View Full Version : I don't get...
Kazza 03-20-2004, 02:52 PM Why would you attend a concert several times to witness the same thing over and over? I go to this other board that it seems like a competition on the number of concerts you can attend and THEN they have the nerve to complain about how much money they spent.
MandieR1980 03-20-2004, 02:54 PM Because sometimes they do different songs and they are so awesome you gotta see them more than once. My cousin has been to 5 Matchbox Twenty concerts.

In this case that doesnt apply; they name the tour and schedule the songs based on that.
Probably they have a lot of $$$ to burn; and if they do then why you complain afterwards?
My roommate will see multiple shows of one of his favorite bands when they come to NYC. Another friend of ours who lives in Vermont will travel all over the northeast to "follow" a band around when they tour.
Like Mandie said, sometimes they will change thier song lists. Hardcore fans of a band love comparing set lists from a series of shows.
I've never been that much of a music fan, so I will only see a group perform once when they do a show in NYC.
~*Dailey'sGurl*~ 03-20-2004, 03:12 PM I've been seeing DL&Q concerts since I was 2 and I never get tired of seeing them! I see them 5 times last year... March, 2 times in May(one weekend then the VERY NEXT weekend), July, & October. They are so great that it never gets old. You can tell a good band from a bad band... a GOOD band never gets old.
Kazza 03-20-2004, 03:14 PM With a rock and roll band I understand but this is a children's group. Does that mean that they can drive mom's as crazy as The Beatles did one time? And why complain if you are having fun?

Who exactly are you calling a "children's group" may I ask?

No one said anything about them, did they? Or did I miss it?
I thought you were calling DL&Q a children's group because I have been seeing them since I was 2. THEY ARE NOT A CHILDREN'S GROUP!!!!!!!!!! DL&Q is a group of 5 devout Christians. Doyle Lawson, Jamie Dailey, Barry Scott, Jesse Stockman, and Terry Baucom are 5 of the finest people I have ever met and probably ever will meet for that matter.

I don't even know who DL&Q are! and have nothing against them or any group. I was just referencing The Wiggles;)

Sorry... I'm really bad to get on my soap box :soapbox:
DL&Q are a fine group. It's a shame you don't know who they are. One question, why were you refering the Wiggles when no one mentioned them?

Because I was the one that started the thread without mentioning names in the first place

You have a point. Please forgive me.... I hope I didn't come across as rude. If I did, I'm sorry.

I will, You didn't, OK:D
Hollow 03-20-2004, 04:44 PM because it's exciting. i am so gonna see metallica when they come back to tuscon/phoenix and get floor tickets.
passionsfan79 03-20-2004, 04:56 PM yea they do differnt songs ive seen the beach boys 4 times and played some different ones. ill also be seen them again in august for my 5th time. i also saw kenny chesney twice and brian wilson twice, john michael montgomery twice as well and they all do different songs and stuff.
Lodee 03-20-2004, 05:39 PM And it's kind of along the same lines of listening to a song or watching a movie over and over. We used to go see AC/DC all the time back in the late 80's- early 90's and it was just as exciting every time. I wouldn't complain about the money though, that's kind of odd! Are these grrown-ups going to these wiggles concerts? ( I hope they at least have kids. )
PZelda 03-20-2004, 05:45 PM This isn't really concert-related, but I went to one of Vicki Lawrence's shows when she performed in the town I used to live in...That was on May 9, 2003. I'll be seeing her again - twice - on October 7 and 8, 2004. It's only been barely a year since I saw her, and already I heard she's changed part of her routine...So when I go to see her this fall, her show will be different from the one I saw. I'm excited - I can't wait! :D
AllIWantIsYourClutch 03-20-2004, 05:56 PM There's a HUGE difference between seeing your favorite band live and just listening to the cd. I've seen Evanescence twice, and was disappointed when I couldn't go to the concert for the third time the next day.

There are just some musical acts that you just love sooo much that seeing them once is not enough. There are a few groups that I've seen quite a few times, even on the same tour and I never complained about how much I spent on my tickets. If I thought they were a little too pricey, I wouldn't have seen that act as many times as I have. I don't do much anyway, concerts are one of the few things that I do, so spending my money to see somebody live usually is no problem.

My sentiments exactly. I don't do much, either...So to go to something as special as a live show is really neat, and I don't mind spending the $ for it. :)
