This is a Sequel to Call Someone. Hope you like it.

It is 7 months later and CD is now almost 8 months pregnant with Nates baby of course but they did not get married. CD didn't want to get married because of the baby. Magda got a new partner. Her name was Stacy and she was very annoying. Magda has been moody ever since she was partnered with her. Nate was bugging CD because he was always on her all the time. He wanted to make sure she wasn't hurting the baby in the least bit. CD thought it was sweet but it was begining to annoy her. Kate and Raina were the same. Raina was studying to take the Inspector's test. No one sat in Jinny's desk. They left the desk just as it was in memory of her. They didn't remove anything from it. Magda and Kate sometimes just gaze at it but they learned to control their feelings. It is now 7:50 and people are just arriving at work. Magda and Kate were all ready there and they were talking when CD and Nate walked in.

Kate- Hi Nate.
Nate- Hello.

Nate was holding CD's hand as she is walking in.

Kate- Oh my God CD! What's wrong??
CD- Nothing why?
Kate- Why is Nate guiding you in?
CD- Because he is a guard dog. He was afraid walking would hurt the baby. *Rolled her eyes*
Magda- *Laughs* Nate what is wrong with you?
Nate- Am I the only one that cares? It said in all the baby books that extreme exercise can make you go into labor.
CD- I wouldn't call getting on an elevator exercise.
Nate- Well I would now come on you need to sit down.

CD- Hi Raina.
Raina- Hi CD how are you? And how is our little darling here? *Pats her belly*
CD- The baby is good. I have an appoitnment to see the doctor this afternoon--if that is ok with Cap'n.
Kate- Of course. Take all the time you need.
CD- Thanks.
Kate- Ok assignments. Magda where is your partner?
Magda- Well the person I am working with isn't here yet. She isn't my partner.
Kate- *Noded* Ok there is a murder at a McDonald's. Who wants that?

CD was about to raise her hand but Nate put it down for her and spoke up.

Nate- Is there anything else?
CD- *Pouted*
Kate- There is another murder in Chinatown.

CD was again about to raise her hand but Nate put it down again.

Nate- Next..
Kate- Well I only have one left. That is bringing people in for questioning on that robbery.
Nate- We will do that.
CD- *Gets out of her chair* Nate, come with me. *Pulled Nate out of the chair and dragged him over to the locker room door*
Nate- What's the matter with you??
CD- You are being a *****. Why won't you let me do any cases??
Nate- I did! We are doing the robbery.
CD- That's not a case. I want to do a murder or something. Nate you are making it to obvious.
Nate- Making what too obvious?
CD- That this is your kid!!

Kate and Magda heard that and started laughing.

Magda- Seems like CD is givin him hell in there.
Kate- Sure does.

Just then Stacy walked in.

Stacy- Hi sorry I am late! I saw this sale on this absolutely gorgeous hat and I fell in love. I had to have it.
Kate- A hat? I see.
Stacy- Well ya look at it.. *Pulled a pink hat with tulips at the top out of a bag* Isn't it?
Kate- I--I would wear it everyday.
Stacy- Really?? *Excited*

Kate rolled her eyes and went into her office.

Magda- Stacy, if we are going to be partners, I can't have you being late all the time.
Stacy- I'm not that late.
Magda- Late enough to disrupt our work.
Stacy- Geez, did you treat your last partner like this?
Magda- Leave her out of this.
Stacy- Did you treat her like a little kid??
Magda- Stacy...
Stacy-..like your own personal slave? HUH??

CD- So please stop treating me differently ok?
Nate- Ok. Here let me help you--
CD- *Glared*
Nate- Ok. We can do a murder case.
CD- Thank you. We need to stop by the store on the way.
Nate- Why?
CD- I need more cheese.
Nate- *Laughs remembering that is all she will eat during her pregnancy* Of course.
CD- Thanks. Let's go tell Captain.

Magda couldn't help herslef and punched her right in the nose. Stacy got right up and tackled Magda to the floor. They were hitting and kicking each other. CD was coming around the cornor and didn't see them. She got caught right in the middle of it. They were rolling on the floor and as Stacy was trying to get up, she accidentally pushed her elbow into CD's stomach and CD fell down.

Nate- *Helping her up* I had better take you to a doctor.
CD- I told you I was fine. Just sore now! *Glared at Stacy*
Stacy- Look, CD I am sorry.
CD- Sure you are. You could have killed my baby!!

Nate got freaked out by that comment and quickly took CD's hand.

Nate- Come on CD.
CD- What where am I going?!
Nate- I am taking you to the doctor's.
CD- What? Why?
Nate- Because that bitch may have hurt the baby!!
Stacy- HEY!
Nate- *Rolled his eyes* Come on!

He said that and dragged CD to the elevator while Kate was dealing with those two.

Kate- Ramirez, Newland, in my office..NOW!

CD- What is the matter with you??
Nate- She may have hurt the baby. I am not taking any chances and you shouldn't either.
CD- Nate--
Nate- Just do it! For me.
CD- *Pouts* Fine..*grumbles* ..as long as I can get some cheese on the way.
Nate- *Grins* Ok.

Kate- What the hell was that?
Magda- I'm sorry. It won't happen again.
Kate- Your damned right it won't. Obviously you two can't be partners.
Stacy- Thank God.
Kate- What was that Officer?
Stacy- Nothing.
Kate- Well maybe you can think about this over your suspension.
Stacy- What? What about her??
Kate- She will be dealt with but SHE wasn't the one who hurt a pregnant inspector. Thank goodness she went to the doctor. Do you realize what you could have done. You could have damaged the baby. We don't even know if you didn't.
Stacy- I apologized! Damnit what does a person have to do around here to prove they are sorry?
Kate- Turn in your badge and gun now please.

Dr. Jacobs- Hi Candace. Nathan.
Nate- Hi Doctor.
Dr. Jacobs- What seems to be the trouble? You came here on an emergency.
Nate- Well this is important.
Dr. Jacobs- I am sure it is but not many people threaten to arrest my nurses if they don't let you in to see me. I think one nurse went home crying. *Laughs*
CD- *Laughs* I told him not to do that.
Dr. Jacobs- So what's wrong?
Nate- She got hit at work in the stomach.
Dr. Jacobs- Does it hurt CD?
CD- Just sore.
Dr. Jacobs- Well we will make sure nothing happened to the baby ok?
Nate- Thank you.

Kate came out of her office and walked over to Magda's desk.

Kate- Can you tell me what happened?
Magda- It's not important.
Kate- It is to me.
Magda- Nothing. She brought up Jinny and was saying stuff so I gave her what she needed. I know it is childish and I won't do it again.
Kate- You have said that about the last 4 partners you have had. Now 5. I can't have you keep going through partners. I have someone coming in the afternoon for an interview. She is already an Inspector so if she does good on her interview, she will be your new partner ok?
Magda- All right.

Dr. Jacobs- Exactly what happened?
Nate- She was elbowed in the stomach by an Inspector.
CD- I am here you know. I can answer what is wrong with me.
Nate- I'm sorry.
Dr. Jacobs- Me too. What happened CD?
CD- Well, I was elbowed in the stomach by an Inspector. *Laughs*
Dr. Jacobs- Well, all things considered, everything seems to be all right. You will be very sore though..and have a nice bruise. I want you to take a maternity leave as soon as you can and I don't mean in 2 months. I mean if it is possible, by the end of the week at the latest.
CD- But--
Dr. Jacobs- No. No buts. You need to do this. Do you want to hurt your baby?
CD- No.
Dr. Jacobs- Well then we need to do this.
CD- Ok. *Pouts*

When she passed Magda's desk, Magda just stared at her. There wasn't a complete resemblance but she looked familiar. Meanwhile, CD and Nate were coming out of the doctors office and drove back to the station. When they were going into the elevator, there were having a little argument.

Nate- CD you have to do this.
CD- Nate, what am I going to do with myself for the next month?? I can't do it. It is only for a month. I will go on light duty but that is as far as I am going.
Nate- You have to go home. I will let you stay this week but starting Monday you are staying home.
CD- You don't own me. I will do what I want when I want.

