barwars 04-13-2004, 11:40 PM May is without-a-doubt the BEST month (in terms of TV) in EVERY way you look at it.
TC returns to N@N
"Frasier" says farewell.
COUNTLESS TVDVDs
AND TVLand Moguls!!
ClassicComedyFan2 04-14-2004, 12:20 AM The TV Land Kitchen has sunk when they took Batman off. :(
No changes to the regular schedule? At least that means Green Acres and Carol Burnett are safe...for now...
Bewitched Marathon? Can't be bad?
Friends Finale Stunt? I don't like Friends, but this mini-marathon sounds interesting. I've never seen the Ferris Bueller TV show and have also never seen The Wonder Years, Who's The Boss, or Just the Ten of Us.
Frasier's ending? :( :( Oh well, at least the DVDs will still be coming. This mini-marathon's not bad either, but I would have picked different eppies.
TV Land Moguls 70s Part I is disappointing. Although another airing of Chuckles the Clown doesn't hurt. :)
TV Land Moguls 70s Part II is much, much better. Odd Couple's "Password" !!!! Mork & Mindy's crossover pilot! And, I've never seen Charlie's Angels or Starsky & Hutch.
TV Land Moguls 80s is blah. A-Team is good, but that's it.
TV Land Moguls 90s is not remotely interesting.
Now, June is looking very interesting...
TVJunkie101 04-14-2004, 07:54 AM Wow, all in all I'm pretty happy with the specials for May (and April). Those look pretty good. Nice to see at least one episode of so many of those unused shows (Mork and Mindy, etc.). One episode is better than nothing at all I guess.
On the whole, I'm happy, but I am a tad bit disapointed in some things...
"Friends" thingy...
6:00PM/10:00PM Ferris Bueller (Friends' Jennifer Aniston): "Sloan Again Naturally"
6:30PM/10:30PM Just the Ten of Us (Friends' Matt LeBlanc): TBA
7:00PM/11:00PM The Wonder Years (Friends' David Schwimmer): "Dinner Out"
7:30PM/11:30PM Who's the Boss? (Friends' Matthew Perry): "Roomies"
8:00PM/12:00AM Family Ties (Friends' Courtney Cox): "Invasion of the Psychologist Snatchers"
8:30PM/12:30AM Cheers (Friends' Lisa Kudrow): "Two Girls for Every Boyd"
It's no secret that I hate "Friends," but I'll be watching this for sure. Never saw FB, but I love the movie, and the fact that the first two hours of programming are shows not currently on either TVLand or NAN makes me VERY happy.
TVLand Moguls the 70s
10:00pm All in the Family (TV Land Mogul: Norman Lear) #2 Writing The President
10:30pm Jeffersons (TV Land Mogul: Norman Lear) #1 A Friend in Need
11:00pm Maude (TV Land Mogul: Norman Lear) #1 Maude's Problem
11:30pm Sanford and Son (TV Land Mogul: Norman Lear) #1 Crossed Swords
12:00am Mary Tyler Moore (TV Land Mogul: Grant Tinker) #127 Chuckles the Clown
12:30am Bob Newhart (TV Land Mogul: Grant Tinker) #1 Flying The Unfriendly Skies
AITF, I expected, MTM too. Great to see Maude and Bob join in the fun also, but five Lear shows? FIVE? I think they should have tried to get "Rhoda" and/or "WKRP in Cincinatti" to even it out.
TVLand Moguls the 70s Part II
10:00pm Happy Days (TV Land Mogul: Garry Marshall) #1 All the Way
10:30pm Odd Couple (TV Land Mogul: Garry Marshall) #58 Password
11:00pm Mork and Mindy (TV Land Mogul: Garry Marshall) #1 Pilot
11:30pm Mork and Mindy (TV Land Mogul: Garry Marshall) #2 Pilot
12:00am Starsky and Hutch (TV Land Mogul: Aaron Spelling) #1 Savage Sunday
1:00am Charlie's Angels (TV Land Mogul: Aaron Spelling) #4 Angels in Chains
2:00am Love Boat (TV Land Mogul: Aaron Spelling) #1 Captain & The Lady/ One if by Land/ Centerfold
HD I expected, but not OC and M&M, both of which I am happy about. S&H doesn't make sense because thay aired a whole four hour marathon of it in March. They could have got another Spelling show, and I'm sure you all know which show I am referring to. CA, I'm very happy about, even though I've seen that episode a millions times. And LB isn't a big surprise. No Lorimar? They're going to talk about Lorimar/Lee Rich, but not going to show any of his shows? Not even the "Waltons"? I'm sure you all know which two shows I would have preferred though...;)
TVLand Moguls the 80s
10:00pm The Cosby Show (TV Land Moguls: Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner) #1 "Pilot"
10:30pm SOAP (TV Land Moguls: Witt-Thomas-Harris) #24 Guest Stars WKRP's Howard Hesseman and Gordon Jump
11:00pm The A-Team (TV Land Mogul: Stephen J. Cannell) #3 "Children of Jamestown" Super Bowl Episode
Definatly not surprised with TCS, and when I saw that Witt-Thomas-Harris was going to be featured, I was sure they were going to show "Soap." Haven't seen "The A Team" in a while, so I'll watch it.
TVLand Moguls the 90s
10:00pm Doogie Howser, M.D. (TV Land Moguls: David E. Kelley and Stephen Bocho) #1 "Pilot"
10:30pm Picket Fences (TV Land Mogul: David E. Kelley) #1 "Pilot"
Haven't seen DHMD in a while, so I'll watch that. Never even saw PF, so I might watch that. I would have preferred them airing "Melrose Place" for Darren Star instead of two Kelley shows, though.
The special Box Set is interesting. Could this be a return of something that should have never left in the first place?

