TV ABC Renews "Castle" for 6th Season

ABC’s "Castle" Eyes Two-Season Pickup
by NELLIE ANDREEVA
Wednesday May 8, 2013

As ABC’s "Castle" gears up for its fifth season finale, there is no doubt that the series will be renewed for next season. But I hear ABC is considering giving the quirky procedural starring Nathan Fillion a two-year pickup, which will bring it to seven seasons.

That must be gratifying for "Castle" and its producers as the show spent the first couple of seasons on the bubble until establishing itself as a solid ratings performer with strong fan following.

In fact, with help from lead-in "Dancing with the Stars", "Castle" currently ranks as ABC’s most watched drama series.

"Castle" is among several ABC series whose renewal is guaranteed, including "Grey’s Anatomy", "Scandal", "Modern Family", "Once Upon a Time", "Revenge" and "The Middle", along with the unscripted "Shark Tank" which is already casting for next season.

"Dancing with the Stars" could potentially scale back on the number of cycles per season, as well as "The Bachelor".

Watch the finale while surfing; and it seem kind of stupid! This Castle guy give an engagement ring to the lady detective - Beckett? because she might take a job with the FBI task force? LOL! How lame is that?

I just watch my first episode of Castle and it was a hoot! Not sure what to think of it? It must be a comedy huh?

It's a drama with some comedic moments in pretty much every episode.

Also if you watched the entire series you'd get a better understanding of the Castle/Beckett relationship. They've certainly had their ups & downs. And it's taken him 5 seasons to get to this marriage proposal. I guess some people might think it's lame but it's made for some interesting episodes.

I like the show overall; it is entertaining without getting too dragged down with too much procedural BS, and Nathan Fillion is fun to watch even if I don't care for the whole relationship scenario at all.

i thought the season finale ending was stupid, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it - whatever happens, happens.

I haven't watched the final yet so I shouldn't have entered this thread. lol Castle is a great show. It's a light comedy drama. Sort of reminds me of Moonlighting as far as it's comedic tone. I never take it too seriously.

I love the show, and I for one am glad it has been renewed, it has a big following and a ton of fans myself included.

I've grown very fond of the show but the idiot that came up with the idea of referring to Castle and Beckett as Caskett needs to be shot.
