WASHINGTON — Jay Leno's new announcer on NBC's The Tonight Show will be "Stuttering" John Melendez from Howard Stern's radio show, a spokeswoman said.

Melendez will start March 29, replacing Edd Hall, who's leaving the show after 12 years to concentrate on doing movies.

He is working with a speech coach to control his stutter, a Tonight Show spokeswoman said Wednesday.

Besides announcing, Melendez will be in sketches and will go out on interviews. Melendez is famous for embarrassing the people he talks to, but he won't be doing that sort of interview for Leno, the spokeswoman said.

Tonight Show executives became interested in Melendez after seeing him on the ABC reality show I'm a Celebrity: Get Me out of Here. The spokeswoman said Melendez came across as a "peacemaker" and "family man."

The reason you're getting the ;) smiley is because you're not putting a psace between the ; and the ).

And ahh, it does work! The letters are there, it's just that there's some word it won't recognize or translate, such as Jay Leno, NBC, basically the ones in *'s. When I get my new computer next week, I'm going to download the fonts to it and test it out on here. My main problem wasn't translating the direct text, it was just making the accent marks on the characters in the alphabet (http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfabet).

AHH! Thank you! :loveya: Yes, I have it! All I need to do is just take those codes that were in your text and write them down. Usually, you just do alt + four numbers, but it seems as it only has characters for French, Spanish, German, etc.

Same goes for the Cyrillic font. It'll translate the vB code too. the ()B() and (I]) are translated as well. The rest of the dialog is fine though. :)

Also, is there any way to write Russian using the Roman Alphabet? Kind of how Croatian can be written in both the Roman and Cyrillic alphabets? I could probably understand half of it, (I usually can when I hear it spoken), the only problem is that I don't know how to pronounce some of the letters the Cyrillic alphabet uses.

Hmmm. That's a toughy. You can try a Russian-language book where they use pronounciation guides along with the Cyrillic alphabet letters. I don't know if you can find a Russian translator on the Internet that uses the Roman alphabet.
