yeah, I couldn't believe it either. It sounds a little suspicious to me. Maybe she's pregnant. Not very many girls get married these days when they're 17.

but in those days (my parents were 21 and 22 when they married) people were mature and ready to settle down earlier. 18 in 1960 is comparable to 28 (or maybe even 30) in 2004.

I agree... my parents got married at 17/25, even both of my sisters were married at 20, now I find that absurd.

Though she won't the first young music artist to get married at a young age. Janet Jackson married James DeBarge at age 18, Aaliyah is rumored to have married R. Kelly at age 15. So it has happened before.

And she is very similar to Janet's marrige, in terms that both at the time of their marrige were in the shadow of an famous sibling.
