View Full Version : The Day After Tomorrow
Brian 06-03-2004, 08:23 PM I just saw this today and here's what I think. I really liked it but I thought that Independence Day (a film directed by the director of this film) was better than this one. That doesn't necessarily mean that TDAT wasn't good, it was quite the opposite. The special effects were spectacular and well-done. The problem is that the first half of the movie kept me on the edge of my seat with all the suspense and stuff. But then the second half I thought was a little too talky. Some action sequences here and there. It's like it all built itself up to nothing. I was expecting more from it but I liked it nonetheless. I'd give it 2 and a half stars out of 4 at most.
musicradio77 06-03-2004, 08:50 PM I saw that movie back on Tuesday with my brother while I was at Regal Cinemas in Union Square in Manhattan along with another movie I saw is "Shrek 2".
David 06-04-2004, 03:54 PM Ooo cool. It looks like a good movie, I wanted to watch it today
HuntingtonM15 06-04-2004, 04:02 PM I liked it better than Independence Day (hated that movie), but I just thought that it's your typical natural disaster movie. I don't think I'd ever care to see it again.
Jokerette 06-04-2004, 05:13 PM I hate Independence Day so I'm not going to see this movie. I don't like disaster movies in general and all the hype surrounding this flick is helping even more to turn me off. So I'm keeping away from this one.
80s_Fan 06-05-2004, 01:45 PM For me, this was an excellent movie.
Well worth my time and money.
I Love Carol Burnett! 06-05-2004, 08:29 PM I saw it Monday it was a wonderful movie most defiently a keeper I'll be buying it when it comes out on DVD :)
LucyCompanyPhan 06-08-2004, 04:38 PM The Day After tomorrow has great special effects and its worth seeing once, but thats all the movie is.
The characters aren't very well devopled. The plot line between the son and the father is crazy. I mean, the movie is forgettable. Independence day was alot better, but i still enjoyed it once. **1/2 stars.
MandieR1980 06-16-2004, 02:51 PM I saw it last night I thought it was really good
ptcruiserfan2004 06-17-2004, 05:58 PM I saw it last Monday and thought it was pretty good. I haven't seen Independence Day so I can't comment on that.
Hollow 06-18-2004, 07:21 PM i saw it last night, it was pretty good. it was kind of hard to follow but i liked the disaster scenes.

Considering how much you are fascinated by weather, I am positive you'll like it, especially the first half. The first half keeps you on your seat.
I saw it about a month ago when I was down in California, and the whole thing played like a propaganda piece.

Isn't Jake Gyllenhaal the guy from Moonlight Mile? He's a good actor. My dad was telling me that he wanted to see this film and that it was about global warming. So, I'm interested in seeing this film. I'm going to wait until this film is in the cheap theaters, though.
Here's a site with a plot summary.
