(First of all, 55% + 15% + 15% + 15% = 100%)

Scenario A:

35/50 = .7, and .7 x .55 = .385
4/5 = .8, and .8 x .15 = .12
4/5 = .8, and .8 x .15 = .12
8/10 = .8, and .8 x .15 = .12

total: .745 or 74.5%

Scenario B:

37/50 = .74, and .74 x .55 = .407
4/5 = .8, and .8 x .15 = .12
4/5 = .8, and .8 x .15 = .12
8/10 = .8, and .8 x .15 = .12

total: .767 or 76.7%

I think that's right. It's been a lot of years since I took math.

Worst of all, it was a statewide exam. that regents was easy, you'll pass it. i took it last year. I got like 30 multiple choice wrong and still managed a 78. Now the US History and Government was brutal as hell. I definitly failed that one(took it yesterday)

How many more do you need to take until you've taken them all?

The Global regents was really easy. I got an 83 on that one. The US History one...wasnt that bad. The multiple choice was really easy. And the DBQ essay was easy too. But the Thematic essay...the whole thing was BS. I didnt know what the hell I was talking about...

Hey, don't sweat it. It's not like I've passed anything in chemistry either! ;) Oh and btw, which ones have you taken so far, still need to take, etc etc. What grade are you in? Sorry, I'm being a bit nosey. :D

Oh, and I have a question-- for either of you. If you fail a regent, it means you have to take it over, right? Anyway, say you got a 45% the first time and a 85% the second time-- will that 45% appear on your transcript? Or will ONLY the 85% appear?

As you can see, I don't have high hopes for myself.

My name is Tara by the way.:) So far, I've taken Earth Science, Biology, US History & Gov't, English, Spanish, Global and Math A. I dont take Math B so I dont have to take that Regents. All I have left to take is the Chem Regents and I'm done. I'm in 11th grade btw.

I dont need to pass Chem to graduate either because I already have my requirements. I took Earth Science and Biology and I passed both.

As for your other question, I failed the Earth Science Regents the first time I took and I had to take it a second time and I passed. When I got my transcript earlier this year, it wasnt on there.

You only need two science regents to graduate? Is this for everyone? Ah darn, I've never taken the Earth Science one. My 8th grade teacher didn't think our class was "smart" enough to, which is a bunch of bull, but whatever. I now despise her with all my heart. :D

Anyway, if you fail the chemistry regents, will the score go on the transcript? I'm asking because I would like to DELIBERATELY fail the French regents so that I can spend more time studying for the chemistry one. And then retake the French one in Jan. At the same time, though, I don't want to mess up my transcript. :D

I think if you fail the first time and take it a second time and pass, it wont show up. But if you fail and not retake it, that will show up on your transcript.:)

As for me, if I fail the Chem Regents...I'll probably end up retaking it just because I'm paranoid about stuff like that. And I'll feel like a complete failure if I dont try again. lol. But thats just me...

But if what you said were true, then I would DEFINITELY deliberately fail, LOL. I don't have any regents this coming January anyway, so I can make it up then without a doubt. I should be ashamed of myself. :D It's too bad I'm not attending school now given it's regents week and all-- you know the drill-- or else I would've gone and asked the counselor or something.

I hate regents week. I'd rather be in school learning than at home "studying." It's all everyone at my school can talk about. "How'd you do? How'd you do?" I'm sure you know how it feels. Argh!!

Yeah I figured the failing grade wouldnt be on my transcript. I wonder why its on mine.... One question wrong should yield more like a 99, imo. Is 2pts per question always the case? I hate the freaking grading system/rubric. Why can't they just use simple proportions dammit? LOL. Make our lives easier for goodness sake. ;) Congrats on the high score, though. The highest score I got on a regents was a 94 in Math A, LOL. (And yet I can't add 15+15+15+55. Great. ;)) My lowest was an 88 in biology. Then again, I've only gotten the results for two. Doesn't tell too much about me.

Hmm. Seems to me there's a bit of a discrepacy with the failing grade appearing/not appearing on the transcript. Grrr. Guess I have to go study now?? I'm running out of time. -sigh- Can't seem to get myself motivated.

Hey, guys.

I just took the French regents today! Phew. I'm SO glad that's over with!! It was actually easier than I thought. But anyway, unlike the global regents where the grades are curved and stuff, I don't believe the French one is, right? Without a curve, I think I scored about 81 or so. Just posting 'cause I'm wondering if there's a curve with the French too, that's all. :D

I'm taking the chemistry one tomorrow and I'm not even studying. :nonono:

But anyhoo, I think I'm well prepared. I mean, AFTER ALL, I HAVE been preparing myself for the past 8 months to FAIL this exam, right?? Can't freaking wait!

There's always a curve. They have this chart conversion that they use to grade. They do it by the # you got wrong. Took Spanish today, I think I did well, although I don't need to pass it anyways. Chem tomorrow I dont give a flying crap about.

I've only taken two regents and one profficiency so far. I took the Math A in January and got a 90% on it. I took Earth Science friday and I don't think I did too well, I just really want to pass. My last test was monday, which was a Latin profficiency which I think I did really well on. I'm predicting high 90s on Latin and low to high 70s on the Earth Science.
