Hey! Becareful of what your criticize, I've cleaned a few film frames for a few 1970's TV dramas. I did a few episodes for Starsky and Hutch, Kojak and Emergency. Technicolor is scheduled to clean up the CHiPS TV show next year too.

Don't make me come back and yell at you. ;)

I just wanted to point out a mistake on the third season review for Mad About You. In the Memorable Episodes section of the review, you said that the series finale for season 3 on the set was "The Parking Space," but the actual season 3 finale was "Up in Smoke Parts 1 and 2". "The Parking Space" was the second episode of the fourth season. Is that episode on the set and listed as an episode in the set, or was it just a mistake in the review? If it wasn't a mistake, I guess either Sony wanted to throw in a bonus episode, or made a glitch themselves.

I guess the music licensing rights are too expensive. I don't mind the music replacement as much as when they cut entire scenes out. This was the 4th Paramount/CBS DVD set that I've seen this month that has music replaced. Family Ties, Girlfriends, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Bosom Buddies. It doesn't look good for Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, and Mork & Mindy.

On the Bosom Buddies set, is the original opening theme song "My Life" on there or has it been replaced with the syndicated version?

All of the episodes have the Stephanie Mills' "Shake Me Loose" version. All of the episodes run over 25 minutes, except #2 is 24:42 and #14 is 24:02.

Well isn't that just wonderful . . . paramount has really been annoying me lately. With Sabrina . . . the show never did too well in the ratings to begin with, and now with the episodes edited, not many people will be buying the set. Have you already gotten your review copy?

TVJunkie101
02-26-2007, 11:15 PM
I'm doing the review. I should have it done by tomorrow. I'm not sure about edits. A lot of episodes are coming up between 21:49 and 22:00. It varies each episode.

If there are any edits, odds are they are very small, but as I said, I don't know for sure.

I think it's another underplayed, underrated sitcom that hasn't gotten much airtime exposure in a long time. (Similar to "Maude"). Last time I saw ODAAT was on either KTTV Channel 11 or KCOP Channel 13 probably to the 1980's. Not sure if TV Land has ever aired the series but this is a long time coming!

For those of you, I can't wait, either! :)

"HugeTVFan," it helps to know your facts before you go ranting and raving about how SO doesn't do enough reviews for your precious "Full House." As vashti pointed out, SO has done reviews for seasons one to five and are working on season six (TJ said a few posts up that it was coming soon). You obviously don't visit the DVD Review page very often, which you should before you ask questions like "Where's this review? Where's that one?."

Wow! I've been getting a lot of replys! Thank you, thank you. Finally something I type gets noticed! Well I knew it would anyways! LOL! I was hoping today going on this message board that my post would get quite a few replys...and boy was I correct!
OK...I...know that you guys are doing plenty of reviews and that Seasons 1-5of Full House have been reviewed but it perplexes me...how after all of this time, you still don't have a review. Alright. Pavanbadal, look,I'll look at your reviews and you're accurate and all. It's just...why no Full House Season 6? I don't have the set...I want it...and I have zero reviews on it. OK. I'll have to check the release date of the reviews and how close they were to the actual release date of the DVD sets:
OK. The first season DVD review was on February 12,2005,four days after the DVD set got released originally. Alright. Not too bad. OK,the other set:days later. MANY days later but still in the same month. The release's date:December 6,2005. The review's date:December 23,2005. That's almost--That's exactly I believe 17 days. Three days over two weeks that set was reviewed AFTER the inital release date. OK. The third season:The release date was April 4,2006:the review date:THREE DAYS BEFORE!!! OK. That's how it should be right there! OK! OK. Specific date for you too lazy to not count (or too...something...whatever):April 1,2006. OK. Fourth season:OK. The earliest I've seen that series be reviewed for any season sets--if you know what I mean. A ENTIRE WEEK BEFORE the set comes out!!! Bravo, you're getting better! Way Way Way Way Way...better! The best I've seen so far! OK,fifth season:Two days later! Not too bad but not too great at the same time. Let me round-up overall how quick you guys got to the reviews and how...well...early the review got posted up:
Season 1-Pretty good.
Season 2-Pretty late so thus bad.
Season 3-Great.
Season 4-The personal best.
And Season 5-Pretty good.
And Season 6 of course somewhere in the middle (I don't think it's nowhere really near 17 days yet since the set got originally released). OK. So that's my round-up! OK. Wow! Three-four-yeah-four-seasons you guys did good on! Wow! You guys are quick. OK..well...Two either you must've gotten a copy of it late or...you were doing plenty of reviews at that time or...whatever...something obviously because why would it be so late? Also yeah like an above post (that NONE of you guys have replied to) why no Roseanne? What's the deal with that (oops...wrong show)? OK,you guys may have a good reason but I'm still not overall happy with your Season 2 span and your Season 6 span--but the rest of the seasons you did perfectly fine on. Kudos to you I guess but I still--STILL--want a Season 6 release before Saturday comes!

Here's my explanation for the following post:I didn't mean that SO had NEVER EVER EVER done a review of a Full House season set I just meant the current Season Six one. I mean that they (SO) have done reviews on the four shows that I listed and NEVER (in THAT context folks) a Full House Season Six set (see!) review. OK,you guys are pretty accurate I have to admit but on this set you're not so much. I'm not saying that I won't read any of your future DVD reviews ever again I'm just saying that on this release you're slow. And also I don't think I'm the ONLY FH fan out there! Not by a long shot! They NEVER send their sets on time and are almost always late. I'm sorry but it's a pain in the butt.

If you have a complaint, tell it to Warner.

Believe me, we aren't just NOT doing a review.

You do realize this, right?

You don't seem to be grasping the bigger picture. We physically do NOT have a set to review.

Dear, Huge TV Fan:

first off, SO is great for dvd reviews, I used to review at ClassicTVHits.com and we had up to a week to get it done, The SO team gets it done in 48 hrs and thats amazing, and second off as a past reviewer i used to get alot of WB sets and ive had them 3 months late, so don't blame them blame WB cause they are pretty slow...

Also, I have Full House: Season 6, It's just the same as the others, no changes at all so if your gonna buy it anyways, just go get the damn thing and stop complaining...

Also TV DVD Fan--I have been checking the page every single day and thus I am clearly aware that Seasons 1-5 have been reviewed. I have known that. OK sure my post sounded like I didn't but I meant it in a different context. OK. To clear this issue up,I'll have to reply to my own post early on. OK I'll post this and than go back and reply to my earlier post that started this whole mess in the first place. :) :D

You implied that SO never did a review for Full House, so I took it in context. Wow, what a crazy thought, to take something in context! Your arrogance towards the SO review team amazes me and don't come back at me in the future with such a snotty remark just because you wrote something down that you didn't mean (because I highly doubt that I was the only one who thought that you were insinuating that SO never did any reviews for Full House. When they get to it, they get to it. You can't ask for anything more. It's a great review team and if they can, sometimes they can get reviews up for sets weeks before any other sites. THOSE are the lazy sites, but don't mix 'em up with SO. Patience is a virtue.

OK fine! I'll go get it...in about a week! OK! That's when I can get it...if I wanted to get it today I can't and I don't really want to get it from Amazon. So I'll wait a week and next Saturday (or whenever I get it...I'm going to Wal-Mart I think but it may be sold out there) I'll start my Full House Season 6 hunt. My quest for the set begins...next week! LOL! :D

I want Full House! It's two--to three weeks now and still no review. Also I never cared for The King Of Queens in the first place! They're quick on everything but that and Roseanne I believe as well like another user pointed out. :happyface

HugeTVFan, please be patient. The reviewer assigned the set just got the set on Tuesday. So the review is coming. We can only bring reviews when they send it to us. 90% of the time we get sets pre-street, but there are sometimes we don't, especially from Warner Bros. Please try to understand. There is no need to keep pouting about it.

Ah, well, they should go by what you like and don't like. And I never cared for Full House in the first place, but I'm not telling them that I don't think they should do a review for the sets. The fans do have a right for a review of their favorite shows. Just because you don't like KOQ doesn't mean that there isn't millions of people who do, thus it has just as much of a right to get a review as Full House or any other show for that matter does! How'd you feel if when the Full House Review gets posted up I went around and said "Oh, I never cared for Full House? Where's the review I Want?" I'd imagine you'd feel the same way as I do. (And I'm a completely neutral party because I'm not a fan of either FH or KOQ.) As I've said time and time again, just be patient and it'll be up and waiting for people to read it! It's one thing to be anxious (like I am for many upcoming titles), but a completely other thing to be criticizing the review team just because they get a review up of a show you don't like before the one you've been waiting for.

I'm currently doing the reviews for BOTH Roseanne and Full House. Full House will be up tomorrow and Roseanne should be as well. RELAX and stop badgering us. We do the best we can. It's NOT US. It is Warner and Anchor Bay. They sent the sets VERY VERY LATE. We did not just say "we aren't doing reviews". That is NOT how SitcomsOnline works. Please understand this.

