On My three sons right now, Bub just said 'What in the Sam Hill is going on here"??? Anna you would love these early My three sons since you are big Fred Mertz fan! Bub the Grandfather is played by William Frawley , and he plays the exact same type lovable curmudgeon as he does on I love Lucy!!

He just said "Oh for Pete's sake"!! another funny old antiquated expression!

A possible origin for the phrase "Sam Hill" is the surveyor Samuel W. Hill (1819–1889). Hill allegedly used such foul language that his name became a euphemism for swear words. In the words of Charles Eschbach, "Back in the 1850s the Keweenaw's copper mining boom was underway.

I am still chuckling over Max and Schneider being on the DL. Big guy/Biggest guy!

They are the new David and Nick!

I have a Sam Hill/Royer joke forming in my brain somewhere.

I wonder if Max had enough of the "Big Panzini" after seeing Mark in his gray sweatpants? That ep. is on now! Ann and Sam's wedding!

Do you guys remember from Antenna , Mark saying "Julie and Max forgot to pay the water bill, so can I take a shower here"? That explains why he was over there in the sweatpants not dressed for the day yet! Remember we were all wondering before why he would be over there dressed like that?

Double treat!! I didn't realize they were playing this ep. today! I get to see my Max again!

I think they kept in the " Julie and Max forgot to pay the water bill" part and cut out the rest.

Why didn't anybody say anything like, "We can see WAY too much of you, Mr. Gaines. Perhaps you could change into some darker sweatpants."

Where is my amused pic of Barbara staring down appreciatively?
