I seem to recall that their rent was $300, yet I saw an episode recently that stated the rent was $500 (the ep with Jack and the leather coat).
Was the rent ever $300, and if so, was the rent increase ever mentioned on the show?

Money's no problem ladies and gent
I talked to Bart and we are raising your rent

LOL, and they weren't shy about raising it either. That was quite a hike.

The increase from $300 to $500 over eight years is not too bad considering the rent on my one-bedroom went from $750 to $1535 between '94 and '02!!!

It was probably increased due to time passing by. Just like in real-life, prices change as the years go by, so the Furleys may have hiked the rent from tax increases from the government. :D
