I have to have all my cash facing the same way and in descending order. ($20's, $10's, $5's, and $1's) I am not happy if it's out of order. God help you if I let you ring on my drawer at work and I find you just threw money in there without putting it face-up and all going the same way...

I do that too  It's the same with books, dvds, etc. They've all gotta be lined up and with the titles facing the same way.

I've got more, but I can't think of them right now. My whole life is quirky

I do that too...only I have my smaller bills in front. Maybe it's not such a strange quirk?

I actually don't do that with my books and CD's and stuff, just my cash. It's weird.

I also find myself straightening out stuff at stores, probably because I've worked so long at a store myself! I only seem to do that with food products or OTC drugs and stuf.

I used to do this very obsessive compulsive thing- for about a year I'd count the syllables in sentences people have just said- sumtimes I'd even count them with my feet (putting the toes to the top of my shoe for one syllable, down for the next- odd or even number of syllables!)- it was quite crazy.

When I answer a question- if the person asking continues to look at me (there are people in my class who have blank stares anyway!) I just keep on talknig then- nervously, fumbling about as though to say 'please now, just go away and leave me alone!'

I agree completely.

Does this make us obsessive-compulsive??

DVDs -- must facing the same way, but my quirk is that all of my WB DVDs (damn different cases) must be next to eachother. Ohh and, my Disney movies should be near eachother, ohh and anything with a sequel should be right next to the movie.
Ohh and, all of my TVDVDs are next to eachother, but on a different shelf.
This same sort of thing goes for video games and books too.

I mentioned this once before in another thread, but it fits here:

My roommate and I always get the same exact catalogs, but I only read the one with my name on the label. I won't look at his.
Even if by some fluke he gets one and I know I will probably get the same catalog the next day I will wait to look at the one with my name on the label.

Somebody please lock me up fo my own good.

OMG....I do that too!

And my DVD's MUST be lined up alphabetically, from bottom to top (I have a standalone DVD tower -- it only fits DVD's, not VHS tapes). My tapes have to be in numerical order (Vicki Lawrence #1 on the left to Vicki Lawrence #20 on the right) and all my VHS movies have to have the front of their cardboard boxes facing to the right, and the front of the video cassette must be in the front when I slide it back in. I also straighten out my DVD's when I'm putting them back in their cases so the proper side is facing me...

I just thought of another one. You know how sometimes cars have silver outer hubcaps and when they fall off, the black ones are underneath? For some reason, those creep me out - I have to hold my breath every time I pass a car where all 4 of its outer hubcaps fell off...

Didn't a guy on Cheers that Diane was dating do something like this?? That's damn impressive if you can do it.

Well I have to check my purse like 10 times a day to make sure my car keys are in there.

So do I.
I have to have the cups, plates, and bowls in a certain order.
Also my silverware. Also the towels on the shelf. As for money
I don't know if you guys noticed that dollar bills have the letters
of the alphabet on them. I like to put them in alphabetical order.
I also like the smaller to larger bils in order.
I thought I was the only one who did that. lol

I can't stand to have any of my food touching on my plate blech
I like my DVDs organized by Actor unless it's part of a series.

All of my CD's and DVD's and VHS's and stuff always have to be in alphabetical order, and that also goes with books and magazines and basically anything on my shelves.

I have a ****load of gel bracelets, and when I take them off (even if I'm taking them off for when I get a shower, which is only like, 20 minutes) they HAVE to be in order by color. A stack of black ones and then a stack of blue ones and a stack of orange ones and etc.

I'm always knocking on wood. Even over the stupidest things. People look at me like I'm crazy. I can't help it.. blaaah. Drew Barrymore has that problem too.. hmm..

My clothes are in my closet and drawer by style and color. Like, all the teeshirts are in one section but also seperated by color..

That's all I can think of for now..

ok, i have nothing better to do.

- whenever something touches or associates with a part of my body in any way, it has to be done to the other side or me, otherwise i get this nervously irritating feeling.

- if i click on one side of the screen on a computer, i usually have to click the other. same thing with video games, if the character walk to one side of the screen they have to walk to the other. my god it's annoying. you should just see how bad it is when i click on the smilies. ohno:

- how do i explain this.. for example, if someone flips me off with their right hand they have to do it with their left hand. meh

- when i touch something like a button with my index finger i have to touch it with my middle finger and vice versa. i have to click my mouse with both fingers because of it. it's terrible.

- when someone means to say something in plural form but they don't, i need for them to repeat what they said but say it in plural form.

- sometimes when i say something, i have to hum first until it feels right.

- i get weird thoughts like "if i don't sit cross legged i'm gonna die" or "if i'm not in my room by the next time the phone rings i'm gonna die"

- sometimes i'll start reading something like an advertisement or a price tag and look away from it and i'll think "if i don't finish reading that then i'll never know what it says and it will haunt me for the rest of my life."

- sometimes when i push buttons or turn on a light switch or something, i have to keep pushing it until it feels right.. yeah i probably look like a freak when i do it. it happens alot when i play video games. lol.

- i always feel the need to look up, grunt, nod my head, roll my eyes, make certain facial expressions etc. its usually one gesture at a time for a long time until it changes to another one, but its annoying especially when i'm in public.