Yeah, I'm a guy. So if you saw that review, don't you get a pretty good understanding of what the set's all about? Sure I'll still read SO's review when it's posted, but DVDTalk's is enough to tide me over for now. You have to understand that they really do need to get the set first and that's half the battle... then they need to do a review. I don't want them to do a shoddy review, so I'd actually rather them take a couple days longer than the other sites do and thoroughly examine the set (which they always do). Understand the situation? Sure I'm anticipating their reviews as well since they're so great, but I keep in the back of my mind at all times that they're only human and they can't make a kick-ass review in 5 minutes.

I forgot to echo that in my post, sorry troop, but that was on my mind as well. And by the way HugeTVFan, I have nothing to apologize for. I think that they should focus on other things that are more important than DVDs and make them their first priorities (family, etc.), and then on the side take a little time each night to formulate a good review. They can't be slaving over a computer keyboard all day to get a review to you within the time limit you give them, because it's not your (or mine or anybody else's for that matter) place to tell them when the review should be up. You're not paying them for it... they're doing YOU a favor (and me and everybody else who reads the reviews).

Two Thumbs Up For First Look Studio's For Really Being The First STUDIO To Release Two Seasons DVD'S At The Same Time Same Date.(THE COSBY SHOW S-3 & 4) I Don't Think Any Other Studio Done This Before, Unless You Want To Count The Studios That Release 2 Season Togather Because The First Season Had Only 6 Episodes (dallas Season 1), And Release The 2nd To Make A Complete Set.

Looking back at this entire thread from its measly beginnings as a cool new feature to a staple of Sitcoms Online...I can't help but say:"Wow! That's really cool!" Seriously that's how I feel. From Pavan's original announcement (the very first post of this thread and thus the literal beginning) to the very first review ever (exact title slips my mind now....if I can find it I'll either make a reply to this post or edit it somehow) to the announcement of the Mini-DVD reviews on (in) the News Blogs....to your 100th 200th 300th 400th and I believe also 500th milestone reviews....it really is amazing and mind-boggling...you just thought "Hey we'll do each sitcom!" and that was your original motto or promise--and still after a few years that promise has been fulfilled and people sure have gotten into arguments (myself in that boat) and not every single non-sitcom DVD review has been totally fufilled (I believe) BUT overall you guys have poured your heart into this stuff for us the fans. Be them impatient be them grateful or be them just plain old "Other"--in the end they get a smile and you get a smile as well. I would like to overall thank you guys for all of these reviews and I hope that all of you--every single one of you--takes time out to read this post. So overall I say thanks. Thanks for the DVD reviews guys. I may do a song later...lol!

EDIT:The very first review that Sitcoms Online has ever done was What's Happening Season 1 by pavanbadal. So he was the very first reviewer for that--ever. And Shawn Eaton (TVJunkie101) has done the very last (well most recent) review for F Troop Season Two.

HugeTVFan

So what kick-started this program (or whatever its called) was What's Happening Season 1 while F Troop Season Two was the most recent review.

We've never claimed to to review every sitcom available. There's some that we don't cover because reviewers aren't interested in them, or we just can't get them.

Yes, we will do reviews for Heroes, JAG, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Boston Legal, Brothers & Sisters, and What About Brian. Some will be full (the ones we have done full before), some will be minis, since they are not sitcoms.

Haven't seen a review yet of The Addams Family Volume 3 since I picked it up at my local Best Buy on Wednesday this week and all I can say is the audio and video quality is virtually the same, clear and sharp (for 1965-66 standards). I was scanning the discs for defects but they all worked perfectly!

Now I'm very happy owning both monster-themed series in glorious black and white from the 1960s! (The Munsters being the first).

When will a review ofThe Addams Family volume 3 be posted? TVShows on DVD said there was a six (6) disc set, but there was only three (3) discs.

Here's the info from tvshowsondvd.com
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/releases/Addams-Family-Volume-Release/6808

All the (21) episodes are on three double-sided discs last I checked.

On the mini dvd review for price is right, it mentions the picture quality is a little rough . Is it at least better looking dvd quality than the family feud set????

Well, I did the review for Family Feud and skees53 did The Price is Right, so we can't really compare. I did see images of The Price is Right DVD and I can say it seems to be a bit better than Family Feud.

Are you reviewing Wings S6? I haven't gotten my set, it's still on its way. But I'd love to read the review in the meantime.
