Let me just say I didn't experience any of this when i received TC eps on VHS. Damm i'm mad I couldn't watch Strange Bedfellows on my DVD player. Once the opening credits ended, it froze. I watched it on my PS2 and it froze near the end. I tried it again on my regular DVD player and caught the ending I missed. There were other glitches here and there but nothing too bad. Sean Snow 05-16-2004, 03:30 PM I haven't had any real problems with season 2 so far. At first, though, I couldn't get the Chris Mann commentary to play at all. After I took the disc out and put it back in, though, it began working properly and has been working properly ever since. I haven't had any problems with the extras or the episodes. Same thing happend with me on the commentary. I've watched everything on the DVD set, and I have no problems. swedeace 05-16-2004, 10:47 PM So far, I've only watched most of disc 4 (everything except the "best of's" of each character or couple, all of disc 1 and I'm in the middle of disc 2. Out of those, I only had trouble playing "Stanley Cassanova." It froze during the middle fade-out of the episode and skipped right over to the next episode. I will have to reload the disc again and try it that way. :( I have yet to finish disc 2 and all of disc 3. Christmas Snow 05-17-2004, 03:31 PM Some of the episodes skip for me. PZelda 05-17-2004, 04:22 PM For me, when I started to play "The Baby Sitters" on the 3rd disc, I selected "Play" and it went to the middle fade-in in the episode- the part where the camera zooms out when Jack is holding the baby. I went back to the DVD menu to try again and got the same thing. So I had to rewind to the beginning of the ep so I could see the whole thing...Ugh! That was the only ep I had a problem with. Everything else worked fine for me. TheMinistainer 05-17-2004, 05:12 PM And why do you think we are experiencing these many problems on Three's Company DVDs? I have never heard problems like these on other new DVDs. Chain Gang Member 05-17-2004, 05:58 PM Mine is fine PZelda 05-17-2004, 07:51 PM Originally posted by Miss Vicki For me, when I started to play "The Baby Sitters" on the 3rd disc, I selected "Play" and it went to the middle fade-in in the episode- the part where the camera zooms out when Jack is holding the baby. Everything else worked fine for me. I just got back from watching "The Bird Song" (2nd to last episode on the last disc), and it was the most glitched up episode ever. -It did the same thing it did to my "The Baby Sitters" ep, it started at the middle fade-in, this time everybody was at the Regal Beagle. -It kept freezing up when I rewinded it to the begininng (like with "The Baby Sitters"). -After I finished rewinding, it would NOT let me do anything. It wouldn't even let me stop the DVD! -Right at the end, when Mr. Roper comes up to talk to Jack & Janet (this was after Jack almost killed Chrissy), there was a "layer change" if that's what it's called. You know how all the episodes were digitally remastered? Well, it wasn't like that. It looked like original reel footage- it was blurred and everything. It only lasted about 5 seconds, though...then when the scene changed, it was back to normal. Wow... Pavan 05-17-2004, 08:14 PM You really have to be careful in handling the DVD discs. I have had no problems with both of my sets (S1 and S2). Make sure there are no scratches on the disc and make sure the discs aren't close to the sun. Or, maybe your DVD player had been on too long. Apex DVD player is the best. TVFactFan 05-17-2004, 08:22 PM Originally posted by pavanbadal You really have to be careful in handling the DVD discs. Well it's funny how i didn't experience these problems with the What's Happening DVD. karma 05-17-2004, 08:49 PM As I posted in another topic, I had a similar problem with "Stanley Casanova" as swedeace did. The first time I watched it, it froze in the middle. I tried it on a different DVD player, and it was even worse.. the episode wouldn't play at all, and I couldn't even stop the disc; I had to physically take it out. But I did go and exchange my set about a week ago and so far I haven't had any problems with the new one, though I haven't watched everything on it. My S1 set is problem-free, as are the first two discs on S2. Sun? What sun? My DVD player is in my bedroom, and it's dark 24/7. I never open the curtains or window in my room, so that's not the problem. I was watching one of the episodes and it was weird how it got blurry for a couple of seconds then went back to normal! Weird .. TVFactFan 05-17-2004, 10:10 PM PAV How much is this DVD Player supposed to be that you are referring to?-LOL PZelda 05-18-2004, 03:24 AM Well, I figured out why I was having problems w/ my remote for that last episode I mentioned...The "Play" button was stuck. It always happens. So disregard... TVJunkie101 05-18-2004, 07:27 AM I have an Apex DVD player and it works great. I've never had any problems with any disc. You do have to be REALLY careful with DVDs though. I had no problem with Season 1. I still don't have Season 2 yet, LOL, but I'll have it soon. Pavan 05-18-2004, 10:18 AM The Apex DVD player plays anything I have. Even copied video CD's. Someone from Italy sent me a Three's Company video CD that they made of unedited episodes (3 or 4 from season 6) and it actually played on my Apex DVD player. I tried it on a few other DVD players elsewhere, and it did NOT play. As for the price, you can probably get it for $100 or less now. I have seen them pretty cheap, especially in Wal-Mart. I've seen quite a few actually in different places. tcfan1974 05-18-2004, 11:08 AM i couldn't get disc 3 to play on my DVD player in the living room..it would load half of an ep and then stall and I couldn't stop it, had to turn off the DVD player, that's a multisystem DVD player, not exactly cheap, no problems with other DVDs..I put that DVD in my Toshiba DVD player in my Mac and in the Pioneer DVD burner and on both it played just fine..strange..other than that everything's fine.. HIGH ENOUGH 05-18-2004, 11:33 AM The only problem I'm having is where Suzanne and Joyce are doing a scene together in the bloopers. Suzanne messes up her line and the screen goes black. You can just hear them talking. swedeace 05-18-2004, 01:52 PM Originally posted by pavanbadal The Apex DVD player plays anything I have. Even copied video CD's. Interesting.... are those episodes from Italy in PAL format and they played all right on your region 1 DVD player? PZelda 05-18-2004, 01:56 PM Originally posted by COLD CASE fan The only problem I'm having is where Suzanne and Joyce are doing a scene together in the bloopers. I watched the bloopers this morning, and the same thing happened to me... Sean Snow 05-18-2004, 06:39 PM Originally posted by Miss Vicki I think that's part of the bloopers...Or maybe I'm wrong. ONJMagic 05-20-2004, 12:55 AM I only had one problem with my DVD. While playing the Trivia game, I clicked on the wrong answer accidentally, and then it gave me a 2nd chance to get it right. After that, it froze before playing the scene with the answer. Everything else ran perfectly. |