The first episode of TV Land Moguls will premiere on Wednesday, April 21 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), with subsequent installments airing on the ensuing Wednesdays at 9:00 PM, ET/PT. Immediately following each telecast TV Land will present a specially-themed programming block representing the work of moguls seen in that evening's
episode.
Each installment presents the select group of producers and their
significant creative contributions. Among the roster of celebrated producers featured are Desi Arnaz, Lucille Ball, Sheldon Leonard, Danny Thomas, Carl Reiner, Quinn Martin, Sherwood Schwartz, Norman Lear, Grant Tinker, Aaron Spelling, Garry Marshall, Stephen J. Cannell, Marcy Carsey, Tom Werner, Stephen Bochco, Dick Wolf, Rob Burnett, Darren Star and Jerry Bruckheimer.
Along with rarely seen archival footage, the series also features interviews with many of the actors and actresses who starred in the television programs showcased, including Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Marlo Thomas, Efrem Zimabalist, Jr., Tony Randall, John Amos, Mary Kay Place, Jean Stapleton, Henry Winkler, Gavin McLeod, Alec Baldwin, Joan Van Ark, Ricardo Montalban, Betty White, James Garner, Robert Guillaume, Dennis Franz, Jimmy Smits, Camryn Manheim, Jesse Martin, Jason Priestley, Sarah Jessica Parker, William Petersen, David Caruso and Anthony LaPaglia.
Following is a brief synopsis of each episode:
* The 50's: Television's Golden Age
It was during this time that celebrated television icons
Desi Arnaz, Lucille Ball, Sheldon Leonard and Danny Thomas developed breakthrough television production and 3-camera filming before a live audience. They were instrumental in moving TV production to Los Angeles and created quality, character-driven sitcoms that were ratings winners.
* The 60's
Quinn Martin and Jack Webb brought gritty crime drama and
feature film production quality to the television screen at this
time. Concurrently, Sherwood Schwartz and Paul Henning found success with zany sitcoms including The Beverly Hillbillies and Gilligan's Island.
* The 70's - Part I
Because of their taste, style and tenacity, Grant Tinker
(The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rhoda) and Norman Lear (All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Maude, Sanford & Son) changed the television landscape forever. This installment of TV Land Moguls focuses on how they broke down barriers, opened viewers' minds, and shed light on the world "outside the box" -- illuminating the human spirit. The creative atmosphere
at their production companies nurtured several generations of TV's best talent.
* The 70's - Part II
Although dismissed by the critics, Aaron Spelling and his
partner Leonard Goldberg had one of the most prolific and profitable production company's in the 1970's -- from Charlie's Angels and Starsky & Hutch to The Love Boat and Fantasy Island. Meanwhile, former advertising executive Lee Rich's Lorimar Productions produces The Waltons and Eight Is Enough. However, it's Dallas that brings phenomenal ratings
success and signals the emergence of primetime soaps (Dynasty, Knots Landing, and Garry Marshall strikes a chord with America's funny bone with hits like The Odd Couple, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy.
* The 80's
Stephen J. Cannell dominated network primetime with
action-adventure hits like Baretta, Rockford Files, the A-Team and Wiseguy in the 1980's. Stephen Bochco brought quirky, quality, dramatic hits like Hill Streeet Blues, L.A. Law and N.Y.P.D. Blue to the small screen. The decade also saw the outrageous sitcoms from Witt-Thomas-Harris Productions, including Soap and Benson. Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner achieve the pinnacle of success with their groundbreaking comedy series, The
Cosby Show, Roseanne and A Different World.
* The 90's
Prolific writer/producer David E. Kelley dominates with
Chicago Hope, Picket Fences, Ally McBeal and The Practice at this time. Dick Wolf's New York-based Law & Order franchise debuts, and in addition to hosting and producing his own late night show, comedian David Letterman forms World Wide Pants with Rob Burnett and the two produce The Late,
Late Show with Craig Kilborn, the dramatic series Ed and the hit sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. Darren Star collaborates
with mogul Aaron Spelling to deliver the hit series Beverly Hills,
90210 and Melrose Place. He later goes on to produce HBO's phenomenally successful and groundbreaking series, Sex and The City, which follows the funny and sometimes shocking exploits of four single women in New York City. Jerry Bruckheimer, one of the most successful feature film producer's in the history of film, brings his big-budget film style to
the small screen. Combining state of the art visual effects with authenticity and realism -"feature-television," his hits include
C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation, C.S.I. Miami, and Without A
Trace.

