What do you think the Top 5 overrated movies were?

Mine:
5. Cheaper By The Dozen -It was good, but not as good as everyone said it was.
4. Pirates Of The Carribien - Wow everyone went on about what a spectacular movie this was, and I saw it and it STUNK
3. Spy Kids Sequals (#2 and #3) OK the first one was great, the second one was ok, though it was pretty bad, and the third one STUNK. The plotline was stupid and the whole "Spy Kids" plot had just gotten old. And the third one didnt even make sense.
2- Eight Crazy Nights- I saw this movie- not out of choice, but at a birthday party. Everyone said it was great but I didnt like it. It was just so stupid, the plot hardly made sense.
1- Spider-Man I was never a fan of the whole Batman/Spiderman/Superman thing, I liked the origininal Batman series, though. I never liked the cartoons or the comics though. Everyone I know LOVED Spider-Man but I found it so stupid. I couldnt even finish it, it HAD to be one of the worst movies i have seen.

1. Cheaper by the Dozen - not as good as original. plus everyone makes a big deal out of it.

2. Lord of the Rings-Return of the King - I saw it with my best friend and it was so boring I fell asleep

3. Eight Crazy Nights - Same thing happened with me as with Rurry. Very vulgar and stupid. At my friend's imfamous party the kids had to watch that while the adults got to see "It's a Wonderful Life":o

4. A Summer Place - It was sad and I didn't particularly like the plot either. I just hated the way the daughter was treated by her mother:mad:

5. Spy Kids 3 - The Spy Kids theme was worn out by the time they got to this one

Rurry I agreed with a lot of the ones you said.

Personally I liked "Pirates of the Carribean". I normally don't like Johnny Depp but he was great in that movie. So was Orlando Bloom.

to add to it, I also thought Willem Dafoe was terrible and not menacing one bit, and I also really hated the way they completely changed the character of Harry midway into the movie, going from a teenage slacker to yuppie with two snaps.

1. Titanic - The only thing I liked was the special effects, which get an A+ in my book. However, I thought the movie was too long, 3 hours and 14 minutes was too much. I thought this was the most overhyped and overrated film of all time. I think if it wasn't a romance and had a different premise, I would have liked it better. I viewed it as a chick flick.

The worst thing about it was Celine Dion's song for the film, "My Heart Will Go On." I remember radio stations felt the urge to play it ad nauseum as if it were the greatest song ever.

2. Vertigo - I like Hitchcock's movies but I just couldn't get into this one. I couldn't understand the premise of it. I can see why the movie was panned by critics when it was first released and why it didn't too too well in the box office.

Those are the only two movies I can think of.

Sorry, but you will get hell for this, boy. Nah, I won't give you hell.

But I will say that Titanic was as much a sugary, sappy, empty "love story" as it was an action-packed flick. Both of these qualities (which are stereotypically labeled feminine and masculine, respectively) were bad. The film was bad not because it was a "chick flick," but because there was no substance.

yes, and god Rose was an idiot for not making Jack promise he wouldn't die... just like he made her do.

don't forget the super-sappy "remix" radio stations played of the song using dialogue from the movie, it was stupid

The way I see it, Rose was an idiot for not making Jack promise he would die.

I would have been happy to see both of them drown 30 minutes into the film....if not sooner.

Spiderman was amazing. I don't can't see someone disliking it, but I'll respect your judgement.

Return of the King Okay This is the most overrated movie EVER! It won like every oscar. I was surprised it didn't take best foreign film. I don't think I could sit through this entire movie ever again. I just can't stand it. Frodo & Sam were the most annoying characters in the history of film. I wanted them to die so badly. This movie had nothing new to it. Everything that had happen could've been wrapped up in about 25 minutes. It tried way too hard to reach emotion and I felt no compassion for the characters. There wasn't even a villian in this movie. I will agree that the war/battle scenes were excellant, but my main problem with the movie was that after aragon becomes king...why are we still watching the movie 20 minutes later? I mean, why do we need a 10 minute scene of the hobbits hugging. Awful. I wanted to poke my eyes out. I will never watch the last 20 minutes ever again, if i even choose to watch this film again. I didn't really care for the two towers either, the movie was buildup for the entire ending scene with the battle and sure it was amazing scene but Frodo & Sam went in circles, nothing had happened what so ever. I really enjoyed the first one and I wouldn't say they were horrible movies but there were two many things I didn't like about them to praise them as one of the greatest movies ever and there is no way this movie should've won best picture. If you've never seen the trilogy, my advise for you is to watch all of FOTR, the last half hour of TTT and maybe 20 minutes of ROTK. Thats all the trilogy is worth to me. I don't think anything will ever be as overrated as ROTK.

Brian I agree with you. This is the only Hitchcock film, besides Family Plot, that I think are his worst ever.

I'd also like to point out that if Rose had gotten on the damn life boat, like Jack wanted her to, then maybe Jack could have survived. Ugh that movie is too overrated.

I loved Vertigo. Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak are two of my favorites from that era. I love all of Hitchcocks movies except Rope. That movie was so boring.

Anyway the only movies I can think of that were overated that I didn't like were Armegeddon and Independence Day. I never understood all the hoopla over those films.

American Beauty, and Monster. I couldn't stand either one.

Titanic ('97) After the second hour I was actually rooting for the iceberg to smash into both ships at the same time through somekind of fourth dimension with everyone perishing, including that old bag. If there's a second time for James Cameron he should take on something he can handle like the sinking of The Love Boat.

Titanic ('97) Please refer to previous film.

Titanic ('97) Please refer to previous film.

Titanic ('97) Please refer to previous film.

Saving Private Ryan ('98) Excluding the first half hour of the D-Day landing, this is yet again that jelly donut chomper filmmaker Steven Spielberg feeding his American audience with some old fashion feelgood sugary propaganda.
