![]() Gas here is about $3.75. That's way too much considering I remember when gas was, like, $1.50. |

While up in Yosemite on the outskirts, we had to get gas. There were no other gas stations for MILES. This place was charging $5.05 a gallon.
![]() I remember the good ol' days of the gas crunch and the price was less than .75 cents a gallon. ![]() Look at what I found on gas prices: Did you know that gasoline costs less in 2005 than it did in 1980? Impossible, you say! That is the case, though, when prices are adjusted for inflation. Back in 1980, a gallon of gas cost about $1.13. More recently, in 2005 a gallon of gas cost $1.66. Yes, $1.66 is more than $1.13, but when the rate of inflation is figured in, the cost of a gallon of gas in 1980 was $2.59 (in 2005 dollars). You can use an online inflation calculator to verify that: http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl |

$3.67 a gallon around here. Luckily I drive a small car and since I don't have to drive to college everyday during the summer I won't have to spend so much money on gas...at least for now.

![]() Super Unleaded (it has 10% ethanol...out of staters are often confused by it) is $3.77. Regular is $3.90 and Premium was $4-something. Fortunately, I only fill up - on average - once a month. And my new car is getting better gas mileage than my old one, so that helps a LOT. |

Bottom line gas is something most people will use and not stop using. We will end up paying whatever it costs. I remember when people complained abt gas in 1977 and back then it was like 65 cents a gallon or something like that.

its sad because we have the technology to run our cars without depending on foreign oil but the president and vice president as well as many other politicians are in bed with the oil companies .