She stepped out of the elevator and into the Felony Division and saw Magda and Raina standing there. She was walking towards them when Nate yelled out something a little too loud. Captain walked out with the new Inspector just in time to hear what he was about to say..

Nate- I may not own you but that is my baby too!!!!!!!

Nate- What did I say? *Acts dumb*
Kate- Nate, you said you were the father of CD's baby. Is it true?
Nate- I don't remember saying that.
Kate- Don't do this. You know perfectly well you said it.
CD- Nate we should just tell her.
Nate- Tell her what? We have nothing to tell.
CD- Nate! Just tell her.
Nate- Tell her what!??!
CD- Dear God Nate. I am telling you we have to tell her. Captain, this is Nate's baby.
Nate- *Stood up and looked shocked* What!? Captain, I had no idea.
CD- NATE!!!
Kate- CD don't get worked up. I don't know what I am going to do with you two. You are my best Inspectors and you two do well together.
CD- Well I could only stay a little while longer. The doctor said I have to take an early maternity leave.
Kate- Well until then, we will let this go. Now get out of here. *Smiled*

CD and Nate left the office and CD was very mad.

CD- How could you do that??
Nate- Do what?
CD- Deny it after I told her.
Nate- You told me never to tell her.

While Nate was talking CD leaned on the desk and looked like she was in a lot of pain and Nate didn't notice. He was still talking.

CD- Nate..

Magda walked over to CD's desk and held her hand. Kate came out of her office.

Kate- Now what's going on?
Magda- We think CD is in labor.
Kate- Oh my God. CD how are you doing.
CD- Just freaking great.
Kate- Ok.
CD- Sorry Captain. It just..hurts.
Kate- I know it does.
Magda- Ok CD just breathe. Everything is ok. Just concentrate.
Nate- Ok I just paged the doctor. She should be calling back. CD are you ok?
CD- *Glares*

Dr. Jacobs had just finished with a patient when her beeper went off and saw Nate's number. She just laughed wondering what is wrong now. She called Nate right away.

Nate- Just relax. Everything will be ok. *Phone rings* Basso? Hi Doctor.
Dr. Jacobs- Nate, what's wrong?
Nate- She is having stomach pains. I don't know what to do. It's too early. I am not prepared. We haven't even went shopping yet. Ok maybe we did but I still don't know what to do. What if it is sick? What if--
Dr. Jacobs- CALM DOWN! Ok Nate has her water broken?
Nate- No she didn't have any water! What does drinks have to do with this!?!?
CD- You idiot!!! Just tell her no. *Starts breathing as more pain comes on*
Nate- I'm not an idiot. Dr. she said no it hasn't.
Dr. Jacobs- Ok you two come down to my office.
Nate- We have to get to the hospital first.
Dr. Jacobs- I am telling you. Come down to my office. It could be false labor since she is perfectly healthy. Or you could be right. She could be in early labor. Was she at work or arguing with anyone?
Nate- Both.
Dr. Jacobs- Who was she yelling at?
Nate- *mumbled* ..me.
Dr. Jacobs- What?
Nate- Me.
Dr. Jacobs- Nate what did you do?
Nate- LONG story.
Dr. Jacobs- Alright just bring her down here. You have got a lot of time with the first ones.
Nate- Ok. Bye.

Nate hung up the phone and went over to CD.

Nate- Ok we have to go down to the doctors.
CD- I thought we were going to the hospital?
Nate- She wants us to go to her first so she can check you out.
CD- Ok *Pauses as more pain comes on*
Kate- Call us and let us know what is going on so we could be there.
Nate- Ok Captain. Come on CD. Let's go.

They made it all the way down to the doctors office and got taken in immediately. The Doctor came in.

They made it all the way down to the doctors office and got taken in immediately. The Doctor came in.

Doctor- Wow it seems like I haven't seen you in a while. *Smiles*
CD- *Not amused*

The doctor examined CD.

Doctor- Ok you have gone into early labor. I want to admit you to the hospital to try and stop the labor. Is that ok?
CD- That's fine! Anything to stop this!!!

They got to the hospital and a nurse took CD to her room and gave her medicine to help stop the labor. CD was not to get out of bed. Her and Nate talked.

Nate- CD Im sorry.
CD- For what?
Nate- For arguing with you. I shouldn't have said what I said in Captain's office and we were fighting. I shouted and I made you go into labor. I am so sorry. Let's never fight again.
CD- Well we all know that won't happen. *Laughs* I will be ready to kill when i deliver this baby. Especially now that I know what contractions feel like.
Nate- *Laughs* In pain and she still has her sense of humor. I love you.
CD- I love you too. *Kiss*

The nurse then came in about 2 hours later to see if the medicine was working.

Magda kept thinking she looked like, acted like, and spoke like Jinny. She thought it was kind of funny but it made her miss Jinny more and more. Nate got CD home and he sent her right to bed.

Nate- Is there anything I can get you honey?

Nate returned with the water. CD tried to get up for a minute but Nate caught her.

Nate- And where do you think you are going??
CD- Well the TV is out there so I want to go watch it.
Nate- I will move the TV in here. You are not getting out of this bed. Understood?
CD- *Grins* And if I dont?
Nate- Well then I will just have to place you under arrest. *Smirks* With my handcuffs. *Kisses her*
CD- Oh it's worth going to jail over.

Magda and Jenny were on their way to the crime scene. They were quiet most of the way so Magda broke the silence.

Magda- So tell me a little bit about yourself.
Jenny- Well, I have 2 brothers. My dad died when I was little. I live alone. I can't keep a steady boyfriend. *Kind of laughs* And I don't have a dog.
Magda- I'm sorry about your dad.
Jenny- Thanks. How about you?
Magda- Well I have a son, Ben. He is eight. I might be getting married. I have been working at The Division for about 5 years and I don't have a dog either. *Laughs*
Jenny- Might be getting married?
Magda- Well he asked me but I am not sure I want to go through with it.
Jenny- Oh ok. So what happened to your last partner?
Magda- She was just suspended today. She and I got into a fight.
Jenny- Yikes. What about?
Magda- She was making fun of my old partner.
Jenny- What happened to her.
Magda- *Pauses* She was killed.
Jenny- Oh I'm sorry. In the line of duty?
Magda- No. By her boyfriend.
Jenny- Oh. Is he in jail?
Magda- Yeah he has been there for about 7 months and he will be spending a long time in there for murdering a police officer. She was my best friend. *Starts to get teary*
Jenny- So is that why all the flowers and stuff were there?
Magda- Yeah that was her desk. Jinny Exstead.
Jenny- She sounds cool.
Magda- Yeah she was. She was the best.

They got to the crime scene. There were 2 dead bodies. It looked like a married couple.

Magda- What do we got?
Officer- Someone stopped a car here as you can see the tire tracks. The victims were Cathy Jones and Robert Jones. They were shot to the back of the head.
Jenny- Alright let's get the tire tracks to the lab.
Magda- Yeah. Any witnesses?
Officer- This woman over here.
Jenny- Ok thank you.

Magda and Jenny walked over to the woman. She looked about 50. She seemed frightened for some reason.

Magda- Ma'am. I am Inspector Ramirez and this is my partner Inspector Ex-- I mean Inspector Schroller. We're from the San Francisco Police Department. We were informed that you were a witness to this crime.
Woman- Yes I saw a man with a rifle getting out of a car.
Magda- What was the mke of the car?
Woman- Brown.
Jenny- That's it?
Woman- I am 53 years old. My eyesight isn't what is used to be Inspector.
Jenny- Ok do you remember what the man looked like?
Woman- He was tall.
Magda- *Looked at Jenny rolling her eyes* Ok we will be in touch Mrs...
Woman- Miss Parker.
Magda- Ok Miss Parker it is most likely we will need to question you again.
Woman- *Looked worried*
Jenny- Ma'am are you ok?
Woman- Yes. Fine.

Kate- Jenny, Magda, I got information on the case. The tire tracks belong to a Brown Elantra. He also left prints on the bodies.
Jenny- Not to smart now is he?
Kate- His name is Bryan Parker.
Magda- Parker. That's the name of the woman we questioned.
Jenny- We need to bring her back in here.

