OMG it is 3:30 in the morning and my eyes are barely open enough to see to type, but I just woke up from the most WONDERFUL dream (and a touch of heartburn, so I can't lay back down for a bit). Since I have to sit up, I needed to come up to my computer room and tell you all about it.

First a little background.... I supposed it is well known that Mariposa and I chat on the IM every day as we are able. One of the things we sign off with to each other every night is SFD meaning Sweet Freddie Dreams.... something that is more of a hope for us than a reality... but tonight was one of those rare nights when it came true!

Second background piece to help you understand part of this dream.... once a month (which was last night) one of the young male teachers at our school sings and plays guitar at a local bar and grill. Several of the teachers and parents from our school go to hear him play and sing and generally have a good time. The food is good too (hense the heartburn I suppose :p ) So with those two pieces of background, let me tell you my dream....

It started out that I was at a live personal appearance where several of the stars of 70's shows were on a panel answering questions. Freddie was there with some sort of a manager. I honestly didn't recognize the others on the panel, I guess cause I only had eyes for Freddie.... I know I was sitting close to the front, cause I had my hand in the air and he called on me a couple of times... I do remember I asked him one question, if he still played his guitar and sang. He told me he didn't have as much time to do so as he would like... I think he was working on another show when this was taking place. It was present day and he was as old as he would be now, and I was my present age too, but he didn't look much older than we remember him (you know how dreams are!)

Well the panel discussion was over and his manager was trying to get him to go somewhere else, but he decided he needed to get away for a while, so he came up to me (I was just hanging around with a picture, hoping he would autograph it for me) and asked if there was any good place just to hang out and hide out for awhile. I told him of the place where my friend Tony plays, but it was open mike night there. He said it sounded great, let's go. So we did.

When we got to the bar, all my friends from school were there, as well as my hubby. I introduced Freddie to the crowd, who were very nice to him. They were embarassing me some, telling him how I had this THING for him (they all know me TOO well, gang! LOL) Anyhow, the mike was open, and I had my guitar with me. Seems in this dream, I regularly came and sang and played on open mike night. I don't remember what song I sang, but everyone liked it, including Freddie. I am a little hazy, but I think he got up and sang and played too, to much applause. Then we sat around again and talked for several hours with all my friends.

When it was time to go, it was like 2 in the morning and the bar was closing.... but we didn't want to go.... I had to go outside to get a bit of fresh air, and then I went back in to get my guitar. My husband and some of my friends were still sitting around a table chatting when I went into the back area... a sort of hallway where the regular entertainment gathers ... to get my guitar. Freddie was back there waiting for me. I told him what a great time I had with him that night, and thanked him for hanging out with me and my friends. He told me that I had a lot of talent with the singing and playing and thanked me for asking him, he was glad to get away from the "famous" routine for awhile. I said to him that his presence tonight was enjoyed by all my friends, but especially by me, cause I really had this thing for him for a long time... a fact that my friends would good-naturedly tease me about, including my husband. He smiled a really big smile and said "Really?" and laughed a little. I blushed and said, "Yeah, I even have a room with all these pictures of you on a wall in it." He looked pleasantly surprised, and then I remembered the picture I had brought with me that night for him to sign. I showed him the picture and he realized I was telling him the truth. He told me since I was such a big fan, he would have to do something special for me. He got a red marker and tried to make a set of lips on the poster under his picture and then signed something in Spanish, I can't remember what it was, something short and sweet tho. Then he signed his name. He kissed the poster where he had drawn the lips and then gave it to me with a LONG HUG (no kiss I am afraid... I think he was afraid my hubby would walk back at any moment to look for me) He told me to be careful of how I handled the poster till the ink dried, and even suggested how I could preserve it so it wouldn't smear. I remember going out to the main bar area to the table where everyone was still chatting. I showed them the poster and they were suggesting some ways for me to preserve it. Hubby didn't seem jealous, cause he knew how much I liked Freddie. Freddie said goodnight to everyone and we all left to go home. The only thing my hubby said was what a nice guy Freddie was and did I notice what he had written on his t shirt. It was unusual, to be sure... kind of an off color, light orange color with big lime green letters (yes it did look kinda weird, but I didn't seem to notice that it was) I had noticed what it said, but unfortunately it isn't fit to post here...