Pavan 04-19-2004, 06:04 PM Before They Were Friends Press Release:
TV LAND GOES ON A FRENZY WHEN CLASSIC TV SALUTES FINAL EPISODE OF FRIENDS
May 6 Salute Features Performers "Before They Were Friends" and People Reminding Viewers to Watch Friends
Santa Monica, CA, April 19, 2004 - As a fitting tribute to Friends, one of television's most popular and enduring sitcoms, TV Land will go on a complete frenzy and pre-empt regularly scheduled programming to salute the series on Thursday, May 6 -- the night of the finale.
TV Land's tribute to Friends will feature two central components. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET/PT, the network will showcase programming featuring each of the cast members in roles "Before They Were Friends" including: Jennifer Aniston in Ferris Bueller's Day Off; Lisa Kudrow in Cheers; Courtney Cox in Family Ties; Matthew Perry in Who's the Boss?; David Schwimmer in The Wonder Years and Matt LeBlanc in Just the 10 of Us. Then, at 9 p.m., for the entire hour that the Friends finale is airing, TV Land will be closed for business. Instead of regularly scheduled programming, viewers tuning in to TV Land will be treated to a room full of TV Land staffers - purportedly watching the Friends finale -- periodically addressing the camera to remind viewers that the Friends finale is on and that we really aren't airing anything so there's no point staying tuned. TV Land will rebroadcast all six episodes of "Before They Were Friends" beginning at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The last time TV Land pre-empted programming to pay tribute to a series was in 1998 to salute the finale of Seinfeld. Throughout the entire hour, TV Land aired nothing to salute the show about nothing. The only thing seen on the channel was an image of TV Land's closed office doors accompanied by a note explaining that the network would return after the conclusion of Seinfeld's finale.
"The end of Friends is the end of an era in television history," states Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land and Nick at Nite. "Friends has proven itself to be a 'modern classic' and TV Land wants to be sure no viewers accidentally miss this historic television event."
Now seen in over 82 million U.S. homes, TV Land's program mix features popular dramas, sitcoms, westerns, Retromercials(r) and a TV-referential interstitial environment, all programmed with a specific audience in mind - the first generation of Americans to grow up watching television and features all time classic hits like All In The Family, I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show, Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie.
They should have never done it all to begin with. TVLand is supposed to be an escape for those of us who don't like the mainstream current shows. I don't usually watch TVLand Primetime, but I am very upset that they are going to do this, it's the most asinine thing I have ever seen a TV channel do.

I agree completely.

Idiotic. That about sums up that statement.
I'm thinking about giving up on TV Land, too. If this is the way they're gonna run their channel, I'll just stick to my tapes and DVDs.
TVJunkie101 04-21-2004, 07:12 AM This is absolutely ridiculous.
I agree totally with JT and TVAdam. Why do they have to do this? Well, whenever TBS loses Friends, we sure know what will take the place of Cosby Show on N@N as the numero uno show ;) LOL.
I have nothing against Friends. I caught an episode the other day, it was funny. But the fact is, it's just a show. Why is it being treated like it's the best thing since sliced bread? Oh well, nothing we can do about it I guess. If TV Land wants to lose viewers for an hour, so be it, lol.
FamilyTiesGOP 04-21-2004, 07:58 PM I thought it was really stupid when they did it for Seinfeld and I think it is even more stupid to do it for Friends. Not everyone will be watching Friends. I think the TV guide said only 50-60 million people will be. More watched the series finale of Cheers and MASH. I for one will NOT be watching Friends or the stupid tribute to them.

Im gonna record the whole thing anyways -- but was just wondering.
Im not a fan -- and IMO, the shorter the better.

That press release has some errors. Check my post in the April thread for the correct times for tonight.

Why do they have crappy show like Charlie's angles and maude, not great shows like EMERGENCY!
Pavan 04-27-2004, 05:38 PM Official release on the Bewitched Mother's Day Stunt:
"Oh Durwood!"
It's Mother's Day on TV Land, Endora Style
TV Land Celebrates with Bewitched's Favorite Mom
Santa Monica, CA, May 1, 2004 - It's a spell-bound Mother's Day on TV Land viewers will enjoy a Mother's Day filled with incantations and hexes as Endora casts her spells in Bewitched: "Mother's Day Endora Style." Beginning on Tuesday, May 4 at 8:00pm to 12:00am ET/PT, (encore presentation Sunday, May 9, 4:00pm-8:00pm ET/PT), viewers will celebrate Mother's Day with eight classic episodes as the network pays homage to the Mother of all Mother in Laws.
The first telecast of Bewitched aired in 1964, featuring the wedding of Samantha and Darrin, a young witch and a mere mortal. Yearning for normality, Samantha vowed never to use witchcraft again, but her relatives did not make the same promise, especially her mother, Endora. Unexpected visits by mischievous witches and warlocks combined with Endora's antics created pandemonium in the Stephens's household.
TV Land's "Mother's Day Endora Style" schedule is as follows:
8:00pm - Bewitched #4 Mother Meet What's His Name?
Darrin returns home for his first meeting with Endora only to find that she has tied up some of the neighborhood boys.
8:30pm - Bewitched #24 Which Witch is Mine?
Endora transforms herself into an identical copy of Samantha, which causes problems when a young author falls for her.
9:00pm - Bewitched #50 Speak The Truth
Endora believes there would be instant chaos if humans only told the truth. To prove this, Endora places a statuette in Darrin's office forcing everyone, except Samantha, to tell the truth.
9:30pm - Bewitched #58 The Dancing Bear
When both Endora and Mrs. Stephens buy Tabitha the same toy bear, Endora uses her magical powers to make her toy bear dance.
10:00pm - Bewitched #62 Baby's First Paragraph
While Samantha and Darrin meet an important client, Endora baby-sits with Tabitha and promises not to use any magic. Already tired of hand-me-downs and believing that his stepmother hates him, Bobby starts packing when his brothers and stepsisters don't include him in their plans and leave him at home alone.
10:30pm - Bewitched #80 Endora Move in for a Spell
Uncle Arthur and Endora clash over Tabitha's powers and debate who's to live across the street. They keep zapping a house there until Sam insists they make up.
11:00pm - Bewitched #120 Solid Gold Mother In Law
One of Darrin's partners is convinced that Endora is a saint and that Darrin mistreats her shamefully.
11:30pm - Bewitched #141 Samantha's Wedding Present
Endora offers Sam a belated wedding gift.

4:00PM & 4:30PM Green Acres (replaces Bewitched)
5:00PM & 5:30PM The Munsters (replaces Green Acres)
6:00PM & 6:30PM Leave it to Beaver (replaces The Munsters)
7:00PM & 7:30PM The Andy Griffith Show (replaces Leave it to Beaver)
8:00PM & 8:30PM Green Acres (replaces Andy Griffith/Munsters)
9:00PM & 9:30PM Leave it to Beaver (replaces Green Acres/Bewitched)
10:00PM & 10:30PM The Andy Griffith Show (replaces 10:30 p.m. Leave it to Beaver)
11:00PM & 11:30PM Three's Company (replaces Family Ties/Cheers)
12:00AM & 12:30AM Mon-Thurs Cheers (replaces Sanford & Son/All in the Family)
1:00AM & 1:30AM Mon-Thurs Family Ties (replaces MacGyver)
2:00AM Carol Burnett & Friends (replaces I Love Lucy)
2:30AM Bewitched (replaces Carol Burnett & Friends)
3:00AM The Waltons (replaces Mister Ed/Green Acres)
TVJunkie101 05-04-2004, 01:35 PM Wow, lots of changes.
First off, I do like Cheers, but why must it be on four times on two networks? Either N@N or TV Land. Not both. And yes, I feel that way about any show.
I'm not happy Family Ties is now on from 1am-2am, but I do like the back-to-back episodes. The episodes will go a little faster. I hate having a show air just one episode a day when there are so many episodes, lol.
I don't see a need for two double-take blocks for Green Acres, Andy Griffith or Leave it to Beaver, but at least a Beaver block will get replaced by Addams Family come June. I'm sure Flip Wilson will also take one of those double-take slots come July. Glad to see a MacGyver airing taken away.
Mister Ed's gone already, huh? Glad I taped the show, lol. Didn't last long, 6/7 months. Bewitched only twice a day? I'd rather it have a double-take due to all the episodes it has, oh well.
I'm THRILLED about Three's Company. I had a feeling we'd see it in May or June. It's kind of weird because in LucyFan's "What Should June TVL Look Like" thread, I put TC in the 11-12 slot, lol.

I think Mister Ed will be back on Sundays in June if the 48 hour marathons do stop June 6. Bewitched twice a day? I think it'll only be once, at 2:30am.

Oh, that's right, LOL! I don't why, but I thought Bewitched was still on in the mornings.
Czas na Zywiec 05-04-2004, 02:08 PM Well then...
The good news is Three's Company's return. I'm stoked. :D
Back to back Family Ties is also awesome...the only thing is it's on at 2am. But since it's summer, I'll be able to be up that late. So it's not too horrible.
But what the hell is with all the Green Acres, Leave it to Beavers, and Andy Griffith's? Two double blocks? I think two episodes of any show is enough for one day. Plus, Beaver and Andy's been rerun to death. How about get rid of them for a few months and break up those double takes in the meantime.

Leave it to Beaver's two doubles blocks will be one double block by May 31, replaced Addams Family at 9 and 9:30pm. Beaver and Andy are TV Land's highest rated shows, there is no chance they will be removed for a few months, unless contract airplay problems arises. You have to remember, TV Land is a business, and ratings is all that any channel cares for.
If I were TV Land I'd do this though ...
By May 31:
12:00PM Family Ties
12:30PM Family Ties
12:00AM All in the Family
12:30AM All in the Family
1:00AM Sanford & Son
1:30AM Sanford & Son
4:00AM Mister Ed
4:30AM I Love Lucy
Cheers is already on Nick@Nite, no need at all to air it 12-1pm and 12-1am. (Since TV Land and Nick@Nite are related, they can remove it from one channel, not like how people complain that Nick@Nite should remove Cosby Show, it's already on TBS. That's not Nick@Nite's problem, they have nothing to do with TBS. Why mess up their ratings when a show is doing well for them, same goes for Full House & Roseanne on other channels.) All in the Family & Sanford & Son will be only down to one airing come next week, at 4 and 4:30am. Mister Ed is missing, let it have one slot at least, and air Lucy twice a day. Family Ties is better suited in the afternoon following Happy Days and Brady Bunch.
ClassicComedyFan2 05-04-2004, 05:31 PM The return of Fandemonium! Cool! It has been sorely missed!
Good to see Three's Company back. Mr. Ed gone? Wow. I guess I should get the DVD release...
The schedule looks good, but lets hope that the Andy Griffith Show gets back to the B&W episodes. A bit of overkill on Beaver, but if it gets good ratings, it's perfectly logical.

Dont get me wrong.... I like most of those shows....
but DOUBLE TAKES SUCK!!
I don't care how high-rated TAGS and LITB are. If they are the highest rated shows, they can be shown once in the morning, once in primetime and once in late-night. That way, fans of the shows who stay home all day can watch it, those who get off from work/school in the afternoon can watch it, and those who work get off real late can watch it.
I'm glad TC is coming to TVLand. It's long overdue. Cheers shouldn't be on TVLand. It's already on NAN, and the two hours Cheers has on TVLand can be used for other shows, such as Sanford and Son, All in the Family, Carol Burnett and Bewitched.
Every show on TVLand, imo should get at least two airings per day. Not nessecarily back-to-back, but at least two airings.
If I had control of the TVLand lineup, using only the shows on the May 10 sked, minus Cheers and MacGyver, this is how I'd do it:
ALL TIME CENTRAL, of course
6am: The Waltons
7am: Bonanza
8am: Gunsmoke
9am: Bewitched
9:30: I Dream of Jeannie
10am: Sanford and Son
10:30: All in the Family
11am: The Andy Griffith Show
11:30: Leave it to Beaver
12pm: The Waltons
1pm: Green Acres
1:30: Green Acres
2pm: The Munsters
2:30: The Munsters
3pm: Happy Days
3:30: The Brady Bunch
4pm: Family Ties
4:30: Carol Burnett and Friends
5pm: Bewitched
5:30: I Dream of Jeannie
6pm: Sanford and Son
6:30: All in the Family
7pm: The Andy Griffith Show
7:30: Leave it to Beaver
8pm: I Love Lucy
8:30: Three's Company
9pm: Happy Days
9:30: The Brady Bunch
10pm: Family Ties
10:30: Carol Burnett and Friends
11pm: Bonanza
12am: Gunsmoke
1am: The Andy Griffith Show
1:30: Leave it to Beaver
2am: I Love Lucy
2:30: Three's Company
And look at that! Three hours left over that I don't know what to do with! Oh, I have an idea! Let's put some shows that haven't been aired in a long while there! Let them start at the bottom but work their way to the top!
3am: That Girl
3:30: Alice
4am: One Day at a Time

I don't like these changes at all (except for the addition of
Three's Company). TV Land should discard these changes (except for 3's Co. one) and remain with it's current schedule, it's a lot better.
With that said, their late afternoon/evening schedule would look like this:

5-6 - "Green Acres"
6-7 - "The Munsters"
7-8 - "Leave It To Beaver"
8-8:30 - "The Andy Griffith Show"

storrs19 05-05-2004, 01:03 PM What a load of crap!! I'm glad I taped Mr. Ed while it was on, even though it is the chopped up versions. Maybe someday it will be out on DVD properly. I'm so sick of TAGS, LITB, ILL, and The Munsters I could puke forever.
Anyway, what TVLand does really doesn't effect me since I don't watch the channel amymore. I quit watching when all of the N@N 80's reject hand me downs came along. This channel is supposed to be CLASSIC television. I remember when it started back in 1996, what a great channel.
When I think of all the good shows they don't even bother to acquire the rights to...
As for what someone said in another topic (now closed) about why some people get so mad about this?
The answer is: We are sick and tired of having our channels taken away from us. First N@N goes down the toilet, ok TVLand comes to the rescue. Now TVLand is fast going down the toilet, what now do we need another new channel again.
Forget Hallmark, all they have on are tons of hour long depression shows. What did they do with all of their sitcoms ??
Chain Gang Member 05-05-2004, 07:12 PM I always had this feeling that Three's Company would come to TV Land.I'm glad this prediction came true
Pavan 05-06-2004, 08:30 PM Here's the Ferris Bueller logo. This marathon was pretty good. I'd rather watch TV Land's crew watching Friends than watching Friends itself though, lol.

Pavan 05-09-2004, 01:10 PM Quick notes: TV Land Kitschen was changed and the new schedule for the Kitschen that was supposed to be didn't happen on Friday night. Instead the TV Land kitschen (which is only Friday nights now, because of the weekend marathons) is all H.R. Pufnstuf from 12 to 2 a.m.
The Dick Van Dyke Reunion stunt's date has now changed. TV Land Moguls programming will not re-air now on Sunday mornings because of the weekend marathons. And finally, the Bewitched Mother's Day stunt will not re-air tonight because of the weekend marathons.
Confused? Just check the first post in this thread, and you won't be.

Friday NIGHTS ONLY 12:00AM TO 2:00AM ET/PT
TV Land Presents an all-new Kitschen line-up featuring classic Marty & Krofft shows, which started in April. Each month TV Land will air different shows from the Marty & Krofft library. This month's schedules follows:
12:00AM H.R. Pufnstuf
12:30AM H.R. Pufnstuf (replaces Lidsville)
1:00AM H.R. Pufnstuf (replaces Sigmund & The Sea Monsters)
1:30AM H.R. Pufnstuf (replaces Electra Woman & Dynagirl)
YES!!! We get four episodes of this one great show instead of two. I'm happy that H.R. Pufnstuf get those extra two arings because I love this show and I really didn't care for the rest of "Sid & Marty" Kroffs shows on there anyway. This is just awesome!

In regards to Ferris Bueller, two things. First, I've seen all the episodes and the show really never captured the feel of the flick. It was okay, sure, but without Matthew Broderick there was no chance of it surviving.
Secondly, I think a lot of people tuned into the "Before They Were Friends" thing on TVLand because in the past few days my page on Ferris Bueller (http://www.tvobscurities.com/shows/ferris.htm) has seen an astounding amount of traffic, rocketing up to the third most-viewed page on my site. I've even gotten some hits from the Internet Movie Database!
pavanbadal, do you happen to know how many viewers that TVLand stunt got?

I'm not sure about the Before They Were Friends stunt, but the 9 to 10 p.m. TV Land staff watching "Friends" actually pulled in 133,000 viewers, lol.
Nice Ferris Bueller site by the way, feel free to use the logo I made.

Ha! I remember hearing a story about some local station airing a Yule log burning for a few hours and getting something like 800,000 viewers. Can't be sure if that's true or just my faulty memory. Regardless, thanks for the information.
Pavan 05-12-2004, 12:37 PM TV Land will now re-air the DVD Reunion on the 18th. First it was the 21st, then 19th, now the 18th, lol:
TV Land to Present Hit Special, 'The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited', on Tuesday May 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
NEW YORK, May 12 -- TV Land's first original special for
broadcast television under the TV Land Productions banner, "The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited," will be rebroadcast on TV Land on Tuesday, May 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The one-hour special features original cast members Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Carl Reiner and Rose Marie reprising their roles on the beloved
show. Ray Romano, star of "Everybody Loves Raymond," hosts the 159th episode, now in color, which catches up with Rob and Laura Petrie in the present day.
It was at last year's "TV Land Awards: A Celebration of Classic TV," that the idea for the special first came about. While on stage accepting the "Legend Award" for The Dick Van Dyke Show, creator Carl Reiner publicly reached out to fellow cast members Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore, Rose Marie and Larry Mathews to appear in a contemporary new episode of the classic
series. The special was filmed in Los Angeles in March 2004.
"TV Land Productions is thrilled to have developed this much-anticipated special," states Sal Maniaci, Vice President of Development and Production, TV Land and Nick at Nite. "To be able to work along celebrated TV icons like Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore and Carl Reiner for our very first broadcast special was the opportunity of a lifetime. TV Land is proud to have made this and we are very excited to present this to our viewers."
The contemporary setting of "The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited" is in the present day, more than forty years since the series was originally broadcast.
In this new episode, Rob and Sally receive a strange request from Alan Brady, who is not even sick, to write a eulogy for him before he dies -- one which he can read and have the chance to rewrite. The cast, all in character, reunites with Alan to reminisce about some of their favorite memories. Classic clips from the original series will be showcased.
Reiner, who wrote the special, also serves as Executive Producer. Sal Maniaci serves as Producer and Ken Whitingham ("The Bernie Mac Show") as Director.
TV Land Productions was created in 2003 to create original programming that complements the network's successful acquired programming slate. TV Land Productions is headed by Sal Maniaci, Vice President of Development and Production, TV Land and Nick at Nite. In addition to this first production for

Every episode of H.R. Pufnstuf is already out on DVD. They should be showing the shows that aren't available in stores. I was mad when it was just shown once in the lineup. And now it's on FOUR times.
