Why do Elementary school kids get so many 2 hour delays, and middle school kids don't?
The only time middle school kids get 2 hour delays is if it's bad weather.

Yes, and it's also mean, rude, and retarted!
Can't elemantary school kids and middle school kids (and high school kids) be treated the same?

If there's bad weather here, the delays are same for every public school in the city/town.

I've only had ONE day where school started late due to weather. All the other days they just shut down the whole day. Remember, here in Alabama, if it just comes a flurry, everyone panics and runs to the store to buy bread and milk.

:rotflmao:

What I'm trying to say is either everyone is out all day or goes in or gets out at ABOUT the same time(it varies a little because of the buses).

Why do they get 2 hour delays? It's weird they do and you don't.

The entire school system starts late here.

I will say that here at the high school on exam days(at the end of the semester), they get out early while everyone else stays the whole day.

I enjoyed that in 9th grade.

Where I go to school the grade school is next to the Jr.- Sr. Highschool, so if we get a delay then so do they.

You guys don't get what I'm saying.
Elementary school kids even get a two hour delays for no reason, like maybe if the teachers have to have a meeting.
I'm not talking about bad weather...the only thing I said about that is, the only time all the schools get two hour delays is if it was bad weather.
Get what I'm saying now?

I get what you're saying, but I honestly couldn't tell ya why.

I am probably way wrong, but maybe the younger kids aren't allowed to be in school as many hours as the older kids  A possiblity?

If you look at school schedules, the day is longer the higher up in grade school you go anyway. It's because the buses always drop the older kids off first in the morning and pick them up last in the afternoon.

In highschool we let out at 2:40 and many kids that did not take a full schedule got out before then.

I'm sure there's a logical reason. This would be a good question for the superitendent.

Im in middle school, and the elementary kids get out later than us. We get out at 2:30 and they get out at 3:00.

Anyway, in our town, when one school has a delay (we call it delayed openings) all the schools in the town have a delay.

That's a reason.. I go to a high school and we get a 3 hour delay the first wednesday of every month so the teachers can have a meeting. every school is different.

Whenever teachers have meeting we usually have a subsutute teacher

For Parent/Teacher Confrences, though, we have half days, when school goes from 8:00-12:15.

The only we have delays (every school in town) is for bad weather

Well where I live the elementary kids start much later than the older kids do, so that's why they get out later than you. :)

i start at 7:35 (10:25 on delays) and get out at 2:35. that's so much better than starting at 8 and getting out at 3:30 like i did at the last school i went to. well actually it started at 8:30 until 6th grade and in 8th grade they were gonna make us get out at 4 but they didn't yay. 4 pm is way too late to get out of school. thank you for reading this insignificant posting regarding when sarah gets out and has gotten out of school.

School starts here between 7:30 and 7:50am. It sucks. It's over between 2:40pm(Elementary) and 3:00pm(High School).

Yeah a while ago i was gonna transfer to an alternative school (because i hate everyone at the one i go to now) that was only 4 hours a day.. i didn't though because my dad says it's just for kids who get expelled from all the other schools, have been to juvi, etc.

Well I live in a very small town, and the elementary I can remember what time they get out, cause of the speed limit sign as I'm leaving town(the school is near the edge of town).

I can remember when I was in Kindergarten and they had split sessions, I went in the afternoon and my cousin would go in the morning

It was by far the worst year of my life. god damn i want to kill everyone there. in fact, i almost literally didn't survive it. I've been sort of a gloomy person since around 8th grade and after **** that's happened here i've turned extremely negative and antisocial. everyone thinks i'm a goth now. i get made fun of and called "freak" because i always dress in black and wear weird goth makeup but frankly i take that as a compliment. :grr:

My grades also sucked. My last school didn't give much of an education and i hardly has to put in any effort to pass everything. So i slacked around at the start of this year and got like 4 F's on my first progress report, and i was ****ed over the rest of the semester trying to catch up on my work. i was very lucky to get only one F on my report card, the rest were D's and C's and maybe a B. the next semester was better but it was still affected from not trying at the beginning.

Why do kids get tons of time off and adults have to work thru it? We like getting out in the hot weather? Don't think so.

My district has two elementaries, and I think they go at different times. They also start like an hour after the HS. It very strange...I'm glad I didn't live here then.
