I got the chance to check out an episode of Fish that was located in one of the Columbia House Barney Miler tapes (Quitting Time)..all I can say..it stunk:thumbsdow; annoying characters..I think they casting director went out their way to hire the ugliest brats in Hollywood..I have never seen so many homely children:o especially Victor Kreutzer...The only one that I liked was Diane; she was pleasant and very pretty and Todd Bridges..The rest were horrific...I wished they would made a spin off on Harris and Dietrich as room mates instead of Fish....

That's the only short-lived sitcom that i finally get a chance to see and it was horrible.

I saw a few minutes of a Fish episode and I didn't think it was horrible. I can't believe that I never watched it when it aired on WOR back in the 90's.

I can't understand why people cannot appreciate good television when it's right in front of them. Fish was good stuff and it did not stink. :(

Try giving examples on why you feel Fish was good instead of just making a statement that it was good.

Well for one, there was Abe Vigoda. With him you're basically guaranteed to have the best show on network television. Or at least one of the best. Um, what else? He adopted five orphans and took them in. It warms my heart just thinking about it and was a very big reason Fish won me over. Two reasons this show did not stink. :tiphat:

First Fish did not adopt the children; once he retired from the 12th precinct, he and Bernice decided to have a "Group Home "for unwanted children and young adults. None of these children were adopted by the Fish family. It was Bernice that felt sorry for the children to begin with. Fish never wanted to retire for the police force. So saying that Fish was a good heared person for adopting this children is a little far fetch.

Bernice was the only member of the The Fish Family with a heart of gold ;)
Retired Sgt. Fish was a cranky indifferent hypochondriac.

I liked Fish and all, but he was not one of the funniest characters from Barney Miller. Yemana, Luger and Dietrich were...

I never saw this show, but I have to say I liked Doris Belack as Bernice (who guested in the Barney Miller episode "Fish") better than Florence Stanley. *waits for tomatoes to be tossed her way* :seeya:
