Everyone goes out of their way to find Shirley a date for the party, in which Dwayne ended up doing.

Granted, I used to do things such as go to the store for and walk my neighbor's dog, but they were involving themselves in people's personal lives. :lol:

Raj spending his own money at an escort service for Shirley, Rerun asking his shady brother to go out with her, and Dwayne dumping a girl, for SHIRLEY??? How nice could you get???

It is pretty much taking things to the extreme with doing something nice for your friends, but it is a sitcom and in the '70s.

Some things they did border on Brady Bunch territory, but the jokes and the insults still put the show on another level.

I agree that it was a little offbase that they were so nice, but like dlemond said, the insults balanced things out.