They sent a patrol car to pick her up and bring her into the station. They had her waiting in an interrogation room as Jenny and Magda watched her through the window. She was crying her eyes out. They finally went in.

Magda- Miss Parker, giving false information to a police officer is not a good idea. Why didn't you tell us the killer of a newly wed couple was your husband?
Woman- I don't know. I was shocked at the time I guess.
Jenny- Well you couldn't have been that shocked. Remembering that a killer is your husband doesn't leave your memory that well. Tell us exactly what happened NOW!
Woman- Alright! Bryan was married to Cathy. They were married for 5 years. Then Cathy wanted a divorce and it broke Bryan's heart but he accepted it. Robert Jones was his best friend. He and Cathy were dating for a couple months until he proposed to her. Bryan was devistated. About 1 year later he met me and 2 years after that, Cathy and Bryan were married. She got pregnant right away. Cathy told Bryan during their marriage that she didn't want kids. Cathy gave birth to a son about 3 months ago. He wanted to kidnap the son to raise him as his own. He felt that baby should be his. So he asked me to help him out but I refused. He brought me along anyway to help with the kid. I thought if I didn't, the baby would get hurt. I only came to help the baby. Then when Cathy and Robert struggled, he shot them. *Starts to cry* Then he didn't even look at me and bolted with the baby in his car. That is all I know I swear. I don't know where he is.

Meanwhile, CD and Nate are at home. CD is still in bed and Nate is waiting on her hand and foot. Nate had to run to the store quickly to get her more spray cheese.

CD- You sure you don't mind?
Nate- No it's ok. So thats 5 cans of srapy cheese, two bags of White Cheddar Cheese popcorn, 3 bags of Sour Cream and Cheddar chips, 1 bag of Cool Ranch Doritos, and 5 bags of Nacho cheese Doritos.
CD- And the Cheese Doodles. Don't forget the Cheese Doodles. *Smiles*
Nate- Ok I will be back in a flash.

When he left, CD got up. Nate felt her getting up and ran back into the apartment.

Nate- What are you doing??
CD- What are you doing back?
Nate- I felt vibrations of you getting up and--
CD- Vibrations??
Nate- Yes. What are you doing out of bed?
CD- I was only getting some Iced Tea.
Nate- I will get it for you.
CD- You know, I think when the Doctor said I have to stay in bed, I think she meant I couldn't work or do anything straining. I don't think getting a drink is in that catagory.
Nate- Well I do. Now get back into bed!
CD- FINE! *Grins*

When Nate came back, he went into CD's bedroom to find she wasn't there and began to panic. He looked all over the apartment to find her. He finally found her in the baby's room. It was yellow with the old fashioned Winnie the Pooh crib, changing table, mobiles, and other funiture on it. She was sitting in a rocking chair and just dazed.

Nate- Sweety, what are you doing in here?
CD- *Came out of her daze* I was just thinking.
Nate- *Came closer to her* About what?
CD- Thinking about whether or not I am cut out for this. Whether I will be a good mother.
Nate- You will be a great mother.
CD- I don't know. *Teary* My mother wasn't the best and I am sure she thought the same when she was about to have me. What if I do the same to my baby that she did to me?
Nate- You won't. Trust me. I saw how happy you were when you found out you were pregnant. I saw how happy you were when you and I decorated this room. You were glowing. You are going to love this baby with all your heart and so will I. You know we are going to be great parents to this baby and I will always be here to help you through this.
CD- Thanks. *Smiles* But what about Captain? She knows about us now. We won't be able to work together.
Nate- Well I would rather work somewhere else than not be this baby's father. You and my child come first, not work.
CD- You really mean that?
Nate- Of course I do. I love you CD. And I love our baby.
CD- We love you too. *Kisses Nate*
Nate- Well enough lovey dovey stuff. What are you doing out of bed young lady??
CD- You had a brief shining moment there Nate.
Nate- *Laughs* Come on. I got you your food.

CD had a huge smile across her face and rushed out to the kitchen to get her chips and cheese.

After a week of working as hard as they could, Jenny and Magda still haven't found who had done this. It was now harder since there is now a kidnapping involved. There was no call however for ransom which meant he is planning on keeping him. All of a sudden, Cathy cam rushing through the doors of the Felony Division.

Miss Parker- Inspectors! Can I please talk to you.
Magda- Come with us.

They lead her into an interrogation room.

Miss Parker- Bryan called me about an hour ago. He was asking me what to do since he was crying so hard. I told him to take him to County General because baby's aren't supposed to be crying so hard. I know he is going there and I got the number he called from. *she wrote it on a piece of paper*
Jenny- Thank you very much Miss Parker.
Miss Parker- I know the baby won't be hurt but he is no good with Bryan all by himself.
Magda- We will go there now.

They went to the hospital while officers tracked the phone number. When they found the house where the number was coming from, uniforms went to the house and found baby toys, bottles, playpins, etc. They also found a shirt with blood stains on it. You can tell someone tried to get it off but it didn't work. They took the shirt as evidence. When Jinny and Magda went to the hospital they tried to hide the fact that they were cops and called ahead so they can go into the pediactric ER to see if he was there. A man was sitting down waiting to go in. He was with a baby boy that looked about 3 months old. Jenny went to sit next to him. Magda gave her a look like 'What are you doing?' Jenny gave a look like 'Trust me.' She sat next to him.

Jenny- That's a beatiful son you have.
Guy- Thank you.
Jenny- How old is he?
Guy- Almost 4 months old. *Baby smiled*
Jenny- He is adorable.
Guy- Do you have a baby being looked at right now?
Jenny- *Thinking of what to say* Yes, my husband is with my little girl right now.
Guy- Oh. What's wrong with her?
Jenny- High fever. What's wrong with your son?
Guy- He has been crying rather hard. I wanted to make sure nothing was wrong.
Jenny- My name is Rachael Louis. What's your name?
Guy- Bryan Parker nice to meet you.

They shook hands but Jenny wouldn't let go of his. She quickly took out handcuffs while Magda came rushing over and grabbed the baby.

Bryan- Wha--what's going on??
Jenny- Inspector Schroller, San Francisco Police Department and you Bryan Parker are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent....

When they arrested him, they took the baby to Cathy's mother as she requested. When they got back, Kate came out of her office.

Kate- Good work Inspectors. Magda can I see you in my office.
Magda- Sure.

They walked into her office. Magda can tell by the look on Kate's face that this was not good.

Kate- Magda...I'm sorry..but I just got a call from Attorney Ellindford.
Magda- That's Frank Malatris's lawyer. Oh no..
Kate- Yes. He is out of prison.

Hey guys. I'm sorry I haven't been keeping this very updated. Had a very hard last 2 weeks. Anyway, here is a little more.

Kate- Magda...I'm sorry..but I just got a call from Attorney Ellindford.
Magda- That's Frank Malatris's lawyer. Oh no..
Kate- Yes. He is out of prison.
Magda- What? How can this be??
Kate- I know. Apparently his lawyer said at the parole hearing that he was devistated about Jinny cheating on him and the judge bought it.
Magda- Jinny didn't cheat on him. She told him it was over.
Kate- I know but no one can prove that and that is what the ADA is counting on. There will still be a trial but for now, there is nothing we can do.
Magda- No. No I won't believe you. I can't believe you.
Kate- I'm sorry Magda.
Magda- Me too.

With that she left Kate's office and grabbed her coat. She passed by Jenny.

Jenny- Magda?

She ignored everyone and walked away. She went home where she spent the whole night in her room. She has been feeling so guilty since it happened. She didn't stop Frank when Jinny was alive and she can't stop him now when she is dead. She spent most of the time crying and again, feeling guilty. Suddenly, a bright light came into the room. There was a woman standing there from what Magda could see. She seemed to be wearing a white silky dress. Magda looked into the light. She had tears coming down her face. Then she realized what the bright light was. It was hard to believe but it was true. It was--Jinny.

Jinny- Mag, I know this may be hard to realize but I have been gone for about 7 months. You have to let go of me.

