Janet McFarland 06-24-2004, 05:59 PM OMG!!! YESSSSS!!!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO! I STAYED UP UNTIL LIKE 1:30 LAST NIGHT TO SEE IT , BUT THEN I DECIDED TO TAPE IT  AND I WAS WONDERING IF THEY WOULD SHOW THE WHOLE DANCE SCENE AND I GUESS THEY DID! THANKS! :D I'M GONNA GO WATCH NOW! ;)
( CAN YA TELL I'M HAPPY? )
Mr. Television 06-24-2004, 06:02 PM I've never seen it edited out in regular syndication. I really don't know why TV Land and N@N do that.
Chain Gang Member 06-24-2004, 06:20 PM Because at times, they're dumbasses
Burley_Furley 06-24-2004, 08:53 PM I wish I could see it. I'll probably have to wait until season 6 comes out on DVD to see the whole dance scene:rolleyes: I'll be waiting awhile.
jmitch-NYC 06-24-2004, 09:28 PM I also saw it last night and recorded it on DVD-R. Channel 11's versions are a million times better than Nick@Night/TV Land's not only for the editing, but also they're also not as annoying with their TV Logo at the bottom of the screen. They dont use it all the time and they also dont try to promote other shows DURING the actual show that you're watching.
As far as the editing goes, Channel 11 seems to include all of the footage that I remember in 80's reruns.
The TV Land/Nick@Night versions are unwatchable.
BuffaloBill 06-28-2004, 03:38 AM i think its a shame that they always edit the dancing scene in my opinion the funniest episode ever of three's comp.

It was a very funny scene, but John is lucky that he didn't have to get rushed to the emergency room after knocking himself out cold after climbing on the chair and falling over.
Heart Shaped Box 03-21-2005, 05:24 PM Um..I think you're referring to "A Night Not To Remember". That was the episode where John knocked himself out for a while.
Kristen J. 03-21-2005, 08:45 PM Yeah, he was sitting at this booth-drunk and with a cold-and he slid under the table and hit his head in "A Night Not To Remember".
Heart Shaped Box 03-21-2005, 09:34 PM Yea, I just love that episode!
*Nods*
I love it when Jack is drunk. John's physical talent really opens up when he's drunk.
LuLu Rogers 03-22-2005, 11:14 PM I wish I could see it. I'll probably have to wait until season 6 comes out on DVD to see the whole dance scene:rolleyes: I'll be waiting awhile.
I know exactly how you feel! I've never seen the dance scene either! I wish I could though! Does anyone know if it's on the web somewhere?
BuffaloBill 03-23-2005, 04:03 AM it comes down to money. squeeze in more commercials that's what you get. i don't watch tv land really other than 3's company. does anyone notice tv land editting or should i say " shortening " any other shows???????

Correction, I believe that it was 'Up In The Air'. If you read 'Come And Knock On Our Door' I believe that they do mention what episode it was. I remember them saying that John was doing his dance routine, and he fell, and John even said himself, that the audiance thought it was part of the show when he knocked himself out. In 'A Night Not To Remember' when he slipped under the table, he barely hit his head under the table, so with that said, how could he have possibly knocked himself out? Also, if you ever watch the E! True Hollywood story on 'Three's Company' in the two hour bio, they will also tell you that it was in 'Up In The Air' that he knocked himself out.

Because I was reading it today and I got to the part where they were talking about UITA and they didn't say anything about hitting his head in that episode.

Exactly, that's because IT IS "A Night Not To Remember" when John hits his head and knocks himself out. I know he doesn't hit it that hard, that's because they redid the scene after he came to. It was even mentioned in the E! True Hollywood story, it WAS NOT "Up In The Air".

Yes, and it was also mentioned in "Come and knock on our door".

Nope, sorry I think your wrong. How could he have possibly hit his head that hard underneath the table to knock himself out? When you watch the episode of 'Up In The Air' you can clearly see that when he falls off the chair, he does give his head a really good wack(even though you cannot see it) it's clearly obvious.

I forgot, when does he fall out the chair in UITA? Is that when he's talking to Nancy and he slips between the two chairs or is it a different scene?

I don't know for sure, but my guess is that they reshot the scene after he passed out because like Auntie said, he didn't hit it that hard when you watch the show. But I know that "A Night Not To Remember" is the episode where he knocks himself out. He obviously hit his head a lot harder when he actually did knock himself out.

Auntie 04-02-2005, 08:15 AM I stand correct. It was 'A Night Not To Remember'. I just checked with another message board for 'TC' onTVland, and they said, you are right. But may I just MAKE CLEAR that in the dance routine of 'Up In The Air', after he's dancing with the cane and 'flowerpot holder' on his head, he runs over to the side, climbs on the chair, and falls over. This scene was cut out of TVland, so you'll have to wait until it comes to dvd to see the entire scene. I would know this, last summer ch.11 aired 'Three's Company' in syndication.
MrsRitter 10-01-2005, 11:46 PM wow im lost...did he really knock himself in these episodes?

I know that he knocked himself out cold one time and the audience thought it was part of the act and then they realized he wasn't getting up so they stopped laughing. But apparently he was doing one of his physical comedy acts and hit his head on something and it knocked him out...poor John.
MrsRitter 10-02-2005, 07:39 PM  ok thanks :)
JackTripper258 10-02-2005, 08:59 PM your welcome:smile:

I remember when they showed that entire scene when Three's Company was shown on (WNEW-WNYW-FOX) Channel 5 in New York but they didn't show the tag. Why did nick-at-nite/tv land edit out both that scene AND the tag? That was stupid.

Yeah that's true, none of the local stations cut the dance out with Jack in Up In the Air

TVLAND has to cut more parts out so that it can keep showing you the promotions for that damn "TVLAND Confidential" about 16 times an hour! They plug that show so much it makes me want to puke:.

 i def. agree!
I Love John Ritter 10-05-2005, 12:33 AM I wouldn't have a problem if they cut any other scene in the episode...but unfortunately, they cut out the best part. Supposedly the whole concept of the episode was that Janet wanted to make David (Barry Williams) jealous, so apparently they had to keep all the scenes that invloved the two of them. I really think that this episode will always be remembered for John Ritter's dance scene towards the end, not the whole Janet and David subject. With that said, I think that they could cut out some other scene, and try and fit in John's dance scene for all of those who have not seen it to be able to enjoy it.

The local versions sure found a way to inlcude the dance scene in there-lol But it won;t matter for long because the dance scene will be on DVD next year
