View Full Version : Reunion coming to CBS in 2004-05 season
Pavan 05-19-2004, 03:10 PM The original cast of "Dallas," the long-running, beloved CBS series will be reunited. It's been over 25 years since Larry Hagman, Victoria Principal, Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy, Charlene Tilton, Ken Kercheval and Steve Kanaly first took up residence at the famous Southfork Ranch just outside of Dallas. They will meet there again for this special reunion to tour the famous grounds, talk about the series' most infamous storylines, reminisce about their time together on the show and sit down to a Texas-style barbeque. Larry Hagman will also share his own home movies that were shot as the series was actually being filmed.
jayman75 05-19-2004, 09:51 PM Victoria Principal is coming back?? Awesome!
I just wish Barbara Bel Geddes would return also.
Mr. Television 05-20-2004, 01:34 AM Thats great news. I hope Barbara Bel Geddes, Howard Keel and Susan Howard will be there too. I doubt Barbara will though as she has mainly disapeared.
dandelion wine 05-20-2004, 01:45 AM I cannot wait for this! :woohoo:
It'd be a real treat to have Barbara Bel Geddes back, as well as the others mr roper's mentioned. If it doesn't happen, it's understandable..but it'd sure be nice.
boechsner 09-22-2004, 02:40 AM What's really going to be nice is to see Victoria Principal on the reunion. She never came back for the Made for TV movies and I really hate how they left her character. In my opinion, the show really jumped the shark when she disappeared from the hospital at the beginning of the 1987-1988 season.
jayman75 09-26-2004, 01:15 AM I saw an article with the cast in a recent tabloid (I think "Star"). It didn't have Steve or Victoria in it. I hope they do show up.
I also wish Priscilla B. Presley and Susan Howard would attend.
jayman75 10-27-2004, 03:15 PM This (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=597&ncid=762&e=8&u=/nm/20041027/tv_nm/television_dallas_dc) was posted on Yahoo...
J.R., Sue Ellen, Pam, Bobby and other members of television's Ewing clan will return to prime time in November for a "Dallas" reunion special, CBS said on Tuesday.
Larry Hagman, who starred as the unscrupulous, power-hungry Texas oilman J.R. Ewing, becoming America's favorite TV villain for 13 seasons, will join several former co-stars on the two-hour special, "Dallas Reunion: The Return to Southfork," set to air Nov. 7.
Among them are Linda Gray, who played J.R.'s long-suffering wife, Sue Ellen; Patrick Duffy, who portrayed J.R.'s righteous younger brother Bobby; Victoria Principal (Bobby's wife, Pamela); Charlene Tilton (J.R.'s sexy, seductress niece, Lucy); Ken Kercheval (J.R.'s brother-in-law and arch nemesis Cliff Barnes) and Steve Kanaly (Southfork Ranch manager Ray Krebbs).
CBS said the special will feature cast members touring the grounds of the Southfork Ranch called home by the Ewings and reminiscing about their time on the show. And Hagman will share his own behind-the-scenes home movies that were shot while "Dallas" was being filmed.
Also taking part will be Mary Crosby, who played J.R.'s infamous mistress Kristin Shepard -- the mysterious assailant in the cliff-hanger finale to the show's second season in which J.R. was gunned down.
The program was by then a worldwide hit, and the question of "Who shot J.R.?" raged all that summer. The November 1980 episode in which Kristin was revealed to have pulled the trigger became the highest-rated broadcast in TV history up to that time, seen by nearly 80 percent of all viewers watching television that night.
Indeed, all 13 season finales of "Dallas," even the very last original broadcast in May 1991, were cliffhangers, helping to popularize what became a fixture of prime-time dramatic series.
The serialized format of "Dallas" also helped pave the way for a new generation of episodic prime-time dramas -- from "Hill Street Blues" and "St. Elsewhere" to "thirtysomething" and "The Sopranos" -- in which characters and storylines followed a deliberate arc that developed week to week over the life of a series.
MichaelLutton 10-27-2004, 10:11 PM i think they made mistake they puty cliff as Jr brother n law when its Rey krebbs.jr wil kill if Barnes was a ewing.wonder how Pam kristen and other come back if they got killed off the show.going be intrestign to see.

jayman75 10-28-2004, 11:35 AM First of all... what the???? You need to spell-check, man.
Second, it's not a movie. It's a gathering of the cast to talk about the show. There is no acting. It will just be sharing memories.
ponytail 11-03-2004, 07:00 AM Dallas was my favorite show, I never missed a episode. Ray was my favorite character on the show. I'm glad Steve Kanaly will be on this reunion.
Screenwriter 11-03-2004, 05:01 PM when is it coming on?
AtlantaBravesFan29 11-04-2004, 10:34 AM Sunday night at 8:00 P.M. Central Time on CBS.
Scoobiedoo30 11-08-2004, 04:05 AM I hope that CBS re-airs The Dallas Reunion Movie because I missed The Special on Sunday November 7, 2004
Screenwriter 11-08-2004, 05:50 PM It was delayed by a football game... I recorded it.
Mr. Television 11-08-2004, 06:02 PM The reunion was great. It was great seeing them all again and the women especially all look great.:D I really enjoyed the bloopers and practical jokes segment. It was great seeing everyone have fun behind the camera.
Skywalker 11-08-2004, 09:21 PM I thought the reunion was good. I can't call myself a fan of the show, it went off the air when I was 11 years old. I saw a few episodes before though. I really enjoyed the clips, especially the bloopers.
wayman 11-08-2004, 09:57 PM The CBS website says there will be an encore presentation of the Dallas Reunion on Saturday.
Scoobiedoo30 11-09-2004, 02:00 AM I am glad that The CBS Televison Network is re-airing
The Dallas Reunion Novie on Saturday, November 13, 2004.
hoosierelvisfan 11-09-2004, 08:10 AM I wonder how well it did in the ratings???? I watched it although I was getting a little sleepy I have to admit. Due to the late start it didn't end until around 11:45. Anyway, I thought it was very enjoyable and it was good to see all the stars together again. To me, "Cliff" aged the most. I was expecting Larry Hagman to look bad due to his illnesses in recent years but all in all I didn't really think he looked so bad. But Cliff looked much older to me than I was expecting. I wonder how old he is in real life. Regarding them playing it over, I was expecting them to show it again. I think they not only replayed the Dick Van Dyke reunion show but they also replayed it on TV Land as well. So, who knows, maybe they might replay this on TV Land??????

Respectfully,

I thought I read somewhere that it did about 16 million, but that could be wrong, I know Desperate Housewives trounced it. IMO they should have put it on Saturday :(

I read it came in 3RD behind DH & something else. I can`t remember now what it was.
vze3t9q9 11-11-2004, 12:56 PM I Saw the show> I did tape it and then wondered when I tuned in at 9"30 whether it was on. I later found it at ten so I assumed it was on later due to an earlier show going long. It was nice. It was sad reading short time later that Howard Keel died. I liked his charactor.
Usually when I see Larry I find he looks the oldest. I think the loss of hair makes him look older. With his hat on he looks ten years younger. Ken had lung surgery a few years ago and I think that can age anyone. Also I think when you get to an age you want to age gracefully. Forget hair dye, diets, etc. As long as you are healthy. When you look back 25 years, they all look older. We all have to age.
barwars 11-13-2004, 09:05 PM Im watching it right now and loving it.
Larry Hagman is the best badass EVER.