Jinny- Magda listen to me. I know you don't like to say this but Mag, I'm dead and there is nothing anyone can do to take that back. What happened did happen. You did everything you could. Everyone did everything they could. If anyone did anything wrong, it was me.

Jinny- I was stupid. I didn't listen to you or Kate. I should have. You have no reason to feel guilty. You have to believe that.
Magda- I am trying. Believe me I am. But no matter how hard I try, I still can't understand.
Jinny- I know it will take some time. But promise me you will try harder. I can't stand to see you like this..or Teddy.
Magda- What do you mean?
Jinny- He is in worse shape than you. He hasn't worked since it happened. He can't even walk through The Division doors.
Magda- How is he surviving?
Jinny- His father loaned him some money. His father was the only one that liked me *laughs* so he understands why Teddy is acting this way. Which is why I need you to do me a favor.
Magda- Anything.
Jinny- I need you to go see him. Try and talk to him the way I talked to you today.
Magda- Can't you go and see him too?
Jinny- I can't. I don't know what will happen if he sees me like this. And I can't visit too many people. Everyone will start to think we aren't really dead. That is why I chose to see you. You are strong. I know Kate is upset to but she is holding her own. Teddy is to upset to see me. You are upset but I felt it would be better to see you.
Magda- I wanted to see you too. I just didn't think it was possible.
Jinny- I am always watching you. I will be with you forever. Jenny is a very special partner you will have. Don't punch her nose please?
Magda- *Laughs a little* You always did have that sense of humor.
Jinny- Well I got to go. Remember, try and talk to Teddy. I might be able to visit him soon but not now. Try and tell him what I have told you.

Jinny- Let go. Try to let go of me. I will always be with you but I can't stand to see you and Teddy fall apart over this.

Jinny smiled and Magda smiled back. Jinny faded away. Magda wiped her tears away and grabbed her coat and raced over to Teddy so she would keep her promise.

There was no answer but she heard a TV inside. She knocked on the door even harder and there was still no answer. She twisted the knob. To her surprise, it was unlocked. She walked in and Teddy's apartment was a mess. It looked a lot like Jinny's when she was drinking. There were clothes all over and pizza boxes. There was no real booze around. Just beer. She finally found him in his bedroom. He looked awful and so depressed. He looked like he hadn't shaved in weeks.

Magda- Teddy..
Teddy- Magda? What are you doing here. It's 11:00 at night.
Magda- I needed to see you.
Teddy- I am sorry Magda but I can't talk now. A TV show is coming on.
Magda- You're watching Lifetime?
Teddy-Yeah. They got great shows on here.

Magda sighed and turned off the TV.

Teddy- Hey!! The Golden Girls were coming on!!
Magda- Get hold of yourself. What has happened to you??
Teddy- Nothing. I just changed a little bit.

Teddy got up and opened the door for Magda. Without saying a word, she walked out the door. As soon as he shut the door, she heard Teddy start crying. Meanwhile, Nate called the doctor and was told to bring CD to the hospital. She would meet them there.

Nate- Ok have we got everything?
CD- I think so.
Nate- Ok let's go.
CD- I just have to grab something.

Nate was already walking out the door and didn't hear her. He put the bags in the car and started to drive away. CD walked out the door and noticed what he was doing. She pulled out her cellphone.

Nate- *Answered his cell phone* Basso?
CD- Hi honey.
Nate- Hi sweetie. How ar-- wait a minute..where are you!?!
CD- Well remember when you asked me if we had everything?
Nate- Yeah.
CD- Well you forgot something..
Nate- What?
CD- THE PREGNANT WOMAN!!!!

Nate of course, felt like an ass and went back to pick her up. They got ot the hospital. While CD was being checked out by the doctors, Nate called everyone. First was Kate. Kate was sound asleep and was a little grumpy when her phone rang.

Kate- *Sounding miserable* McCafferty?
Nate- Uh hi Captain.
Kate- Nate Basso..what a pleasant surprise. It's nice to hear from you at 1:00 IN THE MORNING!!!
Nate- I'm sorry but I wanted to tell you CD went into labor. We are at the hospital.
Kate- Oh Nate I'm sorry. It's just early *Giggles* Ok I am on my way over.
Nate- Ok. I gotta call everyone else.
Kate- Nate, go be with CD. I will call them.
Nate- Thanks. I'll see you when you get here.
Kate- Bye.

Nate went back to CD's room.

Nate- How are you doing baby?
CD- Just great! I am here in excrushiating pain and you ask me how I am doing??
Nate- I'm sorry I just--
CD- No I'm sorry honey. I am just in a lot of pain.
Nate- I know. I'm sorry you have to go through this. I just called Kate. She is on her way down and she is calling the others.
CD- I really want Jinny to be here.
Nate- I know sweetie.
CD- *Started to breathe as another contraction came on*

Kate got dressed and when she got in the car, she pulled out her cell phone and started calling people. First she called Magda.

Magda- *Answered her phone* Hello?.. Oh hi Captain... Yeah... Oh my god I am on my way..Ok..Bye.

Kate then called Raina.

Raina- *Answered the phone* Hello?
Kate- Raina, it's me.
Raina- What's up Captain?
Kate- CD's in labor.
Raina- Really?! OOH I am soo excited!!!!
Kate- *Laughs* Calm down. I called Magda and we are both going to the hospital.
Raina- I will be right there.
Kate- Ok bye.

So Kate, Magda, and Raina were all on their way to the hospital, CD and Nate were waiting anxiously for their baby to arrive. Nate was in the waiting room waiting for Kate to arrive. CD wanted Kate to be in there with her. At 1:25AM, Kate was the first to arrive.

Kate- Nate, how is she?
Nate- She is ok. She is 4 cm.
Kate- Why aren't you in there with her?
Nate- I was waiting for you. She wants you to be in there with us.

Nate- Of ocurse. You are like a mother to her.

Kate found CD's room and walked in. She saw CD laying in the bed. The look on CD's face amazed Kate. She smiled soo sweetly at Kate.

CD- Oh I'm glad you're finally here.
Kate- Believe me, I am happier to be here. I am so glad you want me to be here. How are you doing?
CD- Well I am never having kids again. *laughs* Thank god this is almost over!
Kate- Well think about the wonderful life you will have at the end of this.
CD- I just hope I will be a good mother.

Meanwhile, Raina and Magda showed up at the same time.

Nate- She's doing good. She is 4 cm dilated.

Kate touched his shoulder to get his attention. She motioned to him to just ignore it. It was the pain talking. Nate nodded. About 2 more hours later, a nurse came in.

Nurse- How are you doing Candace?
CD- I would be much better if you killed the man who put me in this position!
Nate- *Looked scared but remembered what Kate said before and grinned*
Nurse- *Laughs* *Talks while checking how dilated she is* Well I don't know if we can do that. You are progressing quickly so it looks like it won't be much longer. You are 7cm. Only a little more of this.
CD- Thank God!!!!
Nurse- I will be back in a little bit.

CD took a deep breath as another contraction came on. Kate leaned into her.

Kate- You really wanna have a son named Spyke?
CD- *Talks in between breaths* That's ok..I know it's..going to be a girl.

CD- Oh yeah.

CD said and then she got this look on her face. Nate looked at her. CD was in so much pain and there was nothing he could do about it. Then the doctor came in.

Doctor- Hi CD. How's everything going in here?
CD- Oh please let this be over. I can't stand the pain anymore.

She said that with tears in her eyes. The Doctor looked at the fetal heart monitor.

Doctor- CD, I'm sorry but the baby's heart rate is lower than I would like. We will see if it goes down within the next few minutes.
CD- *Paniced* Is my baby going to be ok??
Doctor- Don't worry. If the heart rate doesn't go down, we will do a c-section. It's going to be ok CD. I promise.
CD- Ok.
Doctor- Alright I'll be back in a few minutes. *Leaves*
CD- Nate, I'm scared.
Nate- I know. It'll be ok. You heard what the doctor said. *Kisses her forehead* It's going to be ok.

With that they wheeled her off to the operating room. Kate went back out to the waiting room while Nate got dressed in scrubs. Magda and Raina got up as they saw Kate approaching. She wasn't smiling but wasn't crying either. They didn't know what was going on.