I know I am being a bit of a tease about that, but if I post it here, I could get in a LOT of hot water. If you want to know, I guess you could email me and I could tell you. I will hint that it was about a former person in his life and it wasn't too kind of that person.....I am NOT sure why he was wearing that T shirt in my dream BTW.... you know how dreams are.

I woke up feeling his warm hug... it was a big ole bear kind of hug, the kind that stays with you a long time... if only he was brave enough to risk a kiss too! At least I got the hug and the chance to tell him how I felt about him.... it was a simply WONDERFUL dream!

Well it is 4:15 and I really should try to get some more sleep before I have to get up to go to school today... tee hee, maybe I will have more dreams!

I had a dream about Freddie Wed nite too! I think it was Luckymamas fault (ha-ha lol) cuz I had fallen asleep in the lazyboy chair & got up at an odd hour. I decided to get on the internet & check things out. I read Luckymamas post before going to bed. Went to bed & dreamed.

In the beginning of the dream we went to visit some relatives of Mikes who lived in the hillbilly area of Ky he is from. Won't bore ya with details there (which involved me seeing lots of bugs there & getting bugs in my hair--yuck) but after we visited them, staying a few days with them, we went to this big garage in the hillbilly area of KY Mike is from. On the walls of it were a few paintings of Freddie & I commented to Mike how cute they were. I saw from a distance these 2 evik con artist men & they were talking saying they had planned to kill off Freddie in the 70's & were glad he killed himself. One of the men said to the other one that no Freddie was not dead, he was alive & had been for yrs keeping in hiding. I was so happy to hear that & couldn't wait to tell you guys! Then the guy said to the other one that they needed to bump off & kill Freddie since he had never died. They both began plotting how to bump him off. I got really worried about Freddie & wondered how in the world I could get ahold of him & find him to warn him the 2 guys were gonna kill him. The guys never saw me. I did take a couple of the Freddie paintings home with me but I have no idea what else happened or how it ended. Not as exciting as Luckymama's dream but at least I dreamed about him...

You can e-mail me too... :)

I dreamed about Freddie last nite! In the dream I was in my car at a stop light & a truck pulled up next to me. In it was a guy who looked kinda like Freddie but his hair was longer. I thought to myself that I needed to get on here & tell you guys about it. I told Mike look at that guy, he kinda looks like Freddie. Then the guy actually became Freddie! I woke up after that tho. Oh well...

Good luck with having some Freddie dreams! :) I had figured that maybe the usa in your name meant that you were from the USA. It's interesting where people get their computer names from...

I usually don't have dreams like this, that I can actually still remember vividly but it was kinda hinting me in the sense that I believe Freddie Jr is or has been aware of the websites honoring his father.... What I can recall in my dream is that somehow Freddie Jr appears at a gathering on behalf of TWC (Time Warner Cable) Freddie Jr is there representing Freddie Sr for an achievement award for Freddie's ground breaking roles on Chico and the Man and comedy highlighting the Latino comunity. Well anyways somehow Freddie Jr approaches me and Luckymama and tells us that he has been on the Internet and is amazed over the response of his father with all the websites. He is like in tears and is embracing me and Luckymama out of compassion over the love we still have for his father.

I had a dream about Freddie last nite. It was a bad one. In it I was watching CATM & it was a Raul episode & I got upset cuz Freddie was dead & not in it. I started screaming & crying hysterically asking why was Freddie dead & why couldn't he be alive & in the episode. It was kinda upsetting...

That is an upsetting dream. I wonder what lead you to have it. Had you recently watched a CATM episode with Raul in it, and felt sad because Freddie wasn't in it?

