I watched him some when I was growing up. I always found his show informative.

Then I grew up.

For little kids, he's ok, I guess. I watched him some, as a child.

I watched Mister Rogers when I was a kid.
I recently caught an episode on PBS, and even as an adult it was interesting. Fred Rogers taught his viewers many things, but most importantly, he never talked down to his audience.

I never did get into Mister Rogers. When I was a child, I watched Nick Jr. mostly. And at that time (late 80s, very early 90s) every single thing you watched didn't have to be educational. Kids shows used to be for entertainment and I turned out just fine without Blue's Clues and all of that other crap. I don't think I watched PBS hardly ever when I was growing up.

I didnt have cable until I was in first grade -- so PBS and Saturday Mornings were all I got!

What, you don't do that when you come home?

I do it all the time. Mr. Rogers taught me that...

In fact, I change my shoes whenever I enter another room.

My sweater is so soft. It's a cardigan. Can you say cardigan?

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...

He was VERY cool. He did not look cool, he was such a nice guy. Which made him cool. Let's face it, he was for a different audience, a YOUNGER one. When you're 6 or 7, he made all the difference than if you were 19-20. He had such an easy-going style.

Mister Rogers was definately cool. I loved his show as a kid, and if I could get the chance, I would watch his show now. Whenever I'm at work (as a bagger at Kroger), and the office wants me to deliver mail to any departments, I always enter the departments saying "Speedy Delivery."

It's funny at the time. :)

Surveys show that 93% of people who think Mr. Rogers sucks end up living in their parents basement until their mid-30's.

I hope you aren't among that 93%:(

I'd never live with my parents until I was in my 30's. Maybe you would. Think about it, if you still like Mr. Rogers, you probably still like Barney also. Does your Mommy let you what anything else?

Liking Mister Rogers (in a nostalgic way) doesnt mean I like Barney.

Thats just like saying (and I KNOW this'll piss you off).... that because you like Family Ties, you probably like The Cosby Show too.

I what whatever I want.

I'm fairly new to the board so I did a search on Mister Rogers. When I read your response, all I could do was  I laughed until I cried.

I loved him as a child and even as an adult probably moreso because he's from my hometown and it was always refreshing to see him walking the streets of Pittsburgh.

The Trolley and the Neighborhood of Make Believe live on. :)

Mister Rogers was the bomb growing up, and even now, catching the ocassional episode can be cool. I watched Sesame Street and Barney and Puzzle Place and all those other shows for fun (not to mention Electric Company tapes in kindergarten class...), but Rogers was really a learning experience while also being fun...I miss the old man already...

Honestly, I was never a fan of Mister Rogers. In fact, I could never watch his show on PBS. He always seemed so...creepy to me. The land of makebelieve or whatever the set with all the puppets was called also bothered me as a kid.

So yeah, I always turned off the TV whenever Mister Rogers came on, and I didn't turn it back on until Shari Lewis and Lambchop came on. <3

Laughter is good like a medicine. I just had to copy the quote and response and email it to my brother in Pittsburgh. I can't wait for him to respond. He and I appreciate the same type of humor. I know even Fred McFeely Rogers would have enjoyed your response. :)