Magda- Captain, what's going on?
Kate- CD has to have an emergency C-section.
Raina- Oh my god. Is CD ok?
Kate- She's fine. The baby's heart rate was going down so they are going to do a c-section. It is the easiest and safest way.

Magda couldn't help but think about Jinny. First it was her best friend, now her friends baby. She started to get teats in her eyes. Kate put her hand on her shoulder.

Kate- Magda, it's going to be ok.
Magda- I know. I am just being a baby. *Wiped tears*

In the operating room, Nate had just come out of the room where he was getting sterelized and walked over to CD. He grabbed her hand.

Nate- I am here CD. I will not leave your side.
CD- Ok.

Kate- Magda, I know this isn't really the best time but I think we need to talk about this afternoon.
Magda- Oh that.
Kate- His lawyer is one of the best. We are going to need to do an investigation. Now you are too involved in this case..
Magda- Captain, if we need to do this investigation, don't tell me I can't--
Kate- Actually, I want you and Jenny leading it. I know I am not supposed to but you are one of my best Inspectors.
Magda- Thanks Captain. I want to nail this bastard.
Kate- And we will.

In the operating room, Nate sat there hoding CD's hand as she slept while they were cutting her open. Nate stared at her, daydreaming about what their life will be like when they have their baby. As Nate was coming out of it, he heard a baby's cry.

Doctor- It's a girl.
Nate- Oh my God. *Looked at CD* We have a girl honey. How is she?
Doctor- She looks just fine. Would you like to cut the cord?
Nate- I would love to!

He walked over to his daughter. He took the scissors and cut his daughter's umbilical cord. She was cleaned up, weighed, and taken to the nursery. Nate sat back down next to CD. He felt like everything was perfect..until now.

Nurse- Doctor, she is bleeding out.

Nate overheard this and got very worried.

Nate- What? What's going on?
Doctor- Nate there is a little problem with CD. She is bleeding more than she is supposed to. We may have to do a histerectomy.
Nate- What? No. You can't.
Doctor- We may have no choice.
Nate- There has to be another option.
Doctor- Yes. Loosing CD.

Nate- We almost lost her. She started bleeding a lot and they wanted to do a histerectomy.
Magda- Oh no.
Nate- She's ok. They were able to stop the bleeding and she still has her uterus.

Nate- Well I am going to go back to her. I will let you know when she can have visitors so you can see the baby.

They nodded and left for home. CD was still asleep in her room. Nate sat in a rocking chair next to her bed. CD's eyes flickered open. She was very sore but all the pain went away as she saw what was in front of her. Nate was rocking in the chair with a little girl wrapped in a pink blanket with bright blue eyes and a pink bow in her hair. Nate was singing to her..

Nate- Hush little baby, don't say a word. Daddy's gonna buy you a mocking bird. If that mocking bird don't sing, Daddy's gonna buy her a diamond ring..

CD- *Smiles* *Weakly*You're buying her rings already?
Nate looked up at CD, startled but so happy she is finally awake.
Nate- Well I need to be the best Daddy ever! Hey honey. How are you feeling?
CD- Sore *Giggles*
Nate- I'm not surprised. You gave us quite a scare. I am guessing you would like to hold your child? *BIG smile*

He handed his little girl to his mommy. She excitedly took her daughter into her arms. She looked at her daughter.

CD- She is so beautiful.
Nate- Of course. She looks just like you.
CD- What happened in there?
Nate- You were losing a lot of blood. They were going to do a histerectomy.

Kate looked at CD for approval. CD laughed.

Kate- Be careful *Smiled* *Handed Lyla to Raina*

2 days later, CD and Lyla were released from the hospital. They were home and Nate was with them. One night, Lyla was crying and CD was trying to calm her. CD was panicing.

CD- I don't know what she wants. I rocked her, fed her, burped her, changed her,--
Nate- Babies just cry CD. It's ok. *Walked over to CD and Lyla* Here come to Daddy.

Nate picked up Lyla and held her. After a few minutes, Lyla stopped crying. CD felt kinda hurt.

CD- She likes you better than me.
Nate- What? No she doesn't. She just didn't feel like crying anymore and got tired out. Don't think like that CD.
CD- It's true! She doesn't love me!
Nate- Yes she does CD.
CD- I'm going to lie down. You seem to have things UNDER CONTROL! *Left for her bedroom*

Nate sighed. He thought this just might be a bad night for her and she will be alright in the morning. It was 2:30 AM when Lyla started crying again. Usually CD went to go get her but she didn't even move when Lyla cried. Nate got worried.

Nate- CD, don't you want to go see how Lyla is doing?
CD- What's the point? She'll cry until you hold her.

Nate was too tired to argue and went to Lyla's room and fed her. The next morning was busy at the Division. Magda and Jenny were working on Jinny's case.

Magda- You sure you are ok with this?
Jenny- Of course. Why?
Magda- Well I know it feels kind of weird working with me on the death of my partner.
Jenny- I understand and with the way everyone is reacting to it, it seems she was a great person and I want us to catch the bastard that did this to her.
Magda- *Smiled* You know, you remind me a lot of her.
Jenny- Really?
Magda- Yeah. She was always out to do good and she was a hell of a good partner..like you.
Jenny- I guess that's good. You won't punch me! *Laughs and walked over to the filing cabinet*
Magda- *Whispers to herself* And her sense of humor. *Smiles*

Kate then walked out of her office.

Kate- Magda, Jenny, my office. They both walked into Kate's office and sat down.

Kate- We have a little problem. There's no way we can prove Jinny wasn't cheating on Frank.
Magda- Well what proof do they have that she did.
Kate- Well number one, she was with a lot of guys when she was drinking. They want to use that.
Magda- Oh my god..
Kate- And they want to put Teddy on the stand since Jinny cheated on Teddy when they were going together.
Magda- But all that's back when she was drinking. She was sober! She didn't cheat.
Kate- Magda, I hear you but we can't prove she wasn't drinking.
Magda- That son of a bitch!
Kate- We're just going to keep trying. Have you been able to contact the other women he has beaten up?
Magda- No not yet.
Kate- Well I called Teddy down here to talk to him. He should be here any minute. He sounded awful.
Magda- I went to see him the other night..Jin--I heard he was in bad shape so I went to see him.

Kate was curious as to why Magda said Jin but she wasn't going to get into that. Just then there was a knock on the door. It was Teddy.

Teddy- Captain McCafferty.
Kate- Theodore. How are you?
Teddy- Getting there. What's up?
Kate- Well the defense attorney has gotten Frank Malatris out of jail. They want to put you on the stand because Jinny cheated on you when you two were going together. They had him released because he said he said he killed Jinny because she cheated on him. We know she didn't but we can't prove it. Can you help us?
Teddy- I am not going to get involved in this! I'm sorry but I can't help you.

Teddy stormed out of the office. Magda and Kate were stunned. They never saw Teddy act like that before.

Magda- Teddy, what are you doing?
Teddy- Well I am either being depressed or getting drunk. Take your pick.
Magda- Come on Teddy. Let's get out of here. You don't belong here.
Teddy- YES I DO! I don't want to work. I don't want to go home. Everywhere I go reminds me of her. Especially this bar..but Jinny came here to forget her troubles. So I am doing the same.
Magda- And do you remember where that got her? It got her suspended. It was for the best but if it wasn't for this bar, she wouldn't have been suspended in the first place. Jinny made the mistake and she paid her dues. You don't need to be here. Come on let's go back to The Division and talk to Captain. I'll be there with you. It's going to be ok.
Teddy- No! I told you, I don't want to do this. I can't. I got to go.

Teddy left the bar as Magda stood there. She didn't know what she was going to do next. At CD's place, Nate decided to stay home one more day because CD was still acting funny. That day, she stayed in bed. She didn't even hold Lyla. She just lied there crying all day. It was 1:30PM and Nate didn't know what he was going to do. He made a phone call. Nate pulled out his cell phone and dialed.

