I hate to see one of the episodes be taken off the schedule but I'm very pleased with the new schedule. Can't wait for ALF and The Odd Couple on weekdays (in my area)!

I wrote on the "Diff'rent Strokes" sub topic, that Starz evidently must have complained about the jitter that was on their original copies, because they are now much improved. I have read this jitter can sometimes be caused when shows are remastered to HD, and then converted back to SD.
MeTV needs to complain to Warners about the quality of Mama's Family, because it has the exact same problem. The jitter problem is most obvious when the credits are rolled, but, from what I've seen done to Diff'rent Strokes, the whole episode quality improves when it's corrected. |

If you watch the closing credits, which roll, the print blurs. It appears to be due to a small shake, up and down, in the picture. This jitter affects the quality of the whole episode, and it's probably why MF looks so bad on MeTV.

Is the jitter issue the same that happens at some points during an episode, where the volume and picture gets all wonky? It's not in every episode or anything, but it is there from time to time.

The picture quality looks way better on Logo than on MeTV.
Logo must use the older syndication cuts (that aired on TBS) whereas MeTV uses those crappy new digitized film versions. |

OK- what in the world is going on, that "WKRP in Cincinnati" is replacing "Mama's Family" week nights at 9:30 starting Monday? Last-minute change in the spring schedule?

That was a previously announced MeTV schedule change. Mama will only air on Sunday afternoon now.
For some reason MeTV must have had problems properly scheduling Mama, since they've moved it so much. I agree with post 98--MF doesn't look good on MeTV--I'm glad I saved my TBS copies. I think Warners tried to put it into HD--which I've read never works with a videotaped show--not enough resolution. They should have just stuck with the old syndication copies. |

In the original NBC airings, a couple of the out of order episodes were prefaced by flashback explanations (probably by Alistair Quince in the intros). These were cut in syndication, so no matter whether they're shown in network or production order, they're wrong.

(the Sunday telecasts are staying put ,too- I don't get to see the, as I work on that day).It will be good to see Mama back at 6 p.m., even if it's just one episode. |

I'll be glad to see Mama back at 6. It seems both MeTV and Antenna TV have problems finding the right show for that time. Probably a lot of people are watching the news.

"The Flintstones" will start airing from 6 to 7 p.m. starting Sept. 30. Where will that leave "Mama"? Schedule has yet to leak/be released.