- alot of the time when i write a period at the end of a sentence, it has to be perfectly round. ugh i hate that

- if me or someone else scratches something like a sidewalk or chalkboard, they need to scratch something soft like an eraser or rubber immediately. or if someone rubs two hard surfaces together (like nails and a chalkboard, or glass and a sidewalk) and it makes a squeaky or scratchy noise, they need to do it again but without making the noise even though alot of the time it's not possible. :(

- everything needs to sound "smooth".. if someone is is a spinning chair and they spin and make a sqeaking noise like it needs to be oiled, they have to do it again but so it's not making any noise and it sounds smoother. and if someone rubs their hand across a balloon and speaks it, they have to do it again without making it squeak. one time some girl at school was spinning around in one of those chairs and squeaking it really loud and i was DYING. the more she did it, the more i literally got more into a fetal position. when she got up from it i ran over there and spun it around a few times without it making noise. omfg it felt so good.

- sometimes i think to myself "it's weird how i never realize when im blinking" and the i stop blinking... and when i blink again im like "well i noticed it that time" and it goes on for a long time.

- when i'm watching tv or listening to a song, i have to kind of lip-synch everything everyone is saying, otherwise i feel like i need to catch up. if it's something i've never heard, i have to follow their lead. and if i slow down, i have to say everything i missed really fast until i get caught up.

- i CANNOT be alone in the dark. and i literally scream bloody murder if i ever am. i just know that something supernatural is gonna come, and i'm also scared to talk about it in detail. even on the internet.

- all my cds HAVE to be in the order that i got them in.

- i have to check everything ALL the time. like if i put something in an envelope, i have to check like 10 times to make sure it's in there.

- i wash my hands ALL the time. i hate the thought of having germs on my hands or whatever... i wash them everytime i touch something that has been touched by alot of people, like money or a public keyboard & mouse.

- i'm always so scared my house is gonna catch on fire or something. i have a bag of my most valuable stuff to grab in case it does.

- i always think i'm doing something wrong... like every time i walk into a classroom, i have a feeling that i'm going to the wrong period. meh.

- i'm always scared of hurting people. im scared of making friends because i feel like im gonna do something to them. and im kind of scared to drive because i just know i'm gonna run over an animal or something.

- i'm always scared that i'm gonna do something that i avoid doing. sometimes i'll just be sitting somewhere in public and i get the feeling that i'm gonna uncontrollably do something like jump up and scream.

- i always collect useless garbage in case i need it for something, even thouhgh i know i wont... like in case i win a million dollars for having it. yeah im weird.

- im so friggan superstitious... i havent gone over a railroad track in a car without lifting my feet up in 4 years. and i avoid black cats and the number 13, hold my breath while passing the cemetary or going through a tunnel, etc... it's really bad. i just know that if i dont do everything like that something terrible is gonna happen.

- alot of misc behavior that i havent listed.

yeah.. thats all i can think of. it all affects me 24/7. more of a living nightmare than a few "weird little quirks."

- i get weird thoughts like "if i don't sit cross legged i'm gonna die" or "if i'm not in my room by the next time the phone rings i'm gonna die"

I'm sorta like that- if something bad happens to me at a certain place (for example a cinema)- the next time I go to that place I won't wear any of the same clothes I was wearing last time- and try to do everything opposite of what I did last time to prevent anything bad from happening again- it's crazy!

- sometimes i'll start reading something like an advertisement or a price tag and look away from it and i'll think "if i don't finish reading that then i'll never know what it says and it will haunt me for the rest of my life."

I used to have this problem ALL the time- and I'd close a magazine and just HAVE to go back and read the article I stopped reading halfway through- or else I go crazy with wondering what I missed!

OMG, I thought I was the queen of quirk until I read some of these posts. I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one!!

I do the money-in-order thing in my wallet.

Also, the whole alphabetical order thing with my CD's, DVD's, and VHS tapes, and my DVD's and CD's all have to be facing right-side up.

When I rent other DVD's from Blockbuster, I always rent 3 at a time, and I have to watch them in ABC order. If I have a pile of movies, I'm going to watch, I can't watch 2 movies in a row that have the same actor or actress in them. Like, I wouldn't watch Liar, Liar, then Bruce Almighty.

My food pantry has to be organized. I can't stand it to be cluttered. I was over at my cousin's house one time and his wife went to get something in their pantry and it was extremely cluttered. Made me want to go and organize it for her!! I love his wife to death but I felt like saying how can you have such a cluttered pantry?!! When I go shopping and bring the stuff home, everything has to be rotated even the non-perishable stuff--bottled water, paper towels, dog food. FIFO--first in, first out.

If I have chicken for lunch, I can't have chicken for dinner. If I eat italian for dinner one night, and have leftovers, I can't eat italian the next day, I have to wait another day or two. I can't eat the same breakfast 2 days in a row. One day, I'll have an apple & yogurt, the next day, I'll eat some strawberries and cottage cheese, then the next day, have some cereal.

I have so many more, but then, I would be sitting here typing forever!!

I have a lot of weird quirks actually...If a light bulb burns out, I have to change it right away or something bad happens the next day. I never adjust the setting on the shower head. I also have a little toy mouse that sets over the bathroom sink and she has to be setting a certain way; I don't even know how she ended up there. I have to check my purse about 500 hundred times to make sure my money is in there if I'm buying something. I'd die if I got up to the register and didn't have money. :grr:

I do that sometimes, but not enough to be a quirk.

The only quirk I can think of offhand is that at the grocery store, I hate when they put non-cold stuff with cold stuff, or non-food with food. If they do that, I take it out and rearrange it in front of them.

Just thought of another one. I won't eat curled over Doritos. They have to be flat or broken up.