Nate- Hi it's Nate..I'm fine..She's fine..No CD isn't so great..I need your help..I think she's going through that..um..postpartum depression thing..yeah...can you?...oh great..7 o'clock is fine..we'll be here..thanks. *Hung up* Thank god!

Magda decided she was not going to talk to Teddy until tonight. She was going to go by his apartment again. It was 6:45PM and there was a knock on CD's door. CD was still lying in bed. When Nate heard the knock, he was on the couch feeding Lyla. He was happy when he heard the knock because he knew the person at the door could talk some sense into CD. He got up and opened the door with Lyla and a bottle in his other arm.

Nate- Oh Captain thank god you're here!
Kate- Nate, what's going on? Hi Lyla! Let me have her. *Nate handed Lyla to Kate* Hi sweetie. How are you? I'm your grandma Kate. Yes.
Nate- Ok CD won't hold the baby, she won't feed the baby, change the baby, she won't even look at the baby.
Kate- Ok let me and Lyla go talk to her. You stay out here ok?
Nate- Ok if you think it will work..

Kate went into CD's bedroom to find her laying down watching TV. Kate didn't show it, but she was extremely worried about this..and confused at the same time. At the hospital, CD seemed to want the baby so much. Now CD was acting like she didn't have a baby. Kate knew at that time, she had to do something.

Kate- Knock knock.
CD- *Looked up* Oh hi Cap. Come on in.
Kate- I found this little baby out in the living room. She looks like she needs her momma.
CD- What would she need me for?
Kate- CD..
CD- Look, I'm sorry..but when I pick her up she keeps crying. When Nate does, she stops. She doesn't like me.
Kate- CD, babies cry. They don't mean to do it..it's just what they do. Maybe at that moment, Nate did comfort her but now she needs you. Look at her..she wants her mother. She want you.
CD- I need to get some rest now. Thanks for coming.
Kate- CD..Na--
CD- Goodnight Captain.

Kate walked out of the bedroom with a sad confused look on her face. Nate knew it hadn't gone well.

While Kate was telling Nate her idea, Magda kept calling Teddy's house but no luck. Then she got a phone call.

Officer- Hey we got a call from a woman. She said there is a man sitting outside her apartment and won't leave.
Magda- Why are you calling me about this?
Officer- Well it's Inspector Exstead's old apartment.
Magda- What? Damnit Teddy. I'll be right there.

She quickly grabbed her coat and ran out the door. It's now 8:15PM and Nate went into CD's room.

Nate- Sweetie, they need me to go to the station to wrap up an old case of mine.
CD- What case?
Nate- The uh..Friedman case.
CD- I don't remember that one.
Nate- It's an old one from my old station. I will be back soon.
CD- Wait you're leaving me here alone with Lyla?
Nate- Well I can't take her to the station.
CD- But I bet everyone would love to see her. I mean..--
Nate- I won't be gone long. Surely you can handle her.

Nate left the apartment. Kate was waiting outside for him. They both started talking in a whisper. Meanwhile, Magda went down to the apartment building and found Teddt sitting outside the door in handcuffs.

Magda- I got the call. Ma'am, are you pressing charges.
Woman- Ok I won't but get him off my property!
Magda- We will Ma'am. Thank you. Come on Teddy.
Teddy- No.

Teddy got up and Magda escorted him out. CD was lying in her bed when she heard a banging noise. She got up and looked around. No one was there. Lyla started crying. CD looked up and saw shadows outside the windows. CD quickly went to the phone and called the police.

CD- *Dials 911* Hello this is Inspector DeLorenzo. There is an intruder outside my apartment. I am alone with my daughter. I need someone over here NOW! *Hung up*

She went over to Lyla who was still crying and picked her up.

CD- It's ok sweetie. I'm not going to let anyone hurt you. No one is going to hurt my baby.

Lyla looked up at her mother and just smiled. CD felt so grateful that her baby was ok. Then there was a knock on the door.

CD- Who is it?
Police- SFPD.
CD- I'm coming.

CD walked over to the door with Lyla in her arms. She opened the door.

Police- We got the man you called about Inspector.
CD- Thank you very much.
Police- One thing though. He asked to speak with you.
CD- Well..alright.

The police pulled the man in front of CD.

CD- Oh my god..Nate?!?

Magda and Teddy sat outside in her car.
Magda- Teddy, what the hell is going on with you?
Teddy- Nothing why do you ask??
Magda- Cut the bull**** Teddy. What were you doing at Jinny's apartment?
Teddy- I was going to my place and took a wrong turn..
Magda- Teddy just STOP IT!

Teddy couldn't help himself. He broke down into tears.

Magda- Teddy, you can cry and watch tv all you want..be depressed all you want..it isn't going to bring Jinny back.
Teddy- I just want her back so much!
Magda- Well we can't get her back. But we can help her! We can put her killer behind bars for the rest of his life..but we need your help.

The next morning, Magda came in with Teddy and they went straight into Captain's office.

Kate- Hi Magda. Teddy, I'm glad you're back.
Teddy- I want to help you. I will do everything I can to put that SOB behind bars!

Magda- We have Frank and his attorney coming in at 12.
Kate- I don't think that's a good idea.

Just then, Nate walked into the Division. With him was CD and Lyla stopping in to pay a visit.

Nate- Hey everyone, come look at my beautiful daughter!

As CD was about to walk into the office, she could hear their conversation.

CD heard enough. She grabbed the baby, put her in her carseat, and left the station.

Jenny- You mean the bastard who..
Magda- Yes. We have a few questions for him. One thing though. I can't go in there. I'll kill him if I do.

Kate- Yes. There is going to be a trial in 3 weeks. Frank and his lawyer are coming here in 1 week to discuss it and try to do a plea bargain.
Teddy- Oh no. You--
Kate- No we aren't doing a plea bargain. We're going right to court. I need to find a male judge though. We can't test him doing the judge in again.
Teddy- What do you mean?
Kate- I shouldn't be telling you this but it seems one of his other girlfriends was murdered. The charges were dropped. I think it was because he said or did something to the judge. I'm trying to locate her now. Best be on the safe side and get a male judge.

A week went by and they didn't get any farther. Today though was the week that Frank and his lawyer, Attorney Ellindford were coming in and the day CD was coming back to work. At CD's place..

CD- Oh Nate I don't wanna leave her.

CD- But what if she get sick or gets hungry or--
Nate- Do you want to take her with you?
CD- No! All those germs and those convicts touching her? She's okay for visits but she can't be there all day with me.
Nate- Then we got to let the babysitter take care of her today.

There was a knock on the door. It was the babysitter.

Anne- Hi. I'm here.
Nate- Good we're all set. You know where the diapers, bottles, and food are. Feel free to anything we have in the fridge.
CD- If there are any problems, call us right away.
Anne- We will. *Picks up Lyla* We'll have a good time.

It was now 1:00PM and Teddy walked into the station. Captain saw him come in and knew this was a very bad time for him to be here seeing as Frank was going to be there any minute! She had to get him out of there and fast.

Kate- Teddy, what are you doing here?
Teddy- I just came to see how things were going on the case and to know if there was anything else I could do. The trial is in 2 weeks and I am jumping out of my skin. I want to help. I made a promise.
Kate- Believe me Teddy you are helping. Just by testifying against him is helping us. We've got everything else under control.
Teddy- Well..if you're sure.
Kate- I'm sure. Just concentrate on the trial.
Teddy- Ok. Thanks Kate.
Kate- Bye Teddy.

CD- We're not making any deals with you..and we'd also feel we should inform you that Theodore Blumenthal will not be testifying for you.
Mr. E- Now wait a minute--
Magda- He will answer questions on the witness stand truthfully of course but he will not be testifying for you.
CD- We have many witnesses that can testify under oath that Jinny was not having any affairs when she was married to your client. I don't know what case you think you have.
Frank- Oh I have a case. She disrespected me. Any lawful judge will see that.
Kate- *Walks in* Mr. Ellindford..
Mr. E- Captain McCafferty. Your Inspectors seem to have quite a bit of an attitude problem.
Kate- I don't think so. They are just confident. *Get in Frank's face* Anyone who thinks they can kill one of my Inspectors and get away with it, is gonna fry.

Kate- No Counsel it's a promise.
Mr. E- We came here on a friendly call and we seem to be getting no where. Let's go Frank.

Later on in the afternoon, Teddy of course felt terrible for what had happened earlier and went back to the station to personally apologize to Kate for what he did.

Teddy- Captain.
Kate- Teddy, I wasn't expecting you.
Teddy- I had to come here in person and say how sorry I was for what happened before with..
Kate- It's alright. I know he provoked you. And I don't think it hurt our case in anyway. I think we got him.
Teddy- Good. Well I'd better get going. I got more cases.
Kate- I'm glad you're back to work. Jinny would be happy. Teddy- I know. That's why I'm doing in. *Smiles*

As Teddy walked out, he saw a woman standing by the door with dark hair. From the back, you could swear it was Jinny! He walked up to her and then she turned around.

Jenny- Can I help you?
Teddy- Oh. No I'm sorry. I thought you were someone else. Jenny- That's ok. I'm Jenny Schroller, an Inspector here.
Teddy- I'm ADA Teddy Blumenthal.
Jenny- Oh a lawyer. You got a case here?
Teddy- Unfortunately. Inspector Exstead's murder.
Jenny- I'm working that one as well. That was a damn shame. I heard she was a great cop.
Teddy- The best. I have to run. Maybe I'll see you around sometime.
Jenny- Maybe. Nice talking to you.

Teddy left and Magda walked up to Jenny.

Magda- I see you met our ADA.
Jenny- Yeah. He seems real nice.
Magda- He is. He's just down though. He'll be beter once this trial is all over.
Jenny- What do you mean?
Magda- He used to date Jinny. He really loved her. *left*

Jenny realized and just sighed. CD ran over to her desk and picked up the phone but Nate slammed it back down.

CD- What are you doing?
Nate- CD, you just called the babysitter 5 minutes ago! Lyla is sleeping. What if you wake her up?
CD- What makes you think I am calling the babysitter?
Nate- You are, aren't you?
CD- Of course but you aren't supposed to know.
Nate- Come on, let's go get some coffee.
CD- But what if she needs me Nate. This day is killing me.
Nate- How about tomorrow we bring her in and we just see how it goes. It's got to be better than today.
CD- Alright. Obviously you can't stand being without her either!! *Smirks*
Nate- *Rolls eyes*

Kate came out of her office to see the progress they were making on the case.

Kate- Ok what have we got.
Magda- I'm going go to see Teddy and make sure he is all prepared for court.
CD- Captain, who is going handling the case? Teddy can't do it.

Allen O'Connor walked into the room.

Allen- I am.
Kate- I have called Mr. O'Connor to handle it.
Allen- Do you know how many times Inspector Exstead has called me an SOB behind my back? I would be honored to do this for her.
Kate- Good. If you would come with me, I will go over everything with you. Everyone else, back to work.

Kate and Allen went into her office while everyone else gossiped.

Raina- Who is that guy?
CD- That ADA O'Connor.
Magda- I thought he was loooong gone..
CD- Me too.
Nate- What's the big deal about him?
CD- Well he..*Realized Raina was in the room*..we'll talk later.
Jenny- Well I have a doctor's appointment so I have to go for a bit.
Magda- Are you ok?
Jenny- Oh yeah just a check up. I had a transplant last year and they need to make sure everything is ok.
CD- What kind of transplant?
Jenny- Heart.

The night before the trial, everyone was a mess. Kate, Magda, and Teddy couldn't sleep a wink. Neither could CD and Nate but that was mainly because of Lyla. Jinny's family was having a tough time too because they are all being called to testify. They all wanted to see him fry. Teddy couldn't take it anymore. He got out of bed, put on some clothes and left his apartment. He didn't come back for a few hours. The next morning, ADA O'Connor was all ready to go.

Allen- So are we all clear on how everything goes?
Kate- Allen, do you have any idea how many times we have had to testify for our jobs? *Laughs*
Allen- Okay just making sure. We just need to wait for ADA Blumenthol and we will be all set.
Magda- I noticed Frank the Scank isnt here either.
Kate- Oh he will be. Is John her brothers ready to go?
CD- Yeah I checked on them. They're a little nervous but should be good.
Allen- Great.

Just then, Teddy came into the door. He looked like he had a little too much to drink the night before. Magda could see it in him. Luckily no one else could.

Allen- Teddy, you're here finally. Okay we're all set.

Mr. Ellindford walked over to them, just putting away his cell phone.

Mr. E- Well I hope you're happy Kate.
Kate- Excuse me?
Mr. E- How'd you do it? Did you have one of your inspectors do it?
Kate- Whoa..
Mr. E- He didn't do anything wrong and I was going to prove it if you had given me a chance..

Mr. Ellindford left the courthouse. They explained what happened to the judge and he just got up to go to his next case.

Kate- Guys this complicates things.
Magda- What do you mean? It's not like one of us killed him.
Kate- Never the less, we'll need to make a list of everything we did last night as soon as the autopsy establishes a time of death. We need alibis. Mr. Ellindford knows how much we hated him, especially you and Teddy.
Magda- Wait, you don't think they will actually charge me with something just for hating him.
Kate- You never know. Make that list! You work with Teddy also. Have him especially make one. We need to be prepared.
Magda- You got it. You'd better explain things to Jinny's family. They're pretty shocked.

Kate nodded and went over to them. Shocked wasn't even the word for them. They have been through so much and now this. They just wanted to go home. Magda took Teddy aside and talked to him.

Magda- So you know what happened. Teddy, we're in a little bit of trouble. The Captain thinks we should go back to the Division and make a list of everything we did last night.
Teddy- What for?
Magda- Well they think one of us did it.
Teddy- What? That's crazy!!
Magda- Well never the less, let's get back to the station. You need a ride?
Teddy- No I have my car. I'll meet you there.
Magda- Okay. See ya there.

Magda couldn't shake the feeling like he was hiding something. She figured she would just talk to him there. Everyone headed back to the station. Teddy showed up not long after.

Magda- Okay Teddy, we should probably start from 8PM.
Teddy- 8PM I was having dinner with a client. He needed to talk. After that, it was maybe 10:15PM. I headed home. I went to bed, but I tossed and turned so I got dressed and left. That was maybe 12:00AM.
Magda- And where did you go.

Teddy didn't speak which worried Magda. Teddy got a look on his face.

Magda- Start explaining Teddy.

Magda- Eww I'd hate to do that autopsy.
Kate- Well we questioned him. We can't arrest him until we can link him to Frank last night..but the odds don't look good. We need to get his gun checked for
prints.
Magda- Way ahead of you.
Kate- Good. I have to say if he did do it, I don't think they will be too hard on him. Him being an ADA and seeing as what Frank did to him..
Magda- Cross your fingers.

Magda left her office. She was about to leave when Kate rushed out of her office.

Meanwhile, Teddy was at his apartment slugging down a few beers. He was sure that they would find something against him and have him charged with murder. He
wasn't even sure he hadn't done it. He had no idea where he went that night and he HATED Frank. Who could blame him but that's not the point. He could've
commited murder. Just then he heard a knock on his door. He got up and very wobbly walked over to the door. He figured it was Magda since she had told him
he would be by to check on him. He looked through the peekhole and saw a man with a gray jumpsuit on and a baseball cap.

Teddy- Who is it?
Man- Delivery for a Theodore Blumenthal.

Teddy didn't know what it was but he opened the door anyway.

Teddy- Yes I'm Theodore.
Man- Here's your package. I'll need your signature right here.
Teddy- Ok.

He grabbed the pen and tried to write his name but he couldn't. Instead he signed it Theo Blumen.

Teddy- Is that good enough.
Man- Too much to drink?
Teddy- OH yeah.

Just then, Teddy noticed some blood coming through his clothing.

Teddy- Hey man you're bleeding.
Man- Oh shoot! I was trying to open a package earlier and must have cut myself. Can I use your bathroom?
Teddy- Sure come on in. The place is a little messy but--

As soon as he closed the door, the delivery man put his hand over Teddy's mouth and held a gun to his head. He whispered into Teddy's ear..

Man- This is your worst nightmare. I'll take care of you like I took care of her.

