Who here likes Top Ramen? I've been calling it "oodles and noodles" for years. You know, that 3 minute soup that comes packaged in the big square cubes of squiggly noodes that you have to crush up? They come in various flavors, such as chicken, beef, creamy chicken, salmon, etc.

Despite how crappy the soup is, I really love it. It's not the best food in the entire world, but I really like it for some odd reason. As a matter of fact I'm cooking some chicken oodles and noodles right now.

Who likes it? Who hates it?

Top Ramen's the best. Summer of '00 I had that EVERY SINGLE WEEKDAY. It was insane. My favs. were Oriental, Creamy Chicken, and Roasted Chicken. :liplick: Sometimes Id like it creamy, so I'd add mayo.:o

I hear you.

I used to add a side of fried potatoes ,a good medium rare steak, a salad, and a box of Twinkies to my Ramen. But I had to cut back, so I got rid of the salad.

It's OK, gotta be the cheapest food you can make.

I used to eat it sometimes when I was a youngin'. My mum would actually take out the liquid, and it wasn't until years later that I found out, it originally comes with broth! Guess I never watched her make it. I never eat it at home anymore. I am far too picky--I don't think of it as "real food" (it's a snack!)* JK.

Seriously though, it's not bad, I ate a ton of it at my friend's, but they lack food and I was starving.

*Incase you didn't read the ritz cracker thread, Sitcom Analyzer said Ritz were "a snack" not "a food."

Its not soup. Its noodles. If you end up with soup, then you are adding too much water. And Your not suppose to break them up.

I prefer the chili flavor. I add ground beef, hot sauce and salt.

Have anyone read the label on the salt content part? It feels like eating something right out of the ocean!

My roommate lived on those when he was in college. For years he kept a stash of them in the kitchen, but after a few years, I told him to get rid of them.

They must have an expiration date, right?

The food of poor college students. :D When I was living in a dorm, I occasionally bought the ones that come in the styrofoam cup. Had peas and carrots in it.

My sister is saying it's cup-o-noodles--the styrofoam ones with Romen noodles. Those are far better to me than Top Romen. I remember there was this short lived style that would have the romen noodles and additional circular noodles that looked like sunshines. They were the greatest.

I've never tried them and I probably never will. They say that's one of the worst things you can eat. My diet is bad enough as it is without adding all that sodium.

I think Top Ramen and Maruachan Ramen [or however the hell you spell that] are both the same.

Ramen IS soup. A lot of people drain the broth out of it though. I always used to do that but not anymore. Now I just leave a bit of broth in it. Tastes so much better.

You all mentioned the cup of noodles: Damn, love those. They are wonderful and much better than Ramen. I lived off of those for a good 2 years.

Ramen just isn't as good to me as it used to be. I still eat it, but I think I've lost the taste for it. I don't really enjoy it but hey, it's really cheap: 4 packages for $1.00. You buy what you can get.

We just had a discussion about these at school the other day. Some kid brought a bowl for lunch. I have to say they looked pretty good, but what doesn't compared to our nasty ol' lunch room food? I have ate them a couple of times, but its not something I would be able to eat more than once or twice a year...I guess if I had to I would.:o

You Think YOUR school food is bad? State auditors were here a few weeks ago, and sampled the "Fine cuisine" of our school's cafeteria. Their reaction? I quote: "This stuff is worse than the food they serve prisoners. Seriously. "

I'm actually planning to start bringing my lunches to school. It's that bad.

Getting on-topic, I just had the Marchuan (brand) Curry Chicken style. Now THAT is some good stuff.

Getting on-topic, I just had the Marchuan (brand) Curry Chicken style. Now THAT is some good stuff. I don't see how they could serve anybody anything worse then what they serve us. I don't see how the poor kids eat it. I can barely stand to sit in our lunch room without getting sick. I have brought my lunch for the past 2 years, and I don't dare touch it (the lunch-room food)...especially since people have found hair, and even a few bugs in their food before.