I think dreams are so interesting because it is so interesting to see hwo your subconscience works and what it is working on. You must have been working through some grieving in your life, whether it was about Freddie or something as painful as Freddie not being in the episodes with Raul in it.

I'm sorry you had such a sad and upsetting dream.

Hugs,

:bighug:

Yeah it was a scary dream. Fortunately I dreamed some other better dreams last nite like dreaming about Arlo Guthrie & Starsky of Starsky And Hutch after dreaming the Freddie dream...

I woke up from a neat dream about Chico & Mando. In the dream Luckymama & Suzanne both got together & wrote a Freddie fan fic. In it was a character named Kim who was a schoolteacher & also a trained detective who was dating Freddies character. The other character was Suzanne who was dating Mandos character. Freddie & Mando were on the beach & looked HOT! :) Freddies & Mandos characters were riding in a car & it crashed & they got injured. How badly I dunno. It was rumored that the brakes of the car were rigged to mess up & cause then to crash & get killed. Well Kim & Suzanne got together to do some detective work & see if this was true or not & if so who did it. Freddie & Mando in the story became live for me & I am watching them act out this fan fic live. Wow! :) I unfortunately woke up...

I had two dreams last night about favorite people. The first one involved an investigation on CSI with my pal George Eads as Nick Stokes (his role on there) Some of you know he is another interest of mine! LOL

Then after that dream, which I don't really remember much of, sad to say, I had another dream that I do remember quite a bit about. This one involved Freddie. I was standing outside a building in a big city, I dunno if it was NY, LA or maybe another city. Anyway, I was chaperoning a group of students from my school, at least they were former students and were in HS now. I dunno why we were in the city, but I believe we were on this street corner waiting for our bus to pick us up. The kids were wandering around and I was with another lady about my age, I am guessing she was another chaperone, but I didn't recognize her as anyone I knew in real life. As we were standing there, Freddie shows up. I really don't remember if he was the age he was when he passed or a bit older, but he sure seemed alive. He came up to us and started to do a standup routine right there on the street, entertaining us with jokes I had not heard before. I don't remember them, but I do remember they had something to do with stories about when he was growing up in NYC. We thanked him for his performance. We asked him if he had time for an autograph, but he said he needed to get going and apologized to us. We tried to get close to him but he begged off and went inside the building. He wasn't rude to us, but it was strange that he wouldn't let us touch him in any way. We were curious where he went, so we left the kids with one of the male chaperones that was on the trip with us and went inside the building to look for Freddie. It turned out to be some church outreach building. I recognized one man in the building, one of the elderly deacons from my church. We asked him about Freddie's whereabouts and he looked at us like we were strange or something. So I tried to explain about Freddie and the show and even mentioned Jack Albertson in the explanation. When I mentioned Jack's name, the deacon that I knew said that Jack used to come here and funded the outreach. He worked a lot in the basement of the building on church art, and that it was all still down there, no one had touched it when he died. When I asked about Freddie again, he said that he barely remembered Freddie, but that he was a friend of Jack's and that Jack had been pretty broken up when his friend died suddenly. The deacon didn't seem to know too many of the details, but he invited us to go see the artwork in the basement. We went down and found large canvases of unfinished artwork in stained glass style of art, only on canvas instead of in glass. It was beautiful, but all of it had been left unfinished. We talked about finishing it, but the deacon said they left it unfinished in Jack's memory. As I walked around the basement looking at the artwork, I saw that Freddie had helped with some of it, his name was on one of the canvases. Then I seemed to feel the presence of both the men in the room. I wondered why Freddie seemed so alive looking when he came to us on the street and was wondering in my mind why he did come to us like that, cause I figured out it had to have been his spirit. I wondered why my friend and I were the only two who had seen him, cause we had asked the others in our group later if they had and they said they didn't see anything. I got the sense that Freddie was about to answer my question, it was like his voice was in my mind, but then I woke up.

I just remembered a few other details...

I can remember he had on a shirt that had some sort of plaid pattern to it, and his tight jeans.

It was really weird when we found out it was his spirit that came to us, cause he looked so real when he was doing his bit.