Magda- *Called his cell* No answer there either. He never turns that thing off. I'm really worried.

Magda and Kate were speeding over there as fast as they could. Kate called for back up, just like last time. Meanwhile, Frank sat Teddy on the couch cause he
couldn't stand himself.

Teddy- You're supposed to be dead.
Frank- That's what I wanted you all to think. So you wouldn't be worried if a strange delivery guy showed up at your door.
Teddy- My god that's an awful thing to do.
Frank- Everything I do is awful but at least I'm not the only one commiting sins here. You had an affair with my wife.
Teddy- What will it take to convince you that I didn't sleep with Jinny while you two were married. I swear I didn't.
Frank- You think I'm gonna believe you..cute.
Teddy- *Thinks* 'I'm a dead man'.

Magda and Kate finally arrived. They ran up and knocked on his apartment door. He screamed trying ot let whoever was at the door that something was up. Frank hit him with his gun after that. Then he held it up to his head.

Frank- You keep your damn mouth shut. You know I have killed people before so I would have no problem killing you. Let them go away.

Magda- Teddy? Are you there? We heard a scream we know someone is in there.

Frank- Go away or I blow his head off! Leave the building!

Magda- Oh god. *Looked at Kate*
Kate- Frank? This is the Captain of the SFPD. We can try and negotiate..

Frank- *Shoots into the air* Negotiate that! Now get out of the building NOW!

They walked out of the apartment building and Magda was in a panic.

Magda- Oh my gosh! I can't lose another friend to that man Captain I can't!
Kate- Magda calm down. I'm going to call every cop on the force to get their asses out here!

Teddy- Why are you doing this to me? Why now?
Frank- I told you already.
Teddy- But that was a year ago.

Teddy- Oh my god that right. Jinny didn't die till the next day though.
Frank- Well if it will make you feel any better, I won't kill you till midnight so you'll have the same anniversary. *Laughs*

Frank got mad and walked over to him pointing the gun to his head.

Frank- What did you call me?
Teddy- Nothing.
Frank- That's better.

Everyone outside was waiting. There was nothing they can really do. Lots of people from the SFPD came, including CD and Nate.

Kate- Hey guys. Where's Lyla? You didn't have to come.
CD- She's at home with the babysitter.
Nate- How could we not come. We heard about Frank.
Magda- I should have shot that bastard when I had the chance.
Kate- Magda..

Frank- Well it's 11:15..you got 45 minutes buddy.
Teddy- You don't call me buddy or I'll call you jackass.
Frank- Oooh are we getting a little testy?
Teddy- Just a tad when someone is about to kill me! But you know I'm not a woman. I'm not gonna cry and beg for my life. I would never beg to a lowdown jerk

Inside Teddy's apartment, the phone rings. Frank motioned for Teddy to stay on the couch and if he moved, he was dead. Frank answered the phone.

Frank- Teddy the wife stealer's apartment.
Kate- Frank, this is Captain Kate McCafferty.
Frank- Ahh I remember you.
Kate- Frank you got to let him go. He's an ADA you'll get the death penalty.
Frank- Doesn't matter anyway. Don't call again.

Frank slammed the phone down. Kate got worried by his last sentence.

Frank still paced back and forth and wanted to wait until midnight to kill Teddy. He knew no one would have the guts to try and stop him. They didn't last time.
He was kind of nervous though. Something didn't feel right. He felt he was being watched. Then the phone rang. It was Kate calling Teddy's apartment.

Frank- What do you want now?
Kate- We need to talk some more Frank.
Frank- I don't think we have anything to talk about.

Frank walked away from the window and all of a sudden, Teddy saw Magda's head appear from the window. She saw Teddy and motioned to him to stay quiet.
Teddy did so. Magda then pulled out a gun. She aimed it right at Frank's head. She knew she had to get a perfect shot in order to make sure he wouldn't hurt
Teddy incase she missed. While he was on the phone, she aimed some more, to the perfect spot. And then pulled the trigger.

knew then it was all over. She rushed over to Teddy to see if he was alright.

Magda- Teddy, are you okay?
Teddy- Yeah I'm fine.
Magda- It was all a game..
Teddy- I know. He told me he did it to get to me.
Magda- It's over now.

Magda called in the paramedics. They checked for a pulse but couldn't get one. Magda escorted Teddy outside. They were both shaken up but Kate
congratulated them. Teddy was especially happy. They put Jinny's killer away for good, he would never hurt anyone else. The night was long. Teddy could barely sleep. He stayed at Magda's house since the police were still at his apartment. Magda came out and found him awake.

Magda- I had a feeling you were up.
Teddy- Well anyone who had a night like that would have trouble sleeping.
Magda- I could imagine. *Sat next to him* You did good.
Teddy- You too. I could never repay you for saving my life. He was going to kill me.
Magda- I know he was..but we were too quick for him. *Smiles*

Then they saw a light. It was the same light they had seen before when Jinny appeared to them.

Teddy- What is that light?
Magda- I think it's..

Jinny appeared to them wearing that silky white dress, looking as pretty as ever according to Teddy. She had that sweet smile on her face.

Teddy- Jinny you're back.
Jinny- I can only stay for a little while. I'm afraid this is the last time I can appear to you.
Magda- Why?
Jinny- You two caught him. You don't need my help anymore. I don't know how to thank you. I knew the two of you could do it.
Magda- What else could we do. We made a promise.
Jinny- Teddy, you were in a dangerous situation and you did it for me. And Magda, you risked your own life to save him.
Teddy- I promised you we'd get him.
Jinny- I have to go. Just know the two of you that I am with you always.
Teddy- Don't go Jinny please. Not again.
Jinny- I won't really be gone Teddy. But I need you to know something.
Teddy- Anything.
Jinny- Don't be afraid to love someone else again. I'll always know I was your first true love, but I can't go on watching you watch Lifetime all day. You need to love again.
Teddy- How can I?
Jinny- I trust you. You can do it. And Magda, you need you not to be afraid to be as close to another partner.
Magda- I will try Jinny. It's not easy.
Jinny- I know. I love you both very much.
Teddy- We love you Jinny.
Magda- Goodbye Jin.

With that, Jinny disappeared. Magda and Teddy looked at each other and smiled. The next morning, everyone was in a better mood. They haven't been that happy since Jinny died.

Magda- Morning Captain.
Kate- Good morning Inspector. Get any sleep last night?
Magda- Not really.
Kate- Well it's going to be a busy day.
Magda- Good.

Then CD and Nate walked in. They had Lyla with them since having her there at all times was very important to CD. Kate didn't mind.

Kate- Morning you too. And how's that little angel?
Nate- Kept us up all night.
CD- She's wonderful.
Nate- She sure is.
Kate- *Smiled*

Jenny was the last one to come in.

Jenny- Hey I heard about all the action last night. Was anyone hurt?
Magda- Frank's dead..for real this time. Just incase, they're doing an autopsy. *Giggles*
Jenny- Good! *Laughed* How's Teddy doing?
Magda- He was shaken up last night but we had a talk and he's much better this morning.

Teddy walked in. He was out getting everyone coffee to thank them for the great job they did.

Teddy- I come with coffee!
CD- You couldn't get donuts too?
Teddy- Don't push your luck. *Winked at CD*
CD- Okay okay.
Jenny- Hey Teddy. You doing okay?
Teddy- I am great.
Jenny- That's good. Look listen, I was probably too chicken before and with the case going on I didn't want to intrude..*Interrupted by Teddy*
Teddy- Actually Jenny, I wanted to know if you would go out with me tonight.
Jenny- Really? You'll go out with me?
Teddy- Of course. Pick you up at 7?
Jenny- I'll be ready. Thanks.
Teddy- No thank you.
Magda- *Smiled* And Jenny, I'm sorry if I haven't really been including you.
Jenny- Are you kidding Magda? You've been great.
Magda- Well I would like us to be great partners.
Jenny- To me we already are..but that doesn't mean we can't be closer. *Smiled* Thank you Magda.

With that, all of the inspectors got back to work and a woman in a silky white dress, smiled and disappeared into the light, once again.
