I dig his most of his '70s stuff, and some of his early '80s output. After that, his catalogue has no appeal to me (my loss, adult contemporary radio's gain, I guess). That is, until 2001's excellent Songs From The West Coast, which recaptures that early Elton John/Bernie Taupin appeal.

I only like certain songs by him like:

Philadelphia Freedom- GREAT record

Don't Go Breaking My Heart- really fun tune

Little Jeannie- makes you really believe he was in love with some woman at that time in his life

Rocket Man- great metaphorical writing

Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word- his singing here is very good

His more modern records don't do anything for me.

Check out the album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"

One of my favorite albums of all time. It's a little of everything from pop to album rock to prog

Funeral For a Friend/ Love Lies Bleeding is a great tune!

Great production by the late Gus Dudgeon!

Also, check out his collaborations with John Lennon - John's Whatever Get You Thru The Night, and Elton's cover of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, in which John is a guest. Both are killer.
