View Full Version : CD-Rs
Ohio8 07-31-2004, 02:43 PM What brand do you use? I currentlu use Memorex, but for the past several months only 50-60 percent of the mutiple packs I've bought have been usable, and I've had to throw out the rest! Looks like I'll be buying TDK and Sony CD-rs from now on.

same here, even tho I refuse to use Imation because I used them once and the sound quality was so bad
diezman 07-31-2004, 10:45 PM I've had problems with Memorex CDRs too:mad:
I use Sony CDRs now - haven't had a problem yet

Me, neither. They're a bit more expensive, but they're really the best quality out there.
vashti1999 07-31-2004, 11:02 PM I have this thing for TDK. I've used other discs but TDK is my preference. They work well for me.
SBTB Geek 08-01-2004, 03:04 AM Memorex has worked best for me, Maxell in the other hard... :o ... terrible. As for CD-RW's, I prefer to use TDK.
I've actually never bothered with CD-RWs. Has anyone else?

I have. I used to have a portable Panasonic cd player that was able to play cd-rw discs. Traveling to and from work, I'd always have music with me. I'd use the disc to burn cds of whatever 15-18 songs I'd been listening to most at the time, erase the disc then burn a new collection when I was tired of the old one. Those discs came in handy when making a compilation that you knew you didn't want to keep. Instead of burning and finalizing a cd-r, you could use the cd-rw as often as you wanted.
musicradio77 08-01-2004, 11:39 AM I can other CD-R brands like Imation, Maxell, TDK, Memorex, Verbatim, AT&T, etc.:)
robyrob 08-01-2004, 11:44 AM i buy whatever is cheapest, and i havent had any problems.
right now i am using "Cicero" 48x cdr's that came in a 100- spindle for about $18
AllIWantIsYourClutch 08-01-2004, 12:25 PM Right now I used Dynex and they suck.
I don't really care about the burning speed imprinted on the packaging, as I always burn at 4x (the slowest speed possible with my burner) to avoid jitter.
Kay Scarpetta 08-01-2004, 06:51 PM I have Maxell, and they're good. The sound quality is pretty decent.
I HATE Memorex with a passion. I had a pack of 50, and I think 15 of them were usable. Waste of time and money :o
Ohio8 08-02-2004, 11:15 AM I agree with the post about Imation. I've used Maxell a few years ago, and there were skips so I've rerecorded what was on them, and then I tossed the Maxells in the trash.
