit, she said: "Im tired of wearing the same thing!". But her new outfit she bought was the same exact thing. lol.

at least they don't do what they used to do in the animated "Dick Tracy" show in the early 60s-they would sometimes just show the back of a characters head so they wouldn't have to go through the expense of drawing their face!:lol: :lol: :lol:
