Well as I have stated many times I beileve he came to town to abduct someone. Obviously he didnt set out to abduct Angela because he had no idea she'd be there. Serial killers do this as a means to find victims. They will drive around and look for an opportunity and when it arrises they take it. That is what happened here. Back in 1991 very few people had cell phones so the idea of a killer lurking around payphones waiting for a victim isnt that far fetched. How else do these random type killers get their victims?? They have to simply find a situation that looks right and act on it. |

To this day, I don't think any segment haunts me as much. Rob is innocent in my eyes, or he deserves an Oscar for making sure everything from the transmission breaking on his car to the calculated phone call from Angela.
It would bother me to not know what happened to my future wife to this day even if I carried on with my life. I don't think a day would go by without thinking about it. |

2) How am I being "hypocritical?" Are you aware of the correct definition of the word? I really can't be "hypocritical" w/ YOUR definition of anything. You stated that the man's "raggedy" appearance makes it likely that he worked on machinery and that's where people should look for the killer. A person who dresses in a "raggedy" fashion could also be: 1) A farmer/farm hand 2) A logger 3) A janitor 4) A shop teacher 5) A Wall Street investor There are many more professions, but I think that I made my point. There's no way from a person's appearance that you judge what they do for a living. |

The guy doesn't seem particularly that intelligent...Not a Wall Street guy. Just lucky. But a bearded, long haired janitor? That's likely. I still think he might be the type of person to live in a fishing community or near one. A rural guy or suburbanite. Not urban. |

I recall in the "Debbie" case--the one where the North Carolina woman was assaulted and shot in the face by a still-unidentified man--the suspect left a wool pea coat in the woods with "Debbie". Using a common stereotype, I could come to the conclusion that the suspect must be some sort of professional, as wool pea coats are often worn with business dress (I would've said he was probably a sailor, but the coat wasn't Navy issue, IIRC). So I have my mind set on a "white collar" of some sort committing the crime. Of course, you may not feel that way. Maybe you live in a large metro area and see homeless people wearing throw-away, secondhand pea coats all the time. So maybe you have your mind made up that it's a homeless person. And then there's the added element of the coat reeking of a petroleum-like odor, suggesting that the individual may have worked in some industry that utilizes those materials. Maybe a third person had an Uncle Billy Joe who used to work on an oil rig AND wear a pea coat. Maybe that third person concludes the suspect is thus an oil worker. As you see, it's all relative. Appearances and our impressions of them ultimately reveal quite little factually when you get right down to it--except maybe our own stereotypes and limited/limiting ideas. |

Does anyone else agree that whoever abducted Angela also abducted (and probably killed) Cheryl Kenney? Both were abducted in Missouri at a late night convenience store after the store was closed and robbery was obviously not the motive. So it seems to me that we have a serial killer on the loose picking off women in convenience store parking lots. As for why the guy was searching his truck, I honestly think he was just trying to kill time to wait for Angela to get off of the phone. After a few minutes he became hesitant and then abducted her while she was still on the phone out of fear of his plan not coming to fruition. I don't necessarily think the guy has to be a local townsperson, but I do think he's from or used to live in Missouri.

Just a shot in the dark here, but what do you guys think about the possibility of this guy being the same person profile in the new Hampshire serial killer segment? The MO is pretty close. Obviously the descriptions differ, but there were a few years in between. Even the two different vehicles aren't all that different. Also, the authorities felt that the new Hampshire killer had indeed traveled out of the state. Just a thought. Not sure if this has been brought up before or not.

My thoughts are someone was driving around, saw Angela, and took the opportunity to abduct her. It probably wasn't his first time, or his last time. The cops are just as much to blame. How many people you know got a puke green colored truck with an artistic picture on the back window? |
