Eight Simple Rules
Season Three


Cate's dad, Jim, goes back to Florida, where he and his wife, Laura get back together. After realizing he really wants to be around his grandparents, CJ decides to move in with Jim and Laura. Rory is now 15 years old and in the 9th grade. Rory and Missy are still dating steadily. Kerry is now 17 years old and in the 11th grade and is still dating Kyle. Bridget is 18 years old and in the 12th grade and a senior in high school. Bridget is now single, ever since she and Jeremy (Jonathon Taylor Thomas) broke up. Bridget is looking forward to college and wanting to become a beautician. Cate has had a raise in pay at the hospital. Cate's sister, Maggie (Cybill Shepperd) is back in town and living with Cate and the kids, after catching her husbnd (CJ's dad), Ted (Ted Danson) in bed with another woman for the second time. Cate takes in her newly divorced sister into her home. Maggie convinces Cate to join her as she goes out for a night on the town to meet men. Cate ends up meeting his plastic surgeon, Jeff Blake (Ted McGinley). Jeff and Cate exchange numbers and contine to date. By the season finale, Bridget packs for college (Michigan State University). Maggie finally decides she thinks she will go back to college as well and weirdly enough, ends up to be Bridget's roommate at the dorms. Bridget first complains about having her aunt as her roommate, but Maggie tells her at college she's Maggie, not her aunt and anything that happens there stays there unless its something serious. Bridget ends up liking the idea of Maggie as her roommate. Kerry looks forward to being a senior next year and having her own room for the first time. Kyle decides to take a year off and wait around for Kerry to finish up high school, then rentering college as a freshman with Kerry. Rory and Missy decide to have sex for the first time, but ends up being too nervous and both decides to wait a little bit longer. Cate and Jeff go out to eat, where Jeff pops the questions to Cate. Cate becoming overwhelmed, says yes and is soo happy, and can't wait to share the news to Maggie and the kids (who take it surprisingly well). In the last scene, it's the family taking Maggie and Bridget to their dorm, but Bridget rushes inside the house for something while the rest of the family is waiting outside. Bridget quickly finds the most recent family picture (with Paul in it). Bridget says, "I love you Dad" just before she exits the house.

THE END OF SEASON 3

Season Four
2005-2006

Bridget and Maggie end up enjoying the college life and they like having each other as a roommate. Bridget sets Maggie up with her English professor, Professor Keith Burke (Tim Allen). Keith and Maggie begin to date, but both being divorced have a fear of commitment so far. So they decide to take it slow and not to rush into anything. Kerry is Senior Class Vice President. Kyle and Kerry are still dating, Kyle goes to a community college to be around Kerry. Kyle has his own apartment now. For Kerry's 18th Brithday, she decides move in with Kyle in his apartment which doesn't settle with Cate at first, but grows on her later on. Missy and Rory are still going out. Rory is a sophomore, as well as Missy. Missy and Rory decide to have sex for the first time and do for real this time. Missy and Rory have a pregnancy scare, but it was a false alarm afterall. Cate and Jeff decided to move in together, Jeff lives with Cate and the kids. Kerry and Kyle get accepted into Michigan State as well, but decide to live not in a dorm, but in Kyle and Kerry's apartment. Bridget finds a guy she likes, Chris Franklin (Kyle Howard, Run of the House's character). Yet Chris is older than Bridget by 6 years. In the season finale, Cate and Jeff get married. Bridget, Maggie, Kyle, Kerry, Rory, Missy, and other friends and family visit for the wedding. At the reception, Kerry and Kyle have a talk about their future and how they want to spend it together. In the last few minutes of the finale, after the reception is over and everyone is either gone or cleaning up, Kyle pops the question to Kerry, who is stunned in a happy way and accepts. Kyle and Kerry announce their new engagement to Cate, Jeff, Bridget, Rory, Maggie, and Missy afterwards. Kerry and Kyle tells them they've decided on staying engaged until they graduate from college-when they get married they will be out of college. Everyone becomes happy for them, even a shocked Cate.