I remember when I was in the basement and the realization had come to me that he wasn't alive when he was out on the street getting the shivers run up my spine.

Oh my gosh that is chilling i wonder what it all means???
wouldn't it be something if we discovered that jack really did paint to relax and tried to get Freddie interested in it to relieve some of his stress?!

Sounds like a strange & wonderful dream! (wonderful that Freddie seemed so alive and appeared to you), but the other parts are strange...sounds like Freddie was trying to communicate with you in some way...

It is 2:30 in the morning and I can't go back to sleep because I just woke up from a dream that is nagging at my brain. So I figured I would come up here and type it out to you all so maybe I can get back to sleep. And BTW, Cheryl, pay close attention! LOL

In my dream I had this wall of multiple televisions, sorta like they do in those major appliance stores, but it was really in my house. I was flipping channels on them and came across this station that is similar to TVLand, but not TVLand. They were running back to back episodes of Starsky and Hutch, sorta like a marathon, and lo and behold, Freddie was on it. I had come in on what was the second to the last episode of the last season. Freddie had this reoccuring role. His name was Smiles, I was presuming a nick name, although that is all they called him. He was an ex-con who went into psychology after he got out of prision. He had gone to community college at night and got his degree. Anyway, during the time he was with Starsky and Hutch, he would profile criminals for them and even do a bit of stooling for them since he knew a lot of the bad guys. He reminded me a lot of Huggy Bear's role, but different too. Anyway, he would hang out with the guys sometimes after work, going to the white bars and picking up white chicks, but when he wasn't with the guys, he prefered hanging out with black chicks. He liked being with Starsky and Hutch, but seemed more comfortable with Huggy Bear. When his character was featured, he narrated what was going on.... and it was kind of a split personality thing. He got his name, Smiles, from the fact that he was always smiling, but when he would talk about what was going on, he seemed a bit on the dark depressed side, sorta like he couldn't quite fit in either world 100% and was a little bitter about the fact. After watching the little bit of the episode I happened upon, I watched one full episode with him in it, I don't remember much about either episode, except they were catching bad guys and hanging out with the ladies at bars and clubs. I also remember watching commercials advertising CATM coming soon to another network, one I couldn't get on my satellite dish. I was mad about that. After the second episode, I got a TV guide and found out that I had missed all the other episodes with his character in them, cause they started back up with the episodes from season one. I kept telling myself I would have to watch it till the ones with Freddie came back on again, taping that last season with him in it, but then I was having a hard time trying to find out if it would be back on again.... I was flipping the channels on several of the TV's and looking in guides.... I never did find out cause I woke up at that point.

BTW Freddie had two looks in the show. When he was hanging out with the cops, he had his hair in wet little ringlet curls, almost like a wet, matted down afro, and he wore clothes that were more suited for hanging out in white bars, leisure suit types of clothes.... but when he wasn't with the cops, out in his own element, he had his afro all puffed out and wore clothes that were more of Huggy Bear's style.... He did wear these cool looking sunglasses (shades) in both styles. It kinda reminded me of that one sketch he did on TOAD with Telma Hopkins, where he kept switching from acting white to acting black....

I kept thinking as I watched the show that I remember watching Starsky and Hutch when I was a kid, but never remembered Freddie being on it.... it was very weird, but cool seeing Freddie acting in a role I didn't know he played. Too bad he didn't do it in reality!

Well ladies, I am off to bed to try to get some more sleep before having to get up at 5:30 for school..... SFDs to you all and to all a Freddie good night!:D

Neat dream! I think it would've been great if Freddie could've been in a Starsky & Hutch ep. I bet he wasn't in one cuz it was on a different network. Actually your dream would make a great fan fic. You ought to consider turning it into a fan fic. You, Suzanne, Mariposa & the other CATM fan fic writers all do an excellent job on your stories & keep Frederico alive... :)

I have to agree with Cheryl. I could really see Freddie in your dream. That would be some good Fan fiction.
