what the heck are you talking about? I compared the two episodes that aired against each other - I would say that was a fair comparison seeing as they AIRED AGAINST EACH OTHER.

besides, I just said i enjoyed that one episode of one show more than the other episode - hardly a damnation, simply an opinion.

I'm trying to say, you have had three seasons to get used to BBT. You know what to expect. We know every episode is going to be good. I think Romantically Challenged after one episode can't do that yet. I hope it is given a chance to.

like I said, there was good and bad parts to the show - I'm not condemning it, but it does have some bugs to work out if it has any hope of ABC keeping it on the air.

...because lets face it - ABC doesn't really have the best track record of standing behind new shows that don't take off right away.

I'd rather they left MF reruns there, especially now that MINUTE TO WIN IT is going in at 8p with Mercy at 9

Good. I'd much rather watch The Middle than Modern Family, now I can see a full hour. They're definitely testing it moving to 8 in the fall, which I think it should do.

Oops sorry forgot to put the movie title for the movie on May 26. It will be the network TV premiere of Transformers.

Smart move, ABC. Modern Family is being overplayed, so this should help. Obviously The Middle will be lower rated, but its better than playing Modern Family to death.

Pavan,

I think youre right about LOST rerun Thurs night. At least I think it should be, with pop ups.

I think Sun May 30 the Bachelorette premiere should be rerun from 9-11p. Dramas dont rerun well, plus that previous Mon it would be contending with last 24 and CSI MIAMI finale. This way people can see it before 2nd ep next night,

If ABC is not running 3 hours of comedies all Summer from 8-11p, then I think they should run MF, MIDDLE, MF, CT followed by Castle reruns at 10p after HT ends mid June. Castle would benefit from reruns on a more visible night than Sat.
If they do 3 hours of comedies, It should 2 MIddles from 8-9p. MF, CT 9-10p and MF CT from 10-11p

Good idea about The Bachelorette encore on May 30. Plus May 31 is Memorial Day.

Monday's Finals :

Quote:
The Big Bang Theory (REPEAT) 10.83 milion viewers, 3.6/9 (18-49 demo rating)

Romantically Challenged (This Week) 9.06 milion viewers, 2.6/7 (18-49 demo rating)

Romantically Challenged (Last Week Premiere) 10.66 milion viewers, 2.9/8 (18-49 demo rating)

So Pavan, what do you think McPherson does ? Does he let it air another week, and risk it dragging down Castle during sweeps ? If he does this will be the last week because he will never let Romantically Challenged go up against a new The Big Bang Theory episode on May 10. If he does it gets obliterated. It would be down under 8 million and an 18-49 demo close to or under 2.0.

Superbowl, ABC never had Romantically Challenged scheduled for May 10. It has always been a two-hour Dancing for that date (as that is when each of the remaining four will dance twice). It will air next week (May 3, BBT is a repeat at 9:30) and if it does well it will air again on May 17. ABC only planned on airing 4 of the 6.

You should be happy that another sitcom is trying to build an audience when BBT is in repeats (but you keep bashing for some reason you need to gloat). Because if it does well, it will go to Wednesday next fall.

Dragging Castle down? Yeah, sure... it was a repeat this week and the repeat beat a repeat of CSI: Miami even with a larger lead-in. It is time for Castle to show its own legs and it has done well the last two weeks without DWTS as the direct lead-in.

I don't understand what's your issue with this show? If you don't care for it that's fine, but it isn't the gigantic failure you make it out to be. No it doesn't hold more than 50% of the DWTS leadin, but what show ever has? Not Castle and look at it now. Even shows that aired out of American Idol, with the exception of House and now Glee, couldn't retain more than 50% of AI leadin audience. A year ago Castle couldn't hold that leadin, and now it has turned into a steady performer and ABC's hottest 10pm show.

The majority of new shows drop at least 20% of their audience from their premiere episode, with a drop of only 15% in audience and 10% in demo, Romantically Challenged held up well for episode 2 and I believe DWTS was down from the previous week. The show hasn't hurt Castle's performance and is outperforming last years Surviving Surburia by wide margins. If it holds at this level, I would not be surprised by a renewal. I don't believe ABC thought it would take the timeslot. They wanted to introduce a new comedy, that basically has growing pains, and see if they can get traction for it. And next weeks performance will tell not the May 10 performance.
