View Full Version : I might never come back....
G-Force Glockstar 07-21-2004, 07:06 PM if my Dad takes my computer out of my room.
You see, I have a limit on my computer and I've been having one for about 2 years already. And I've always abused my my limit my going over it.
So last night my Dad gave me my final chance. He said if he ever catches me on the computer for more than one hour a day, he's going to take it out of my room and I'll never get to come here again :( :( :(
I won't even be able to use his computer, or anybody elses.
It'll be a nightmare!!!!
I probably won't get it back for either a loooooooooooooooooooooong time or until I'm 18.
I hope I don't get it taken away. My life is heck without the computer!
I would hate to be away from here for over four years! :(
EmoJoe 07-21-2004, 07:09 PM Well, than you could just...not abuse the limit
I hope he doesnt do that
But you should explain to your dad that you have tons of friend here and he would be taking away friendships if he did that, and taking away friendship is a terrible thing to do.
Or tell your dad that your life is heck without the comp.
EmoJoe 07-21-2004, 07:18 PM And sometimes parents just say things like that to scare it, your dad might not really mean it.
What is your limit?

I'll try not to abuse the limit, I'm being verrrrry careful! Right now I only have about 20 more minutes on the computer.
I can't tell Dad I have friends on here because my parents don't believe online friends are really your friends, but I don't agree with them.
I would hate to lose my closest friendships. To be honest, I talk with all of yoru guys here more instead of my real life friends.
My Dad knows my life is heck without the computer (I think), but he doesn't really care because he thinks I'm on it too much and it's kinda true.
But I really want computer to be my life!
He shouldn't care if I'm a computer addict. He's lucky I'm not drug addict (which I would never take drugs).

No, he said he REALLY means it this last time. I swear, he's telling the truth :(
My limit is one hour a day.
Yes, I know it's a pain in the everywhere!

Maybe you could go on for one hour a day from now on :)
Itll be hard at first, but youll get used to it in a while, and just think, at least youll still be able to come here. :)
Maybe if your REALLY good from now on your parents will extend your limit. :)
YOur entering your teenage years and life will probably seem hard but youll grow out of that stage.
Oh what do I know, im only 12
EmoJoe 07-21-2004, 07:28 PM Ill help you remember too, just tell me what time you got on and ill tell you once its been an hour.

Ok, thanks! But sometimes I get off and on.
I have to go in a few minutes to my Aunt and Uncles house.
I might miss some episodes of WTB, but hopefully I can watch the rest when i get home.
G-Force Glockstar 07-21-2004, 07:35 PM I'm going now. I have about 9 more minutes of my limit.
Bye!

swedeace 07-21-2004, 08:56 PM I agree. I would talk with your dad about compromising. You will not be on the internet for too long. Tell him you will compromise on that because you have been writing with people you consider friends, so you feel it's important for you to keep a limit so you won't lose touch with these wonderful people. If he sees you are being sincere about your online friends and are willing to compromise so you won't lose touch with them, then he may realize, "Wow! They are very important to her." Good luck! :)
I can see how it may seem to people who don't make internet friends how they won't understand having internet friends. If they've never made online friends, then they wouldn't really care. However, we who have made internet friends find it can be a wonderful thing!! I have tons of internet friends - a lot whom I have met in real life. I find it easier to make online friends than offline friends because people get to read what you post and don't judge what you look like. That's a really nice thing.
On the bright side, internet-accessed computers are everywhere. They're found in public libraries, other people's homes, at school, etc. So accessing them might be easier. ;)
musicradio77 07-21-2004, 09:07 PM FullHouseFan, I hope you can watch your time limit. An hour online would be good.:)
Sargent Stewie 07-21-2004, 11:33 PM Dat sucks, though i've never heard a time limit. I spent all my time whatsoever on my computer, otherwise I go somewhere wit my friends.

Yeah, but sometimes my parents get mad at me for being on the computer too much.
My computer is in my basement, its not in my room. :(

I have Net Nanny on my computer to keep track on what time that I can go on and go off.:)
G-Force Glockstar 07-22-2004, 12:01 AM I would love to meet you guys in real life....maybe I can do that when I'm 18.
But that's about 5 years from now. Everyone will be so much older!
My friends on S.O. are my best friends in the world counting my two other best friends I know from school.
G-Force Glockstar 07-22-2004, 12:04 AM Are they're any other parents in the world who limit they're kids time on the computer DAILY for one hour per day? I don't think so, I doubt it.
If my Dad or Mom takes the computer out of my room, I will NEVER be able to speak to you guys ever again until I'm 18 :( If I'm lucky, maybe a little bit earlier.
What would you do if you were in my place?
Be thankful you're not!

 Aren't you an adult?? Why would you need Net Nanny? Or do you just like to keep track of how long you're spending on the 'Net?
MacKenzie: I like Cena's advice about the friend's computer. ;) No, seriously, if I were in your shoes, I would just have a heart-to-heart talk with your dad about your online friends. Then, casually bring up the limit and your compromise about it. If he sees you're being "adult-like" and seriously about your friends, he may be more likely to reconsider. :)

I dont have a limit but my mom and dad get really mad because im on the computer a lot, and sometimes they dont let me go on. Theyre talking about banning me from the computer for a while, I hope they dont!
spunkygirl 07-22-2004, 03:37 PM Awww I'm sorry to hear that Mackenzie. I would def. do what your dad says.
Maybe when you turn 13, and if you've obeyed his limit, ask him if you have an extra half hour limit, then at 14 ask him for another half an hour, maybe he'd compromise with you if you did it that way
I'd miss you if you weren't around :)

Mackenzie, consider yourself lucky, when I was growing up, we didn't have computers like you guys do now :) I'd never even heard of one, and never seen one till I got into High School.
Heck I didn't even get a computer till I was 25

Janet McFarland 07-23-2004, 08:06 PM Aww FullHouseFan .. don't leave! :(
I'd just stick to your limit of an hour a day, even though if it was me, I'd sneak on :D , ok don't listen to that, if you sneak on you'll get into even more trouble! Hopefully, you get to keep the computer in your room!
EmoJoe 07-24-2004, 11:25 AM I think my mom might give me a limit too...:(

Do you have a daily limit, too? Like you're only allowed a certain time every day?
I'm only allowed one hour a day :( :(
