When I used to have AOL or MSN and had to call tech support I would say to myself "please let me talk to an american"! Then someone from India would get on the line, ugh! I couldn't understand what the heck they were saying! I had to keep asking them to repeat themselves. I can't believe how many companies are outsourcing.

I had the same problem with my Xbox. I call to complain about it not working, and I get this Pakistani..you'd think I was talking to Babu or something. I got a whole lot of nothing out of that conversation, and ended up buying another system..

ask to speak to a manager and complain - and if that doesnt work, call or write a letter or email to the companies' corporate office or President.

almost every major computer company and ISP has started outsourcing tech support to other countries, but they all still have SOME people still in the states, so call and complain now if you dont like it.

I've had a couple of bad experiences with Gateway tech support. One woman spoke maybe 10% English. She was trying hard, and I felt bad for her. I was actually spelling out words for her. It felt like a skit. Finally, I had to ask for someone else.

My mom was on the phone with Dell once and she was talking to some Indian guy that she couldn't understand and then they were switching her to someone else and this thing said, "We are now transferring your call back to the United States."

So these people really are in India.

I've had problems like that too, trying to understand people when calling for assistance. Then a few nights ago I saw something on TV about how they are giving these jobs to people overseas because it is so much cheaper to pay them than to pay someone in America. It's pretty sad IMO.
